I'm not really seriously concerned about a slam fire, because I can control that anyway, and I think the probability of it is tiny. Yeah, that's my first instinct, though you'd think the spring would get the pin where it needs to be. That's what I don't understand. I do have the original pin, so I will try that, and will try to keep it really clean. Don't wanna get slam-fired!

Hey, thanks for resurrecting this thread! I went out shooting yesterday, including a Yugo SKS that I bought from a guy a few weeks ago. He said it has a spring-loaded Murray firing pin, and had some documentation accordingly. I shot one strip of 10, no problem. Then halfway through the next clip, got a no-fire. Ejected that shell, but then couldn't get anything to fire after that. Upon inspection, none of the ejected no-fires had even a hint of a strike on the primer. I've searched all over, and I can find lots of discussions about light strikes, but nothing about no-strikes. Any thoughts, anyone? And, thank you in advance!

Just saw this thread for the first time. I've had a Tisas Classic A-1 GI Black 1911 for about 5 years, bought new at Bud's. Probably about 700 rounds through it, never a single jam or failure-to-do-anything. Trigger, fit, finish, --- everything about this gun is great. I put on Hogue 45010 Colt Govt Rubber Grips, black, diamond checkered. They are terrific. I don't know what Tanker's weird game was all about, but I guess I really don't care. And yes, I would trust this firearm to defend lives.

I understand that. I went through law school nearly 40 years ago. That was why I used the word "spirit." My wife has a friend who literally has a "no guns allowed" sign on the front door of her house. I know that's totally allowed, but it sure doesn't seem smart!

I've always found it interesting on one of the ILLannoy gun forums how little appreciation the spirit of the First Amendment gets, when the Second is continually obsessed over. They say it's a "family friendly" site, though I doubt if anyone under adult age has ever been on it. You can't even use the word "hell." It defaults to "heck." It's nice that this TN site seems to be for adults, though having missed all of the now-deleted offending thread I don't actually know why Grunt67 got in trouble.

Also, note that there are different recoil springs for the LCP and the LCP2. Not sure which model you have, but Galloway makes springs for both.

The other items are both from Galloway. The 13 lb recoil spring really helps with the muzzle flip and perceived recoil, and while you're at it you might as well put in a stainless steel guide rod. I will answer this with specifics at some point over the weekend. There are Hogue grips that make the LCP immensely better to shoot, and you can put in a better recoil spring that will make the gun feel vastly better. You can make this snappy pain-in-the-ass thing that you don't want to shoot into something that is actually ok to shoot. That is as good as it will get. Shooting the LCP will never be fun, but at least it can be made to tolerable.

Dralarms, You might want to go try a refi. Whaddya got to lose? Some bank, especially a smaller one, might just say YES! And you might tell your current bank that's just what you're gonna do, and they might do something to retain your business.

Bingo, with the last post. The online auction houses really like to protect their integrity. It's their business, their lifeblood. Get them involved. As in NOW. I've done many dozens of these things. Get your auction site people animated on this. They are the ones that care about the outcome, arguably even more than you do, because they need to protect the integrity of their very being, and you're only pissed about one transaction. Technically, in an interstate transaction, you only need an FFL on the receiving end. I've done this multiple times (in online auctions) and never had a problem. Obviously in this case you don't have the auction site as a comfort level for your money. The only thing I can suggest is to deeply scour the particular forum you're dealing with, and you may come up with some clues as to the seller's integrity. But in general, sellers will never ship a firearm until they have the money. Also, it should be noted that some FFLs will not agree to receive a gun from a non-FFL in another state. I've never had a deal go sour, and I would add that when I have bought sight-unseen, any surprises that I've had as to the firearm's condition have been 100% positive. That's across a very large number of transactions. I kind of doubt that's the norm, and believe I've just been very lucky ----- So, good luck to you!

FIE Titan .25 ACP mouse gun, of Tanfoglio design. Bought it in Kansas City at K-Mart during summer of 1970, right after HS graduation. I think I paid $60.00. It has always fired fine. I might have 100 rounds through it. And it's probably not even worth selling today, but maybe breakeven in a FTF sale. Maybe!

Well, aren't things just special, from the Secret Service messing around with hookers (and cheating them out of getting paid!), to the FBI doing backflips in bars.
