  1. I am generally not a fan of open carry, but if one’s purpose is to guard/protect in a potential riot situation (as opposed to carrying while shopping, going to the gas station, etc), it can be appropriate. Rittenhouse was not shopping for shoes at the mall. Besides, it’s basically impossible to conceal a rifle, which is what I would want were I in Rittenhouse’s shoes. Whether he should have been there or not is an unrelated issue.
  2. Yeah I couldn’t believe it when I heard Grosskreutz would take the stand. Not that he needed to admit anything—the video shows what he did, but MSM says Grosskreutz put his hands up as if surrendering when he was shot. Ummmm, not in the video I saw. But I am glad for his sake that he apparently still has a left arm.
  3. I bought five raffle tickets and have decided I will get a 45 MOS when they draw my name. You gotta be positive. The cop who took my money said they have been getting calls asking why they are giving guns away, etc. Uninformed people who have no idea how the purchase process works or what an FFL is.
  4. Right. Odds are that if it hasn't been put on a truck for delivery yet, nobody there can run in the back and put their hands on it.
  5. Fedex and UPS suspended guaranteed service refunds back in 2020 and reinstated them on the premium stuff a couple months ago. Will Fedex make the final delivery or is it the flavor that ends up at the post office?
  6. I love Popeye’s, but the one on Brooks Rd is a bit sketchy. ETA: I sent this to a friend who builds Popeye’s restaurants. He said there is some truth to this.
  7. Also, for giggles, measure the OAL of a few bullets and don’t be shocked if they vary by a few .001s. Some measure on the ogive for this reason.
  8. Glock donated the gun, according to the video. BTW, there is no gun; the winner will receive a certificate that entitles them to one of the guns mentioned. For an additional $55 (or whatever), the winner can upgrade to an MOS. For an additional $108, the winner can upgrade to a 40/41 etc. For an additional $175, the winner can upgrade to a gen 5 34 MOS and so on. I made up the upgrade fees, but you get the picture. Glock will ship the gun to the winner’s FFL in a month or eight (depending on what flavor the winner chooses). I don’t know any of this for sure, but I bet lunch I’m right. This is the same process that many shooting matches use for prize guns.
  9. Another gun “is going to be put on the street” whether MPA raffles it or not. I was at a sanctioned IDPA match across the river this weekend and bought raffle tickets for a gun I didn’t want after one of the female shooters helping run the match made a last round with the raffle bucket (she changed my mind). The last thing I need is another Glock, but I may have to buy a few tickets.
  10. Some generous soul is offering a Halloween special complete with 666 serial number on GB for the quite reasonable buy-it-now price of only $2670. Come on you cheapskates! https://www.gunbroker.com/item/914748024
  11. …and there’s always something to do.
  12. Loss prevention/security for one of the major shippers. I investigate theft, fraud, workplace violence, people fudging their timecard, supervise facility security, keep TSA/FAA/DOT happy, and keep us off the news.
  13. When this “pursuit of happiness” involves mentally ill men wanting to play sports against and share locker rooms with girls, it infringes upon others.
  14. Being on the set with a bunch of untrained Hollywood elites and real guns has to be terrifying. I can only imagine their gun handling habits. I hate to say it, but many law-abiding gunowners' gun handling/safety skills are atrocious. I often observe strangers routinely violating Cooper's rules. I compete in a sport that disqualifies you if you allow your muzzle to point past an imaginary 180 line that is parallel to the forward berm, so maybe I am biased. I would hate to imagine Baldwin's gun handling skills.
  15. I just wonder what all the "trust the science" idiots who claim to be pro-2A will say when St. Anthony says the science confirms that guns have to go.
  16. Meeeh...needs an ambi safety.
  17. Maybe they should be expected to. These same actors want to hang a gunowner out to dry when someone steals their gun and uses it in a crime. Responsibility goes both ways.
  18. $25 per gun purchase is bad enough, but 5 cents a round is lunacy... https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/cookcounty-illinois-gunrights-secondamendmen/2021/10/23/id/1041716/
  19. I wasn’t there and don’t know the whole story, but I occasionally deal with people who claim they are “constantly being harassed.” After doing a little digging, it often means “I don’t like being told what to do.”
  20. I mean Shelby County has problems and all, but at least we are not having mullet competitions… https://www.wreg.com/news/mid-south/feathered-to-near-perfection-east-tn-boys-compete-in-national-mullet-competition/
  21. It is becoming more apparent every day that one choice was a lot worse than the other one.
  22. Looks like people who got the shot have no reason to be concerned...
  23. I haven’t read it (probably not published anyway), but I know more vaccinated people who have died than I do unvaccinated. 3 vax 2 un
