I've sold a couple guns there and won't do it again. Both times they drug their feet giving me my money and there was never any mention of a 30 day policy.

That is an old post from last year. For the 2010 match, you have until August 11. -

Holy thread revival, Batman! -
Yep-he had an M&P. Funny you mention the one-handed shooting. If there were an IDPA match that involved only weak-handed shooting, I would mop the floor with everyone. I shoot better weak-handed than I do strong-handed. Go figure.

Someday I'm gonna get a hatcam. You shoot ESP?
-
MemphisMechanic and me doing our thing at the IL State. He took 2nd SSP-MA, I took 1st ESP-EX. My first match with a 1911, and the reloads will show that! I stank. I'm the guy in the green vest, MM is the guy wearing the hatcam. The last three shots throught the barrel are required head shots.

Cool! Bring that gsbell hoodlum with you. I'll try to keep my hands off you with that sexy doo-rag. I'll be SOing a stage, not sure which one yet. I may be in Puryear, will definitely be in MS the weekend after Puryear I believe--that can't be too far from Nashville. Not sure about GA yet--it's close to Halloween, and I have a little one now. GA last year was one of the best matches I've ever shot. -

You put on a sanctioned match and we'll be there. Ours is September 11 in Arlington and is only $55. Don't forget, Arlington is no farther from Dickson than Dickson is from Arlington. -
That's the guy. I've been so many times, I feel like I know him.

Thinking Of Switching To A Revolver For EDC
deerslayer replied to krunchnik's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
What type holster do you use for the EMP? I can't imagine a revolver being more comfortable than an EMP. I have a bad habit of getting lazy and throwing a +P-stoked J-frame in my pocket, but I feel undergunned when I do so. Underpowered (not that my 9mm EMP is a hand cannon), can't hit anything with it, hate the trigger. I pull the trigger five times and fire three shots (this is what happens when you shoot Glocks and 1911s from reset). My new EMP will help end this J-frame habit. I don't like loud guns (ok, louder guns), so the ported barrel would be out for me. -
Got it last year, but got out of it. Didn't really want to get out of it, but had a vaction planned and didn't want an extended trial Fing it up. I got out of it because it was my third time in 10 years. Otherwise, I would have been all over it. Your Friday appointment at the Cook is so Clyde Carson can lecture you about your civic duty. Then, you pick a week to serve, probably in September. During your chosen week, you will sit in a large waiting room. Bring your own entertainment. If you like to sit and read and be left alone, you will love jury duty. You can come and go (in and out of the room), talk on your phone, drink coke, etc. If Carson enters the room, it is because some judge needs jurors, and Carson will call 20 or 30 names for prospective jurors. If you are selected for a trial, you are free to go when that trial is finished. If you are not selected, you go back to your book in the big room until Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning, when Carson comes in and thanks you for your service. Piece of advice--at the Cook, sit on the extreme left or extreme right sides--this will enable you to quickly get in line when the week you want is coming up. It will make more sense when you go.

What are your pet components..What do you use again and again?
deerslayer replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
They did have a minimum 2K order for free shipping, but no overall minimum order. They may have changed, though. Whatever the case, I'm be ordering some soon--tell me what you want to try. -

I've had great luck with them. They are probably the most reasonable FMJs out there. -
More blemished bullets on Midway!!!
deerslayer replied to gregintenn's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
FYI When Midway offers "UPS Basic," UPS picks up the package and ships it to your local US Post Office. Whenever they get around to it, the Post Office then delivers it. If you want UPS to pick up your stuff and deliver it to your door, tell them you want UPS Ground. -

favorite powder: Hodgdon Titegroup favorite primers: Wolf favorite bullets: Precision Delta favorite brass: Winchester, Remington, CCI, Speer, Federal, Hornady, Cor-Bon, Blazer, or whatever other brass I pick up. -
Took about 4 weeks. They sent me a FedEx label, and shipped it back FedEx, all on their dime. This morning, I ran 100 Hornady Critical Defense 115 and 100 Federal 9BP 115 HP and it ran flawlessly. I also chronographed everything. The CDs averaged about 1040-1050 and the 9BPs about 1100. Out of my 5" Trojan, the CDs averaged 1140 or so and the 9BPs about 1200. I was surprised that the CDs were that mild. I was also surprised that 2" less barrel meant a 100fps loss. Also, the EMP is noticably louder than the Trojan with the same ammo. I don't think the feedramp was off, I think it's just too steep. Other folks send theirs back and Springfield does the same thing. Makes me wonder why they don't add a couple steps to their barrel-building process. As you can see in the pics, I lost some case support, which is fine with me. Less case support = more reliability. I've always thought the Glocks-don't-have-enough-case-support-and-you-will-die-as-a-result argument is hogwash. With ~1100 rounds through the gun, accuracy seems to be tightening up. Now I need to get rid of that pesky rear sight. The gap is too narrow and I hate dots on the rear. I'm also in the market for an IWB holster. Thanks to Springfield, however, the gun is ready to carry.

I don't think I've ever seen a semi-auto handgun that lined up the bullet perfectly with the barrel. How is the action any shorter than any other 9mm? Not picking at you or anything, but the EMP was designed for 9mm/.40 OAL. FWIW, the feed ramp angle does look awfully steep to me too, but I've seen feed ramps on other makes that look crazy but work well. The Croatian versions do seem to run well, from what I've seen.

Well, almost everyone else raves about how their EMP feeds anything. I'll know more tomorrow morning. I'm loving my new lack of case support. A few Austrian guns I have don't have mountains of case support, and they all run like small-block Chevys. Oddly enough, before I sent it back, it ran better with Remington 124 Golden Saber than with anything else (excluding FMJ). The GS is similar to #3 in your lineup. Go figure.

Difficulty tumbling and re-sizing my brass, any ideas?

You might want to look into a muzzle brake... -
Got my EMP back from Springfield this week. The invoice says they recut the barrel ramp, polished the ramp, and polished the throat. Haven't shot it yet. I'm kicking myself for forgetting to take pics of it before I shipped it. Here are a few pics of what I got back:
