  1. I agree on the Russians, I would hesitate to buy one at current prices . The Fin model 39's and model 28's are another story. They took the Russians and built a real rifle from it . They shoot great groups and it ain't hard to get them to do it. They are the majority of what I have and they were not cheap even when I was buying them. Try one , you will like it. Eddie
  2. I got a couple of nice Russian's but compared to the worst Finn I ever owned they are dog's as shooters . If you want a real sure enough shooter save your money and buy a Finn m39 or a m28 . They are ten times the rifle a Russian 91/30 will be . The Russians I have shoot ok but with the sights as they come there is a lot of difference in POA vs POI . Some are cantered but might be 6-8" high and some are not centered but are 6-8" high . The Fins have windage adjustable front sights and the lower settings on the modified rear sight's they used allow for 100 yard shooting with a point blank aim with the 180-200 grain bullets I load . Much better rifles. I am gonna thin the herd before too much longer and will holler at you when I do if you think you might be interested but they wont be cheap. The quality however will be as good as you will find. I just have too many and my son's are not too interested in the foreign military stuff so I will be getting rid of all but a few that I own sometime in the near future. PS: I missed out on the $100 dollar guns , didn't even buy the Russians when they were less than half that .
  3. I suspect you will need to get over the under $500 thing unless you are looking for junk . My Finns came from Wholesale 15-20 years ago bought out of their premium section and most were near $400 then . Are you looking for Russian or Finn Mosins and how many do you want.
  4. Pre covid price on 1000 primers was around $40 so $100 is very high in my opinion .
  5. The small sized Sod Buster.
  6. You can't . You can improve your skills by playing some of the tactical shooting games and going to school but in the end your mind set determines how you will react to having a gun pulled on you or being shot at .
  7. I carry a J frame 85% of the time and feel perfectly comfortable with that . If you can't hit what you are shooting at under stress and like to throw shots randomly like they do on TV then the answer is no . I do own autos but seldom carry them .
  8. I would have thought you would have to become a US citizen before you would be able to buy a gun of get any related permit .
  9. A model 12 Winchester or an 870 . I have two Model 12's , a 12g and a 16g . The 16 is my favorite . I actually prefer and mostly shoot doubles but the pumps are easier to maintain .
  10. My guns all wear flip flops so no socks are needed .
  11. They get gone if they don't get shot unless they are family guns .
  12. Read this . https://www.guns.com/news/review/the-most-deadly-mosin-in-the-world-the-m39
  13. Somebody had no trouble with the price , it's gone . The 39's , 28's , 28/30's are great shooting rifles . I have a hand full of each except the 28/30 purchased from Wholesale between 2003 and 2005 . All have excellent or better bores and shoot like a house on fire . Never seen one that wouldn't shoot 2" groups at 100 yards with the S&B 200 gr ammo . The rifles I bought were not the rack grade stuff that sold for under $200 but were the rifles they listed as their higher grade specials. They started in the $300 range and went up even then . The 39 will shoot right along with the M1 and '03 Springfield , just looks different doing it . The Russian rifles they are built from don't shoot very good , most I've shot are 6-10" high . + VKT = Valmet and Sako and Tikka have always made top notch rifles . Yup ! You can out shoot them with the cheap Ruger American and many other modern rifles that sell for under $500 but you are talking about a completely different type of rifle normally bought and used for a different reason . Not to mention the Mosins will have open sights and your Ruger will be doing it's shooting with a scope. Really can't compare the two.
  14. Favorite is my dads BLR 81 in .358 Winchester second is a 1911 '94 Winchester in .32 Winchester Special .
  15. Beyond any doubt not allowed by the company , PERIOD . Too many legal issues involved for them to take any other stand . Loaded in the car out of sight in the parking lot is legal by State Of Tennessee law .
  16. Drive careful . I've hit bottom on that lake more times than I can count . Be in 8ft of water one minute and 1.5ft the next . I'd rather fish Wilson or Pickwick any day .
  17. Can't you just get one converted to belt fed !
  18. Model 63 Winchester and Model 34-1 Smith & Wesson kit gun .
  19. I'd delete lanyard rings and sights on any handgun being carried in a horse .
  20. Charlie Sheen .
  21. HI Jack ! Welcome .
