  1. Agreed. In the last three years, I've changed jobs and gained 15 pounds. It shows in these videos (at least to me).
  2. My wife managed to video a few stages...
  3. Since I already have them, I plan to use Dillon size and seat dies (9 & 45).
  4. I did not wish to start a debate about crimping vs. not crimping .45s. So, let's presume I will be loading 9mm.
  5. 6.8, I want to set it up like this: 1. deprime/resize 2. powder thru expander (flare and charge) 3. seat 4. crimp 5. nothing This should work fine if the Hornady's optional PTE is trouble-free (I have read of some people having problems with it on brian enos). Hornady says to buy their optional PTE die if you want to seat and crimp seperately with a non-Hornady crimp die. For various reasons, I want to use the Lee FCD. I want to use only four stations because Hornady says non-Hornady crimp dies may interfere with cartridge ejection if placed in the fifth station. Did you buy the optional powder-thru-expander die? If so, why are you flaring and charging on two different stations?
  6. Please discuss pros/cons of your LnL. I initially plan to load .45 with a Lee Factory Crimp Die and Dillon size and seat dies. I have read that some non-Hornady crimp dies conflict with the cartridge ejector if used in the 5th station. Hornady recommends using non-Hornady crimp dies in the 4th station with their powder-thru-expander die in the 3rd station. Anybody use this type of setup? Any problems with the Hornady powder-thru-expander die? Also, anybody using a case feeder for one?
  7. Congrats to Catseye for getting bumped to SSP-Master!
  8. Want to sell your 550?
  9. Springfield RO or STI Spartan under $800. $800-1000, STI Trojan.
  10. +1 A Dillon 550 can be used to roll 400 rounds an hour, or it can be used as a slow, deliberate, single stage press. Most people who work full-time and shoot ammunition in significant quantity will soon appreciate a progressive reloader, especially if they shoot hanguns. Any competent person can safely operate one.

    Colt AR-15 9mm

I have a Bushmaster Carbon 15 9mm, and although I have no idea what it's good for, it's probably my all-time favorite gun.
  12. It was one of the more technical matches I've shot. I liked the variety it offered--hose some targets in your face, then transition to some 25 and 35 yard shots. It took forever. The two movers on the dog stage were unrealistic.
  13. Rickey, our little cookout has been cancelled--there's some nasty weather due this afternoon and tonight. Good luck tomorrow.
  14. 19.77 on the bonus stage. Suckfest.
  15. Ok, 14 is a son of a bitch. Beer does not help.
  16. Rickey, see you there. Hognut, if I win, you have to shut up for a year. I have a feeling that many MCTS folks will be pulling for deerslayer.
  17. I may come in last, but I could still beat you with my Kel-Tec P3AT. Rickey, I am off work this week and am going to try to get there at a decent hour this time. A few Memphis folks are meeting at the range Friday afternoon. Come introduce yourself.
  18. Who cares? I'll be there. I'll be the lefty cussing my Trojan. It will be my first trip to Montgomery, too.
  19. +1 for the EMP. I have carried one for about a year. Most people that I know end up sending them back to SA to get the feedramp polished and the chamber opened up a little (for free). After that, they are Glock-reliable with hollow points. None of this is necessary if you only shoot FMJs (not likely). I'm not crazy about the sights (I'm very picky about sights), but it's an otherwise fine carry piece. I carried a G19 or 23, but wanted something easier to carry. I had developed a bad habit of getting lazy and just throwing a j-frame in my pocket. About the same time, I switched from Glocks to 1911s in IDPA, so I wanted to carry the same platform. The EMP made sense and I'm happy with it. Ditto what Dolomite said--the 1911 trigger can easily be modified without even breaking out a file or stone. I don't have any personal experience with one, but I've never read anything good about the Colt Defender. I do have experience with Kimbers, and will never own another one.
  20. Copy. Rev. Jones at Bartlett Shoe Repair did the same thing with my first one. I really wanted a velcro Beltman, but the 40 days changed my mind. If we ever meet, I'd like to compare my Comp-tac to your Beltman.
  21. I needed a velcro-lined belt. I honestly can't see how it would be any better than my Comp-tac.
  22. STI STI International - STI Lots of competitive shooters use STIs--mainly because they are one of the more trouble-free makes, and there are more accessories available than many other makes.
  23. db, how long did it take to get it? I wanted a Beltman belt, but when he said 40 days, I went with a Comp-Tac and never looked back. I wish I could compare the Comp-Tac and Beltman side-by-side.
  24. Ummm...so are Fayette County schools. OP, I would tell them Olive Branch or Hernando if working in the southern half of the city, eastern Bartlett, Arlington, or Tipton County if working in the northern half (Tipton and possibly Arlington will probably involve a long ride no matter where work is). Collierville is good, but pricey. All this if kids will go to public schools. If private schools are on the table, consider living closer to work/schools with the understanding that inside Memphis city limits will add significantly to their property tax bill, along with longer police response time, mandatory car inspections, garbage pickup that sometimes doesn't occur, possibly driving through riskier neighborhoods to get home, and other benefits. I would personally not live in Memphis or annexation reserve regardless of school situation. Fayette County would be a great option if working out east and kids are in private schools. my $.02
