  1. I know the two are unrelated, but she isn’t convinced.
  2. There is a camera at 64/Germantown that will send you some hate mail every time you run the red light. Ask my wife how she knows
  3. And doesn't need to be excessively loud. So no .357, 10mm, or comped/ported gun for me.
  4. Hopefully all the dot fans are practicing weak hand/strong hand. Without some substantial practice (with either setup), the dot can be harder to find than a front sight.
  5. One of life's great mysteries is why, when I have a 50-50 chance of inserting a USB plug correctly the first time, I insert it backwards 100% of the time.
  6. This is getting some attention from some state AGs: https://www.newsmax.com/newsmax-tv/guns-texas-fedex/2022/12/01/id/1098747/ https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/montana-ag-concerned-fedex-ups-may-be-tracking-gun-ownership-white-house.amp
  7. I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from CTD but I have no problem with their use of capitalism to make a buck. A fair price is whatever a buyer is willing to pay and CTD is willing to accept. I’ve seen some of their prices and sometimes they are stupid but the same can be said about some of the classifieds here.
  8. Pass
  9. Tennessee Sports Foundation outside Jackson was about $150/year. Your only other option that I can think of would be the public range at Natchez Trace State Park.
  10. I think it was Chuck Taylor who said “Beware of the man with one gun.” I don’t see anything wrong with switching from one platform to another for a while. But the guy who carries a CZ on Monday, a Glock on Tuesday, a 1911 Thursday, and a J-frame Saturday is not helping himself.
  11. Nice shooting! A friend got a Marlin 1895 SBL two or three years ago right before the price on them went sky high. His 300 grain loads were pretty stout, but his 400 grain loads were just plain no fun. Either one would probably put a whooping on a deer, as you demonstrated.
  12. I am no Vaquero expert, but I believe there are two versions and the original was identical (sizewise) to a Blackhawk frame. The "New Vaquero" is closer in size to a Colt SAA. There may not be enough difference between the two to matter, but it may be worthwhile to confirm which Vaquero that holster fits.

Another Marlin model 60 here. Also has the squirrel on the stock. Got it 42? years ago and I still have it.
  14. I have its older early 1980s pre-Mark II tang safety cousin in .30-06. It was my dad’s and I killed my first deer with it. I’ve always liked M77s. Nice rifle, GLWS.
  15. I've been there a time or two.
  16. …but the Ruger is a close second.
  17. As classy as the Security Six is, I have to vote for the 686. This one is a -3 made about 30 years ago.
  18. Luminox Sea Turtle
  19. Years ago, a friend was driving down a country road when a truck approached. They both got over, but not enough and knocked off each other’s mirrors. They swapped insurance information and the other guy lived on Needmore Road. When my friend’s mother heard that, she laughed so hard she almost needed CPR.
  20. "Look at this ya'll! They put Mountain Dew in this one!"
  21. I’ve read and watched several reviews where the reliability problems went away when different magazines were used.
