  1. I would disagree. If a newbie is not competent enough to handle a striker fired gun, they probably shouldn’t handle anything without supervision or training. All the safety gadgets in the world don’t matter if the user won’t keep his finger off the trigger.
  2. A true badass.
  3. Yep, I noticed 20 ga. birdshot was almost non-existent last weekend. Can't explain that one.
  4. RIP Steelharp. Anyone know how his wife is?
  5. Agreed, but I think he was trying to say prices will be higher than they were because demand will be strong for a while.
  6. The demand for gasoline is not high right now. Ammo demand is. Also, ammo is not subject to the artificial taxes that oil is and we are also not quite as subject to Middle East volatility as we were a few years ago.
  7. Nothing personal but that’s wishful thinking. Not gonna happen.
  8. I won a certificate for a 17/19/22/23/26/27 etc. I paid an upgrade fee for a 34 mos. Not long ago, they billed my credit card this fee. Thinking maybe it was about to ship, I called them. They said it’s scheduled to be here January 15. Hoping that’s accurate. Meanwhile a LGS has one for $750. Think I’ll wait lol.
  9. Was just saying “what if?” Haven’t heard of them talking about shotgun shells.
  10. Wow, doing a little research revealed that the price for a new MEC 600 has gone up. You could probably find a good used one for $100 or so if you are patient. You probably won't save loading 12 ga., but if you already have components, it's a great idea to have to ability to load it, especially in this day and age. The local Bass Pro and Academy had no 20 ga. birdshot this weekend and Sportsman's Warehouse was almost completely out of it. No idea what that's about. You never know when some wacko will shoot up a burger joint with a shotgun and the Demos are talking about banning shotgun shells. I don't see a a run on birdshot, but nowadays who knows.
  11. I’ve used a MEC 600 Jr quite a bit and it blows away the Lee Load All. I picked up a second one used for $60. They are not fast—I can load maybe 100 rounds an hour, but there is no case prep/cleaning and gaging like there is with brass case cartridges. Whatever the extra cost is over a Load All, it’s worth it. I’ve had mixed results with adjustable charge bars and would avoid them. What gauge do you plan to load? Not sure about current birdshot prices, but at $5-6/box, it’s tough to save much for 12. On the other hand, you can save a ton on .410 and to a lesser extent on 28 and 20. I’ve loaded more 20 ga. than anything.
  12. Bass Pro.
  13. Neither one of us would have given Carlos Hathcock a run for his money, but we had a lot of fun. I didn't even know these targets existed. We talked about moving them up to 25 yards and shooting offhand next time. May be even more expensive than 100 yards in the wind.
  14. A friend and I squared off with a couple rounds of Battleship, .22 LR style. My CZ 455 vs his Ruger Precision Rimfire. The Ruger won the day. We started at 50 yards, but decided that was too easy, so we moved out to 100. Then the wind picked up and the round got more expensive. We added some last-minute tribal rules. Black dots are worth two extra shots. 100 yards:
  15. I admit that many a Trump supporter said that the virus would be a non-issue come November 4. I wasn’t one of them. In fact, I’ve told many people who said this that the virus wasn’t going anywhere. The Democrats smelled a majority Senate and thought they could use the virus to pass a $2 trillion or $3 trillion (or whatever the figure now is) woke wet dream disguised as covid relief. The more jobs lost and businesses closed, the more people can be paid more than they were making to stay home. The Democrats need the virus to last so they can milk it all they can.
  16. You described normal activities that people do during their daily lives, but omitted the criminal activity that is anything but normal but is becoming a lot more common. Hiding in a basement and worrying about the virus 24/7 has to be a stressful hobby.
  17. Interesting that you omitted them from your list, though.
  18. Basically anybody who doesn't work at a bowling alley or barber shop. Or a church.
  19. Exactly. There have been five kids test positive at my daughter's middle school this semester. Roughly 70% of kids are going to school and the rest are doing virtual. It's a non-issue.
  20. I hit your paypal. Be safe on the road.
  21. Right, but you can look at a series as one dose. Get X and you are good. Will a covid vaccine be the same?
  22. I haven't read much about it, but my biggest question about the coming vaccine is what is the plan for an end game? Will this vaccine be like measles or polio--one dose and good for life? Or will it be like a flu shot--different every year and always needing to be adjusted or redeveloped? If it's the latter, are we facing lockdowns and mask mandates for the rest of our days? Are people ok with this?
  23. LOL, right, the "Barney" load.
  24. I've never heard of +1 capacity in a revolver, but if anyone could figure it out, it would be German engineers. Methinks EAA has a typo on their Windicator page.
