I am biased and coming from a place where I grew up with shooting guns, had training as a police officer, and I’m not afraid to die to save the lives of others. Our society and schools have changed over time. Guns have always been plentiful. There weren’t shootings in schools 50 years ago. The schools weren’t gun free zones. So the cause of the problem isn’t the schools being a gun free zone. Back when I was in elementary school I heard tale of a teacher in a really rough school, I think it was a place like Detroit or New York, pulling a gun out and shooting a picture of President Washington in the head. The problem, as I perceive it, is multi-faceted. Children are no longer disciplined the way they use to be and if there is physical discipline the adult tends to face abuse investigation or charges. Children, in general, do not respect adults and authority as they use to. These children grow up to be adults exhibiting the same lack of respect and thoughts of entitlement. There is insufficient places for the severely mentally ill to be controlled while getting treatment. The list goes further but I have rambled on enough. By the way, I bet many of you would be surprised by the number of people Concealed Carrying in church. Our society has a serious problem that isn’t fixed by Concealed Carry, but it helps to treat the symptoms. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The shooters are obviously not thinking as what the majority of us would consider rational. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That would be nice however, my thought is better an armed teacher with a CCP than one without any gun when a shooter busts into the classroom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally, if a teacher (anywhere) can pass a psyc. exam and have a CC permit I would love it if they carried! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SD9VE Trigger Guard Alteration

I'm not concerned about that. If it were something like a Dessert Eagle then there would be no question. LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I was wanting to know if altering (file/cut) my trigger guard (up by where it meets the flat area) by a few mm would potentially cause an issue down the road. The laser sight I have would fit much better if I filed a 90% angle into the top front curve so the back of the laser would sit in it nicely verses the back 90% edge of the laser hitting on the rounded guard. Y'all's input would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shooting distance for qualifying for Tn hand gun permit

Yeah... She made it ugly (or at least her lawyer did) and for life of me I couldn't understand why because she's the one who was having an affair and wanted out. But that's history and I'm super blessed with a good wife now (13 years and counting)! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Sadly, no. Roughly 18 years ago a divorce happened and I had to liquidate to stay afloat while the now ex had everything tied up. She even threw out the box I had for it with the original grips, back sight, and receipt from when I bought it new in 1980. I'm just now getting to the point that I'm financially stable enough to get a few guns to have around for home/self defense (and modifying them to my liking). I miss my Python! It was a very fine revolver in perfect condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Thank you. I honestly didn't aim (just point-n-shoot) and I really didn't take my time (with about one to two seconds between shots) like I should have. I need to sight it in (new Wilson Fire Sights I believe) and practice with it. It's quite different than my trusty 6" Colt Python. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I just completed mine six days ago. I guess I did ok considering I hadn't shot in 12 years and it was with a new S&W SD9VE (first semi-automatic I've ever owned or shot). I think I will get better with more range time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Passed the written exam with a 96% and shot 100% for my Concealed Carry Permit. Also, if I’m lucky, I have a possibility of getting a SD9VE upper slide assembly (complete with barrel) for fairly cheep ($50). If I’m lucky enough to get it then custom milling of two front side openings (each side), two top openings, and barrel porting is in the future! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Well, I'm personally split three ways. The Glock 26 Gen 3 is a fine CCW. But up there with it, in my opinion, are the Taurus PT-111 G2 and the S&W M&P Shield (with Apex upgrade). However, I personally own a S&W SD9VE with upgraded sights, springs, trigger, takedown, 20 lb. SS Guide Rod, metal slide backplate, grip wrap, and mirror polished internal metal. It performs excellently and I would trust my life on it. Total investment: $400 and six hours of my time. At the range this weekend I shot a 1.5" grouping at 15', a 2" grouping at 25', and a 3" grouping at 50'. Oh, this is the first time I've been shooting in 12 years.

That is a bit more than I could swing right now. I will keep it in mind though and see if you still have it when I have $200 to go toward that. I really wouldn't mind having a second one that is mainly factory. Do you still have the box and original parts you replaced? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I’m looking for a SD9VE complete slide assembly (including barrel). Also I’m looking for a Knoxville Machine Shop that would customize (cut six openings in the front of the slide [two on each side and two on the top]) as well as cut two ports in the barrel that corresponds with the two slide top cuts. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
