This is news to me too and I do occasionally get out.

So who are these people and what do they believe? Did they buy guns because they didn't like the lawlessness they saw during riots last year? Cops not responding/being told to stand down? Are they now politically motivated to protect their right to self-defense and therefore gun ownership? Some probably are, but many are probably not. How many of these people were Democrat voters and will continue to be? I have three Democrat acquaintances who have recently expressed interest in learning to use a handgun and buying one. One of them is a Cal-Berkely graduate and is a pretty rabid left-wing zealot. One even wants a carry permit. Meanwhile they all voted Dem straight down the ticket and apparently plan to continue doing so. Is there a chance their views/opinions can be changed? Do they simply not fully understand the issues? Or are they afraid they need to prepare for a perceived Proud Boys assault or something? I don't understand their mindset or motivation, but all three want me to take them to the range. What am I to do? Donate my ammo to teach them to shoot? My standing offer with the Cal guy is that we will go when he can get 200 rounds of factory 9mm. I'm not sure how hard he has searched, but he hasn't found any. On one hand, I wonder if a couple range trips can make a difference and "expand the tent." On the other hand, I fear it is just a waste of ammo.

Exxxxactly. I don't trust Romney/Murkowski/Collins any farther than I can throw them. I've been through one assault weapons ban and it's dumb luck good fortune that it's not still law. Times are different now--this wacky left acts like the wife of 20 years who gave up her career to raise the kids and put her husband through med school, only to be traded in for a 25 year old beauty queen after he made millions. They want the right's spleen in a jar. Establishment career types like Pelosi and Biden may be posturing and bluffing some, but I don't think Kamala and AOC are. They want blood. Plus the Democrats learned a couple lessons form the first (flawed) AWB. I believe the socialist take-from-those-who-work/give-to-those-who-won't woke stuff and climate hysteria will get first priority, but gun control will come up, especially if there is a mass shooting.

Review and elaborate on the AP rules, then do a little shooting, which consists of a few shots of static shooting, then draw and shoot, then go over there and shoot, then draw/shoot/go over there and shoot. It’s not a marksmanship test and there is no timer. Just demonstrate you can safely handle a gun while doing more complicated things than you would at a static range. You’ll need a centerfire handgun, a hip holster, and maybe 30 rounds of ammo. A mag pouch will help.

I got qualified at 600 yesterday. To get AP qualified, contact the office to get the AP qualification form. There are two ways to get qualified—1. contact one of the AP ROs listed on the qualification form and schedule a time to qualify or 2. shoot a match (Steel Challenge, USPSA, or IDPA). Qualifying by shooting a match is much easier for the shooter and the RO. They can’t always meet you when you need them.

Deer hunting I assume? The 56mm objective will require mounting it fairly high. Also, the scope is 15" inches long and weighs 25 oz. IMO, it's too much scope for that size rifle and that shooting distance. I would put a good 3-9 or 3.5-10 on it, probably a 40mm. The 40mm still allows for good light gathering at max magnification and also allows for a lower mount. 9x is plenty of magnification for deer hunting at 300 yards. A simple duplex style reticle on a .308 is all that's necessary for that distance if the shooter is even mediocre at estimating range.

It’s not clear if we are talking about .gov or business owners. Probably both. I’m all for property rights, but should hospitals (most of which are privately owned) be able to choose to turn away car wreck or gunshot victims who don’t have proof of a vaccination?

Now that coronavirus vaccines are starting to roll out in the US and abroad, many people may be dreaming of the day when they can travel, shop and go to the movies again. But in order to do those activities, you may eventually need something in addition to the vaccine: a vaccine passport application. Several companies and technology groups have begun developing smartphone apps or systems for individuals to upload details of their Covid-19 tests and vaccinations, creating digital credentials that could be shown in order to enter concert venues, stadiums, movie theaters, offices, or even countries.

Since when do you need a passport to enter a stadium, a concert, or a movie theater?

Before you even bother with red dots, is the fuzzy front sight significantly affecting your accuracy or speed? Some professional action pistol shooters actually target-focus with their iron sight guns, and I'm not talking about targets only five yards away.

Doesn't sound like it was a violation of law, but UPS requires either the shipper or receiver to be a licensed manufacturer, dealer, importer, or collector. Not sure if a C&R would qualify as a licensed collector. FedEx will not allow a non-FFL licensed shipper to ship to another nonlicensee.

This. I also learned the expensive way that the included MOS plates and screws suck. I assumed that all those idiots having trouble with their MOS plates didn't use the right torque specs or skipped the thread locker, until I broke a screw on a 17. Now I have two C&H plates. The C&H is a much tighter fit. I now use this guy's method starting at around 11:00. And good luck finding green Loctite lol

No improvement for at least a year. More if the Dems win the GA Senate seats. If the Republicans win GA and Biden/Harris don't make gun grabbing an immediate priority, prices and supply could stabilize somewhat in 2022. If the Republicans don't and B/H does, it will be a long ride.

It's not a quad rail, but the Magpul MOE M-lok handguard is an easy way to add attachment points for only $30-40. Magpul sells all kinds of sling/bipod/light attachments for it. I have two and am happy with them.
