  1. No reason to disclaim the first statement. In that instance the LEO is not your friend. He's there to put you in jail. In other situations he is. Just depends on context.
  2. With you backing it I wouldn't be surprised to see Naifeh drop and give you twenty.
  3. Getting his attack dogs to do his dirty work. I see where his new friendship with Hillary is bearing fruit. Say what you want about McCain and his service or whatever, but this is a new low. And Wesley Clark is a moron.
  4. It isn't youth, it's just you gain a perspective being older. My grandmother was born in 1892, my father in 1923. Guess which one died first.
  5. OK. It costs money to introduce and market something like that. I hope profit margins are huge. Old Bardstown Company sounds like a made up name. I hope it is Brown Forman because I am a stockholder in the company. Actually one of my customers works for them.
  6. Which company is introducing this? Why would anyone put another low market bourbon out there? It just seems like the field is already saturated with Heaven Hill, Very Old Barton (my favorite, esp in the 1/2 gal size), etc. Of course the upscale market is pretty saturated too.
  7. Not much of a rec. WHat are they charging for it?
  8. You talk to your brother in law?
  9. Out of curiosity, what will you do if one of them comes back hot?
  10. I mention this because some people on the board who also hang around the shop will know him, as he's pretty regular there. I don't think it was a hate crime. Except that the low lifes who did it hate decent people, no matter what their color.
  11. I've sometimes mentioned a good friend of mine, an Arab-American who owns a c-store. So this AM he calls to tell me that last night he went to a hookah bar with a friend. As they were coming out two guys drive up and demand money. I am not clear exactly what happened (he was slightly less than coherent) but he said he didn't have time to react before he was shot in each thigh, one with a .40 and the other a .38 wadcutter. He's out of the hospital but in a lot of pain. I guess the moral is sometimes there really is no way to prepare for everything.
  12. Who said anything about being successful? How was the Old Bardstown?

    1st automatic

Used Smith & Wesson 3G autos will fit that bill. I would not overlook the Polish P64 in 9mak or the PA63. Taurus is a hit or miss.
  14. Excellent question. See this thread here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9200
  15. Fortunately with the bodyguard style you dont have to choose either/or. TO answer the question, it depends on hwo you plan on carrying it. If in the pocket, no hammer. If on a holster, hammer.
  16. Sorry. Everyone said everything worth saying in the other 3 existing threads on the topic. I'd encourage anyone to search or read through them before posting new threads.
  17. Not exactly. Every state uses the form 4473. It is not a registration form. States that do register have separate forms I am sure. The way the gun is run is that ATF (and all requests must come from ATF) calls the dealer and says "you received such and such a gun shipped on such day from such wholesaler. What happened to it?" The dealer consults his log books and reports back "I sold it to so and so on this date. So and so is listed on the 4473 as a black/white/whatever man/woman of this age and this height and weight." Of course that won't work for guns I've taken in on trade or bought from individuals outright. There is really little way to trace that.
  18. OK, that's the lighweight chiefs special with exposed hammer I think. Wise choice. The bullet is going slightly faster with a 357 snub. THe only question is whether that really makes it more effective. On the negative side you have cost, blast, recoil, and the possibility of your rounds unseating and "prairie-dogging", locking the cylinder. ANd if you really really like recoil, try the Buffalo Bore 158gr LHP +P rounds. I found they kicked more in my Model 19 than .357 rounds.
  19. Except the vote is statewide, not county-wide. So your vote goes in alongside people in Williamson County et al. A vote for anyone but McCain is a vote for Obama.
  20. He'd ask to see the registration certificate, of course!

    Kahr guns?

My first carry gun was a Kahr K40. Nice gun. They have been reliable well made guns. I have sold a number of them and never had complaints back. The advantage is that the distance from backstrap to trigger is shorter than on almost any other gun, making them good choices for small-handed shooters.
  22. I dont think I ever called anyone a name. I dont think I ever engaged in personal attacks. Ithink I was pretty focused on the posts themselves. You might want to consider it sometime.
  23. There's a presumption of threat that didnt exist previously. But it is only a presumption. If circumstances warranted a prosecutor could overcome them. And +1 on how do you know if someone is unarmed. I presume everyone is armed unless I've done a body cavity search.
  24. You know, you add ice and ginger ale and really it doesn't matter one bit. Especially after the first few. Is there any step down from Crawford? I want to crawl on my hands and knees through the detritus of bad scotch.
  25. Agreed. It would depend on a million things, like the attitude of the dog and other possibilities.
