  1. ...and whatever head injuries I may have sustained from riding a bike without a helmet would pale in comparison to the head injuries I would have sustained if the neighborhood kids had caught me wearing a helmet.
  2. Yes, I remember riding bikes all over the place all day, bottle rocket wars with PVC, shooting arrows straight up, then running off in no particular direction when we lost them in the sun, all kinds of fun with matches and gasoline, and too much pyrotechnic/pseudo-explosive ordinance fun with black powder to detail on the internet.  I am lucky to be alive just from my numerous cataclysmic bicycle crashes alone.  Those were the days...

    Glock 43

Picked up one 3 weeks ago and it's my new belly band/running/bike riding gun.  Trigger was noticeably heavier than any other Glock I've dry fired, so I put a Ghost Edge connector in it and now it feels normal.  Also put a Vickers Tactical extended slide stop on it and now I can actually drop the slide with the slide stop (southpaw).  Still waiting on sights from Ameriglo.  It's my new favorite gun and I'll probably get another soon for the blond.  Can't wait to get rid of the Kahrs.
  4.   LOL true.
  5. Concerning the Carolina Cup reshoot, here's the other side of the story:   http://www.glcshootingacademy.com/2015-carolina-cup-stage-6-ruling/
  6. Lots of assumptions here--would be nice to have the actual facts.
  7. bullet 7.7 cents Black Bullets International 115 gr $77/1000   powder 1.1 cents Titegroup $20/pound = 7000 grains/4.0 grains per round   primer 3 cents brand-take your pick   brass -free   Adds up to 11.8 cents per round/$5.90per box of 50.  It's been a LONG time since I've seen any 9mm ammo near that.  Buy the case of 3800 bullets and the price drops to 10.4 cents per round.  Titegroup hard to find nowadays?  Fine, get some 231, WST, AA 5, Universal, Clays, etc.  Go in with some buddies to split hazmat fees or participate in a group order like some ranges/clubs do.  MSSA periodically makes a huge order from Gamaliel.  Reloading is still cheaper.
  8.   Why is it irresponsible?  They are simply demonstrating a few techniques and both Chilcutt and the reporter stress training and practice at the end of the video.  Chilcutt runs a martial arts school and is also a bad MFer.  Although he didn't advertise, I bet he would be glad to teach these same techniques to anyone willing to learn (and pay).
  9. Check with Dewitt Trailers in Oakland.  I don't have his number handy, but he should be easy enough to find.
  10.   I don't see where I put anyone here down and if you think I'm being impolite, you need to thicken your skin.    For some reason, I knew you wouldn't answer the question about Westboro.
  11.   The first amendment and censorship are irrelevant in this incident.  I remember my Civics class quite well.  As dolomite pointed out, 1A pertains to government censorship, which hasn't even been mentioned.  I'm not advocating for censorship, but for a little less stupidity.  I'm glad the Muslim a-holes got toasted and that they cop/security guard didn't get hurt worse than he did.  On the other hand, this was such a failure for the ISIS bunch (if it really was ISIS), that maybe instead of using a couple rookies who can't shoot, next time they'll send some of their car-bomb experts.  Hopefully, none of these idiotic events are held here.
  12.   I took your advice and checked out 2006, since my Tacoma is a 2006.  Only the Ranger ranked higher and all GMs were lower.  It will be interesting to see how they all compare in another nine years.
  13.   This "art show" hardly falls into the category of something someone may have decided not to do to placate others.  On the contrary, its sole purpose was simply to antagonize Mulsims.  In this respect, the organizers aren't much different than the Westboro loons.  I'll probably never be known as a Muslim sympathizer, but I don't go out of my way to piss them off, much less organize an event and offer $10k to whoever can piss them off the most.  If the Westboro bunch ever gets whacked, will you be posting about tyranny and censorship?
  14.   Beware electrical problems on 93-96 models.  I had a 95 Ranger that was a decent truck overall, but kept eating relays and GEM modules.  Years later, I read a Consumer Reports review on 93-96 Rangers that gave them a bad rating on electronics.  I was like "yep!"   Also had a 2002 with a "made in Cologne, Germany" sticker on the engine block.  So much for American made.
  15.   And I would bet a lot of those high and mighty types have been used to getting their religion scorned for years, but they haven't killed anyone.    This "art" event reminds me of open carry--yes it's your right, but sometimes it isn't prudent.
  16. I would spend the money on a new Tacoma.  I have a 2006 Access cab 4x4 SR5 V6 auto and it will probably outlast me.  A couple years ago, I saw a 2007 near twin to my truck with more miles at a dealership for $25k.  I laughed, since I gave about $24k for mine new.  The used ones are simply too expensive.  If you change your own oil, I would find the filter before buying it.  Changing the oil on my 2006 is a breeze, but my wife's 2013 V6 4Runner is the mother of all oil changes.
  17. I knew that M-1 Abrams I bought on Craigslist last week was too good to be true.

    New EMP.

9mm or .40?  The 9mm weighs about 27 oz, which is in the neighborhood of a Glock 19.  Not particularly heavy in my book.
  19.   +1   I got a Raptor last year and am happy so far.  For the money, it has the most bang for the buck of all the 42s.  It's hard to find a 42" ZT with non-sealed transmissions.  I think Gravely was the only one I could find and it was $1k more than the Hustler.
  20.   Read the whole article.  He says that we obviously couldn't do what Cherokee did on a nationwide scale (that's where your paycheck comes in).  The part that really had me shaking my head was when he admitted the rich "would not be getting as much benefit" because their taxes would be higher.  He seems to imply that they would break even.  I also wonder how he would define "rich."
  21. I knew that chicken noodle network was becoming dominated more and more by the loony left, but this takes the cake...     http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/01/opinion/sutter-basic-income/index.html
  22.   I wouldn't volunteer to take an airsoft round, but that doesn't make it worth a crap for shooting people who want to kill you.

    Kahr CW9

The CW9 would be the greatest carry gun ever made if it had a Glock trigger.
  24. Smoky Mountain Brewery in GB is my favorite pizza place.
