  1. ...and once they do half their sentence, all their rights should be restored and we should act like nothing ever happened.
  2. How are you going to carry it? IWB/OWB holster? Pocket? Belly band? Ankle holster? I have a Glock 43 that I bought specifically for the rare occasion I need to pocket carry. The 43 is small enough for me to pull it off, but the Shield and PPS are a hair bigger and are a different category of guns, IMO. If you are doing anything but pocket carry, the Shield and PPS are fine guns. I despise the Shield (mainly because of its trigger), but that is purely personal. I have some experience with the PPS and I like them. Depending on your build, you can probably comfortably carry a gun bigger than any of these IWB most of the time. The about-to-be-released Glock 48 comes to mind. Some slim guys say "I can't carry IWB" but then some chubby guys say "I can't carry IWB." With the right holster and a reasonably sized gun, it's easier than many think.
  3. Good luck finding a used 24. Glock makes them in batches every few years and some competitive shooters are quite fond of them. BTW, the 17L is the 9mm version of the 24. Both are gen 3 only. Neither weighs near 38 oz, more like 26 or 27. A 17L would be a sweet shooter, though. There are currently five on Gunbroker. A 34 in whatever gen would be an easy shooter, too.
  4. There is a good chance I will own one of the first ones sold in Memphis. Now if Comp-Tac would start making holsters for it asap...
  5. Well, this may be the Glock I have been wishing for for years--a 43 on roids or a 19 on slim-fast. In other words, a flat, 4" single stack 9mm Glock. Most of my carry is IWB and the 19 is chubby, often uncomfortably so. The easiest non-pocket pistol I have ever carried IWB was a Kahr CW9, but Kahr triggers are hideous. This appears to be slightly bigger, but similar. If it really weighs < 21 ounces, that's even better.
  6. What caliber is Chuck's Montana?
  7. That's some pretty good shooting with irons. I doubt I could do that.
  8. Yep, I remember that one. I was walking into our living room when it started. My dad gathered us all up and us us in the car. I've always wondered what good that would have done
  9. .243 or .25-06. .257 is a nice round, but ammo availability will be limited. The 6.5s and .260 with certain loads can be annoying in all but heavy sniper/varmint rifles if you are really recoil sensitive. Can't go wrong with a 70 or 700. Also, watch Bass Pro--they occasionally have a Browning A-Bolt II for $600 or so. The A-Bolt III and X-Bolt are more I believe. I have an AB2 .243 and it's a lightweight, light kicking shooter. I also have a Model 70 .30-06 and it feels about the same as a friend's Savage .300 Winchester Mag. The little Browning is a joy to shoot.
  10. Can't go wrong with 150 Core-Lokt. May want something fancier for your 6.5 Ultra Super mag and 400 yard shots, but for 50 yard shots on whitetail deer around here, the Core-Lokts are great.
  11. I wonder who will be in charge of identifying the "hate speech."
  12. ...and I will own one someday.
  13. Whether or not someone dies from a .380 or .22 gunshot is irrelevant. Did the gunshot(s) they received stop them immediately?
  14. I don’ t understand the difference between a gun used to “get the bad guy off me” and a gun used to neutralize a threat, but these are apparently two different things.
  15. Sell em and get a Glock 43. Most handguns suck at being manstoppers, but .380s are especially lousy. Unless you are 5’3/112 lbs, you can hide the 43 just about anywhere you can hide a .380.
  16. Ha ha, my daughter and I played Asteroids and Missile Command yesterday on a retro Atari machine we found at Kroger a couple years ago. It has probably 75 games, but I don't remember if Space Invaders was one of them.
  17. Put a spare trigger spring in your range bag and learn how to install it. If you shoot it enough, the trigger spring WILL break.
  18. This. Started shooting competitive action pistol about 10 years ago and pretty much forgot about other hobbies. Shot roughly 10k in the past year and will shoot seven sanctioned matches this year. Not easy with a 50-60 hour work week and a kid, but where there’s a will, there’s a way.
  19. The brown trucks that deliver to your house have nothing to do with UPS Freight. Two different entities.
  20. 1803 Brooks Road is a UPS Freight facility, as opposed to regular old UPS brown trucks, FWIW.
  21. It is authorized in just about every division except IDPA CDP (.45 ACP loaded to major) and USPSA Limited (.40 dia or above if shooting major). Major power factor = bullet weight x velocity = 165,000 or more. CDP does not allow anything but .45 because Bill Wilson is a dictator (and Wilson Combat doesn't make a .40) and Limited requires .40 or better to prevent 9mm major. More competitive shooters might use . 357 SIG if it offered any benefits. It doesn't. Many competitive shooters load their ammo and .357 SIG brass is scarce and expensive. Also, loading bottleneck pistol cases can be a hassle. In the competitive world, it can't do anything a .40 can't, and usually won't do it as well. It could do well in USPSA Open, where the guns use frame-mounted red dot sights and comps and is dominated by guns shooting 9mm or .38 Super major ammo, but it would be at a capacity disadvantage. For the competitive world to embrace it, there has to be some benefit.
  22. I'm no fashionista, but GAP 34/32 non-skinny jeans work quite well with an inside-the-waistband holster.
  23. GAP here, but I drive a 4x4.
  24. Hmmmm, I have a friend in McNairy County, I'll have to check with him. I would really like to be able get in there again.
