I keep my AR the same way you described. Full 30-round Emag (not Pmag in my case) inserted with the bolt forward, chamber empty.

You could try The Outpost Armory if it is close enough to you. They have reloading components.

Not trying to feed your addiction or anything...but Specialty Arms in La Vergne had a couple in stock as of two weeks ago. I've got the .40 cal and I love it. Sweet lil safariland paddle holster too! Wonderful pistol IMO.
