I shot a USPSA match this weekend and squadded with an 11 or 12 year old kid who shot an 9EZ. The thing ran like a sewing machine. If it was easy to limp wrist, you would think this kid would have had trouble. He didn't shoot for score and only had two magazines, so he shot the first 16 shots of a stage after everybody was done with the stage. Man, if my dad had turned me loose with a 9mm handgun when I was that age, I would be a pro now...

I'm 48 and blowing up stuff with firecrackers was a civic duty where I grew up.

Build it! My all-time favorite model was a 1/48 PT-17 Stearman biplane. It was one of the first I tried to make look nice. I painted it Army Air Force colors (blue fuselage/yellow wings/red and white striped rudder). I skipped the red and white rudder decals and painted the stripes myself. I was so proud of it I displayed it on a shelf in our living room. Big mistake. I went out of town with my parents and my big sister stayed at home and had a friend over while we were gone. When I got home, I found pieces of my Stearman under the couch. It looked like it had taken a direct hit of FLAK. To this day, she still won't tell me what happened to it.

There are still some small pistol primers available locally. They're not cheap ($4.50-5.00/100) but they are still out there. Magnum primers are not useless. Bullets can still be found. If you can scrounge up a pound or two of just about any fast burning pistol or shotgun powder, you're in business.

Anybody build plastic model planes as a kid or still do? I dug a model Spitfire out of the closet and my daughter and I built it. Plastic model planes, especially 1/48 scale WWII fighters, are an old friend. I never had the skill or patience of the folks who built the planes on the box, but I still enjoyed it. When I was maybe 10 or 11, I quit throwing them together just to play with and tried to make them look presentable. This one looks pretty good from five feet away, lol. I did find out that I can’t wear contacts or glasses to do the little detailed stuff. Also, the pieces didn’t fit for crap. I read that a lot of the molds for Revell/Monogram are 60+ years old though. This one said made in China. I could be wrong, but I don’t think that used to be the case.

On a serious note, hopefully she outgrows blinking every time she fires a shot. That can be a hard habit to break, especially if you’ve been doing it for decades. I’m not surprised a seven year old blinks, but if not corrected, it can lead to a nasty flinch.

Hopefully, if she starts shooting a red dot gun, she doesn't discard it like she did that 19 when it went to slide lock!

That would be awesome

He's a good friend and I know him a lot better than I know you. Are you saying he's lying?

I have a friend who recently retired from the local utility company and he swears the exact opposite happens on a regular basis. The minority owned company gets the job even though their bid was higher because city-related contract decision makers give preference to them. One reason he couldn't wait to leave.

Someone once told me that if you gave Shelby County to Arkansas, the IQs of both states would increase. Being from Shelby County, I find that highly offensive and damn funny at the same time.

I bet anyone watching when it happened shat all in their pants when they saw that mushroom-ish cloud.

I think I still have one or two 20 round boxes left from a 1K case of Winchester Q3131 5.56 55 gr. FMJ that I bought at Guns & Ammo back in the day for $109. The good ol days.

Exactly. Just because it's unlikely doesn't mean it won't or can't happen, especially with the sudden idiocy one can encounter in public nowadays. The "average" gunfight is two or three shots at six feet or whatever. If this is actually a calculated figure, that means some gunfights were more than two or three shots. If you believe the "experts", all you need is a j-frame with two rounds in the cylinder and be able to hit a pie plate at five feet

Same here.

News to me. My daughter will go to Bon Lin Middle and the plan looks like five days/week. I think the high school is talking about 2-3 days/week. But plans can change fast.
-
Which school? Bon Lin Middle looks like it will be M-F.

...and the most ardent Glock fans change the sights within hours of buying the gun.
-
It’s about the same now. My daughter is supposed to start back Aug 10 (now moved to the 17th) and finish May 21 with a week off for fall break and another for spring break.

And/or academic retards. I have 0.0 faith in “virtual learning.”

Or discredit hydroxychloroquine until they can roll out a vaccine. Then you’re talking about real money.

Well I’m not the only one. “Defending the doctors” and taking something “as gospel” are two different things. I still wonder why these doctors were censored.
-
. For months you guys have dismissed any and all medical experts but now that some people have come forward with an opinion that backs up the president you suddenly take it as gospel.

Your mother is a TGO member?

I don’t think anyone here is taking anything as gospel. On the other hand, it is odd how some get their panties in a wad when anyone in the medical community says something that is even remotely similar to anything Trump said or quoted or supports. What is even more bizarre is that MSM and left social media immediately censor material that is favorable to Trump and/or hinders their agenda.
