As a pretty serious competitive shooter, I submit that most shooters can put $200 worth of work/parts into their stock Glock or M&P and use the $1200-1800 they saved by not buying one of these EB guns on practice ammo and be much better off. A $2500 M&P? I'll take a 2011 if I'm throwing around that kind of money for one gun.

I got the same email. At least they are communicating. If they do run, I'll be putting that 20% coupon to use. Now if they would just make a similar metal G22/35 magazine that's compatible with Arredondo or Dawson +5/6 basepads, my USPSA Limited gun would be that much badder...

Craftsman definitely started to decline before being made in China. I have a made-in-USA 1/2" drive socket set with the teardrop shaped ratchet and it's a real knuckle-buster. It finally crapped out maybe two years and they gave me another American made replacement that is slightly better. Couldn't believe they still had any. There aren't many options like old school Craftsman tools any more. Either super expensive high end stuff or cheap Chinese stuff. I've recently bought Channellock brand American made screwdrivers and Taiwan made socket sets that remind me of old Craftsman stuff. China does actually make some decent tools here and there, but I try not to buy anything Chinese if possible.

Anybody who did the pre-order received your mags yet? I ordered two and was told they would ship in October. Not surprised that they are behind, just wondering if anyone has gotten their hands on one yet.

Check with the Franklin Gun Shop. I was in there earlier this year and they had several older VX-II and VX-III scopes. I'm almost positive some were silver.

Funny how USPSA Limited division guys shoot thousands of rounds of .40 each year and their guns don't come apart. And no, they are not using "powder puff" ammo.

Forced participation obviously doesn't and the government doesn't need to teach it, but I think the state sponsored religion thing doesn't mean students can't be allowed to pray. The "minute of silence" was supposed to remedy this, but the atheists claim that it exists specifically to allow prayer and therefore endorses religion. Allowing religion and teaching/endorsing religion are two different things.

The Henry is loaded by removing part of the mag tube instead of using a loading gate on the receiver. This is the negative of the Henry, IMO. Some may not care, but I hate the mag tube thing. I believe Henry recently introduced one certain model with a loading gate. If Henry made a 20" blue/wood .44 or .357 lever with a loading gate, I would own one or three. Henry has a great reputation. People want older levers for various reasons. The older Marlins and Winchesters didn't have cross bolt safeties. Purists detest these. Older guns seem to draw premium money and have some collector value, especially Winchester. Winchester's up-and-down financial status over the years probably contributes to this, much like Colt. Also, Marlins built in the years immediately after Remington took over have bad reputations, thus the "JM" marked guns (pre-Remington) are preferred by many. I have a gold-trigger, non-safety 70s era Marlin 336 that I will never sell. I might could get $500 for it today and probably more for it in the future, but I don't care. A similar .357 would probably be worth twice as much. IMO, it blows away new Marlins quality-wise. The opposite may be true for recent Winchesters. FN is making Winchesters now and I bet the quality of a new 94 is pretty good. I have a year 2000 or so 94 that might not be as nice as the new FNs, but it did cost 1/4 as much lol. Winchesters like mine can still be had for less than a new one (at least in .30-30).

I don't know--my ears take a beating every time I go to one and the muzzle awareness of the clientele is usually lacking.

I'm not a huge fan of indoor ranges for various reasons, but I plan to visit, mainly because I like Jay Hill and Ben Ferguson. I regard indoor ranges like open carry--they are not my favorite, but I definitely want them to be available.

What principle? Colt has been in financially precarious waters the past few years and the AR market is flooded. It makes perfect sense to get out of ARs for the time being. Their timing is unfortunate because it helps feed the loony left's narrative that retailers, manufacturers, and gun owners all support bans, but nothing indicates that Colt has bowed to pressure from the anti-2A crowd.

The licensed transfer agent is interesting. Someone on here the other day pointed out that, if background checks are so important, why isn't NICS available to everyone? The licensed transfer agent could be a step in that direction.

Commercial sales are apparently anything that is not a private sale. An individual-to-individual sale at a gunshow would probably be illegal. Yawn. If this largely symbolic measure is all Trump will support, the "apologists" should be the ones on this forum who were calling Trump a gun grabber a few weeks ago.

I handled one the other day and was impressed. They also recently released a 4” adjustable sight version similar to the one of 30 years ago. I shoot autos, but have a soft spot for wheelguns. Reviews of the new snake guns have been positive. I think Colt is on the right track.

I was in an elevator at a Sandals resort in Jamaica going downstairs to check on my fiancee's wedding dress. A guy told me about the first tower. I went upstairs and turned on the TV and was getting dressed when the second plane hit. I got married a couple hours later. Happy 18th Anniversary to us.
