Tom Brady to retire from NFL after legendary career

Oh, I don't think he's by any definition a "typical athlete." I love watching that guy play football. Glad Rodgers is coming back too. -

Yeah I figured that. Lots of peckerheads, though I've met some real ladies and gentlemen over the years.

About 25 years ago I met "Red Foreman" on a golf course in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Some kid working there did something he didn't like, and Red the Mentor put on one of the most rude and extended displays of public behavior I've ever seen. It was serious verbal abuse. Just sayin.......

Has anyone noticed that the words Dr. Anthony Fauci haven't been seen anywhere in the Universe for at least 3 weeks? !!!!!!!!! -
Ebay just killed their gun parts sales!

The problem with all this is that, as a few here have stated, the new $600 trigger seems to include any economic activity. Sure, a job done would be included in that, but not a sale. Stores don't add up all their sales and report that as income. All their expenses are deducted, and their net income is taxed. So keep track of what you have paid for everything, because the IRS can tax you only on a positive difference between your cost and your proceeds. The $600 reporting requirement seems to presume it's all income. That's only true if it cost you nothing. This is going to be such a nightmare for millions of people. Say you bought a car for $30,000. A few years later you sell it to a dealer for $18,000. You DON'T have $18,000 in income by any measure. There's $0 income in that. If that dealer has to send in a 1099, well, that's just as insane as eBay having to do it. For eBay and Gunbroker to be pumping out these 1099s is absolutely ludicrous. The IRS is still way behind in processing millions of tax returns from the 2020 tax year. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere we go! Keep all receipts and and detailed records of everything you buy! It's amazing our (few) sensible politicians are not screaming about this. -

Guess I would fine tune that to the notion that the most probable outcome is guilty on the weapons charge, but with a suspended sentence. But the prosecution has been so sloppy and arrogant that the jury may just toss the whole thing. If this was a bench trial it would have been over a couple days ago with not guilty on all counts.

Like I said in another thread, a biophysicist who specializes in viruses told me that trying to stop viruses with a mask is like trying to stop mosquitoes with a chain link fence. He also said that a mask that would be effective against something as tiny as a virus would suffocate you. Makes sense to me, but we do what we gotta do.....mostly.

Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???
QuackerSmacker replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
About 35 years ago I had an investment advisory client in Sedona AZ, who had just retired after decades as the shooting instructor for a major Hollywood studio. Back then, they really wanted things to look very authentic on film, and to be safe. Those movie stars had to spend a lot of time with him before they ever got their hands on a gun on the set. I think he told me the job was usually about 75% making things look right and 25% safety, but he wouldn't approve any actor until they got the safety part down cold. His house was filled with signed photos, guns, hats, you-name-it from all those years. RIP David Chamberlain ! -

A few points: 1. Involuntary manslaughter in New Mexico is a 4th degree felony, with maximum punishments of $5000 fine and/or 18 months in prison. So it's treated more like a big misdemeanor. (4 states treat involuntary manslaughter as a misdemeanor, and 2 other states can go either way. ) 2. With regard to an earlier post, this movie wasn't being shot in NM for the scenery. It's for the NM tax break for movies. Over $650 million has been spent in NM ytd, or last year; the item I saw on that wasn't clear which. 3. The real "justice" will be in the civil law settlements. Everyone (that counts) knows that! -
Marsha, I don't think you specified when this whole thing started. Is it possible they're dove hunting? Sunset in your county is at 7:04 this evening.

Dunno. "Unemployment" payments run out for 7 million Americans today........

I don't know about including gun control in those topics, xsub. The very word control implies that they want to force something on someone, so I think gun control is in its own pathetic league. Btw, I too miss the political threads.

Trust me, you WANT the Tisas. If you don't like it, I'll buy it off of you. I have no risk here!

FWIW, I think "right to work" is being confused with "at will employment" in this thread. The former describes a state where employees cannot be compelled to join a union. The latter describes a state where employees can quit or be fired for any (legal) reason at any time, in the absence of a written contract to the contrary. Tennessee is both.

Welcome to Tennessee and our group! You've made a great decision to come here. Please tell the folks back in LA that you hate it here.

Extra mags (12+1) do not seem to be a problem, but you have to look around. Got mine at Bill's Outpost in Maryville.

I've got a LCP Max and wow, just wow! Check out the new Federal .380 Hydra-Shok Deep ammo. Nothing else compares. It's really hard to get but will be more available. Federal is really trying to crank them out.
