I have one that I won in a match years ago. I put a few rounds through it and it was reliable with FMJ. Never tried it with HPs.

All I've done to mine is change the sights. I love Glock plastic sights...because they are so easy to remove lol. I'll polish the internals sooner or later, but I doubt I'll mess with springs on a carry gun. I was irritated that Comp-Tac wouldn't make a CTAC for the 48 and I told them more than once. One day, I realized that they make a 43 CTAC. I bought one and put the Dremel to work. Now I have the best carry gun I've ever bought with the best IWB holster made

My 48 is the best carry gun I have ever owned. If these mags run, it will be that much better.

I'm in the same boat. I have no use for a single action revolver, until I watch another Western, then I have to have one again. The 4 &5/8 Rugers and 4.75 other brands with the barrel and ejector rod shroud flush just do something to me. I'm leaning toward a Ruger because of the transfer bar and ability to safely carry six, but there's something about the three or four clicks of the non-transfer bars guns that's just music to the ears. For true nostalgia, a .45 Colt is the way to go, but I want a shooter and I can load .38s cheap.

There are probably a few former Pinto owners who are not mourning him.

Well, if he is calling Bartlett a utopia because he feels perfectly safe, then I guess you are doing the same thing. There was a beating in Davieshire back in the spring and I forgot about the bank robbery on Stage Road, although banks are arguably targeted because of ease of access, escape route, etc instead of whether it’s in a high crime neighborhood. There are burglaries (as opposed to robberies) every week in Bartlett. They usually involve items being stolen from an unlocked car or storage shed. The last person being shot in Bartlett that I know of was the July 4 incident I mentioned earlier. I don’t think Bartlett or Raleigh or Memphis or any of the suburbs are perfectly safe, but I think my odds are better in Bartlett than in Memphis.

I don't know anyone who would argue that the neighborhood behind the high school is a utopia, but I haven't heard of any recent shootings or robberies in Bartlett and I bet the news folks would blast it on loudspeakers if they knew about it. Where is "in the area?" Did the shootings/robberies take place inside Bartlett? Or are we talking about a few minutes west on Yale Rd?

If Mr. Cobb would be so kind as to share where I can get Russian AKs for $150, I'll apply for another credit card.

I think there was a shooting at the Taco Bell across the street from the PD last July 4th. A couple Memphians visited Bartlett to watch the fireworks and apparently had a disagreement. Anything can happen anywhere anytime. No one on this forum believes this more than I do. However, to imply that Bartlett is even in the same galaxy as Memphis crime-wise is just silly.

I agree to a certain extent with Cap, although I don't paint all country folks as junkies. I've spent time in "the country" and have found that bad things happen there, too. On the other hand, if you choose to live in the country and commute to your job in Memphis, you'll spend more time on a highway or interstate than the typical city dweller and be more at risk, if you believe all the hype.

That’s a bit of a stretch.

IDPA requires IDPA membership after shooting three matches, but enforcement is up to the local guys running the match.
-
That's quite a generalization you're making there.

Probably many of them are not as random as they seem.

Game changer if it's reliable.

Where did you fish from? Seems like years ago, the rules/laws/seasons got a lot more restrictive, at least around Destin/Orange Beach.

What DaveTN said--check your airline's website. Some are fairly straightforward while others are convoluted. Some don't even allow checked firearms.

At 45, you still have plenty of good years to shoot competitively. Tennessee Sports Foundation (tnsportsfoundation.org) outside Jackson and Desoto Rifle and Pistol Club in Como, MS (destogunrange.com) are cheaper options, but probably still over 50 miles. Natchez Trace State Park used to have a rifle range. Definitely over 50 miles, but free.

You gotta be kidding

Makes perfect sense, but there are some in the civil rights industry who aren’t interested in real reform.

Now the local NAACP is calling it a murder, according to WREG. LEOs arent paid enough.

Sounds like some Frayser citizens owe the Marshals a six pack for dispatching a stack of sewage. Thank God he didn’t get his rifle into the action.
