  1. Well, I put off tires another week and went ahead and shot. Gotigers, I saw a couple blue war wagons, but didn't see you. Which squad were you in? I was disappointed that there were no 300 yard shots this month. Had a ball, though.
  2. I am debating whether to shoot 3-gun or get tires. I just had an exciting ride home through a hurricane tonight.
  3. Yeah buddy, that's my neighborhood! Work also sometimes takes me to Chelsea/I-40, Orange Mound, and Frayser. I sometimes get funny looks when I drop the top and blast Leonard Skinnard.
  4. I totally disagree. My 115 FMJs with store-bought components breaks down like so: 4.6 grains of Titegroup .01 Winchester primer .03 Precision Delta 115 FMJ .07 brass case .00 (usually) $0.11/round = $5.50/box of 50. I think I'm saving more than $1, and my stuff is better than UMC, WWB, or Federal. Ramjo, set aside the small primer .45 brass unless you have a MASSIVE supply of it.
  5. Agreed, but the reality is that dangerous people will get out of prison and go back to their old ways (his second parole hearing is next year). I don't support allowing them to re-arm.
  6. Good gun, I've had one for 15 years or so and will probably never part with it. Having said that, if I had to do it all over again, I'd get a Smith 686. More aftermarket parts available (sights, etc) and now that I shoot competitively, I know a couple S&W whisperers. They can do incredible things with Smith wheelgun triggers.
  7. No idea, but if it were up to me, they wouldn't have access to guns.
  8. I ask again, should felons be allowed to obtain a carry permit?
  9. I did not misread the third sentence of your post, which ridiculed those who want to disarm all those poor, harmless felons. That set the tone of the rest of your post. I do agree that few, if any laws will stop motivated criminals from acquiring weapons. However, I don't understand why law-abiding people would wish to grease the skids for the non law-abiding to acquire weapons. It's much easier for me to go to the gun store and legally buy a weapon than it is for me to meet a thug in a dark alley and buy a stolen one. Why make it just as easy for criminals? Should convicted felons be allowed a carry permit?
  10. Does the Constitution leave room for us to execute criminals? So the previously non-violent convicted felon who shot my father in his driveway should be able to walk into Guns and Ammo and buy a Glock 17 after he gets out of prison for attempted 2nd degree murder, no strings attached? You people are NUTS.
  11. Lester, I was not specifically talking about gun rights. I don't know about the toilet thing, but I would wager that the majority of marijuana arrestees are not charged with felonies. I would lose no sleep if they were, though. Whatever the case, they will "mix with normal folks" either way.
  12. This may be what you are looking for... Rock Island 1911 9MM Mid-size - Two-Tone #AC-RI1911-9MM-MSTT
  13. So, what rights were "incrementally weakened" by SCOTUS during the 60s? More recently, ever heard of DC v. Heller?
  14. +100 Should Bernie Madoff or Robert Hannson own a gun? Should non-violent convicted felons be allowed to become FBI agents? Violent/non-violent criminal is not an issue.
  15. This is getting silly.
  16. My sister lives in Abilene, TX. It was 110 there this weekend.
  17. Scores are up: Untitled 1 Bresson's mouth continues to write checks that his ass can't cash.
  18. I have a Springfield EMP and an STI Trojan, and I did own a Kimber CDP Compact. The Kimber sucked and I know many others whose Kimbers sucked. I'll never own another one. I can highly recommend the EMP or the Trojan, although neither one is cheap. Many EMPs run flawlessly with FMJs, but hang hollow points on the feed ramp. Mine was one of these. Springfield sent me a FedEx label and worked on the chamber and feed ramp and shipped it back, all on their dime. Now it runs like a Glock. Others have had this same experience. If you are looking for something cheaper, I would look at a Rock Island. Lots of folks speak highly of these. I would spend the extra $30-50 and get the tactical model. If you want to spend more than $450, I would go ahead and get an EMP or a Trojan, depending on whether you want a full-size gun or a smaller gun. If you see a good deal on a Kimber, run!
  19. +1 Bigfoot is for real, though.
  20. I will be dealing with a very ugly week at work. However, I see it's time to dust your drawers again. I don't recall the last time you beat me with any gun, much less a polymer one.
  21. Probably so... Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert Yokozuna Davey Boy Smith (British Bulldogs) Rick Rude Earthquake Big Boss Man Mr Perfect Bam Bam Bigelow Hawk (Road Warriors) Andre the Giant Big John Stud The Spoiler Eddie Guerrero all died from heart attack, cancer, or drug overdose, most younger than 50. Probably lots of others.
  22. Still debating.
