  1. You implied you knew of a solution with your response to grayfox. So I ask again, which of their proposals will save lives?
  2. Which gun control scheme will save lives? Then I guess you also believe that a kid doesn't have to be told at home that a black man is bad. All one has to do is witness the actions of certain black men.
  3. Yeah I’m a bit skeptical too.
  4. I guess my question is what is the difference, if any, between Lee’s order of protection law and a red flag law.
  5. Exactly, if the SRO tries to clown or joke around with kids and they refuse to participate because they are told “all cops are bad” at home, whose fault is that?
  6. Actually, I grew up in the poorer part of town.
  7. There are a few suburban kids who don’t consider him officer friendly.
  8. I’ve had numerous polite discussions with Democrats over the years about why I oppose something as harmless as universal background checks. It usually goes something like this: them: Why are you against universal background check laws? me: Because they are unenforceable. If I sell you a gun and we don’t tell anybody, how will that law be enforced? The only way to enforce it is by mandating universal gun registration. them: why are you against that? me: Because then the government will have a list of everybody’s guns them: Why is that bad? me: Because what I have is none of the government’s business. We have politicians who have said “we should do what New Zealand or Australia or whoever has done” and would use this new list to confiscate guns tomorrow if they could. Or establish some Red Flag law targets. Some are bloviating, but some are serious. them: Come on, that’s crazy talk. Like that could really happen me: It already has happened and is sometimes followed by mass murder. Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Cuba, Cambodia, take your pick them: Man I don’t think that sort of thing can happen here. me: Neither did they. I don’t think I’ve converted any gun-grabbers, but I have gotten a couple Democrats to at least understand how one step hinges on the next There are a few open minded Democrats, but I don’t think the “average Democrat” is willing to listen to reasonable 2A supporters.
  9. I don’t see what harm they are doing, but I haven’t witnessed the “prison guard” analogy in action.
  10. If we put Robocop or Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in schools and they terrorized children, I might agree with your concerns about SROs. But we don’t, at least not around here. The admittedly few SROs I know about or have experience with are actually fairly popular among students. They clown with the kids and get along well with faculty. Some schools even list their SROs as staff on the websites. My experience with them is mainly in suburban schools, but it would be a mistake to assume they are merely protectors and not enforcers. Suburban schools have many of the same problems as inner city schools. If by “concessions” you mean compromises granted to more restrictive gun control proposals, I’ll pass. I’ll willingly consider any gun control proposal that passes a simple two step litmus test - first, will it actually help solve the issue? Second, are those proposing the change sincerely trying to solve the issue? Is their proposal merely one of the prongs in a bigger agenda? Have they actually educated themselves about what they are proposing? Do they want to take guns while hamstringing police? Do they also claim that NRA members are all terrorists? When politicians propose banning AR-15s because the Nashville shooter was “able to fire 152 rounds in 15 minutes” (something any of us could pull off with a single action revolver), I can’t take them very seriously. It’s a rare day when the latest proposed gun control laws pass my sniff test.
  11. This may have already been discussed, but how are deer hunters or target shooters with long guns supposed to comply with this? I assume the bill's author has handguns in mind, but it says firearms.
  12. Sexton said Johnson was pleading her case not to be expelled and argued that she did not use the bullhorn or lead chants like the other two did. Any truth to this that you know of? True or not, I wouldn't expect to read about this interesting detail on MSM.
  13. Anyone who is curious about why the white lady was not also thrown out can do 30 seconds of research and conclude that she was apparently not as belligerent as the other two and picked up a few votes as a result. But rather than pay attention to any facts, racebaiters bend the story to fit their narrative. SSDD
  14. My understanding is that the county commission has the power to restore him, not the city mayor. If that is the case, I expect he will be back next week.
  15. I guess time will tell.
  16. I’m just here to help
  17. Around here lots of folks think the way to win is to be the loudest, but those two confirmed that screaming at their colleagues with a Sharpton bullhorn was a flawed tactic.
  18. Thanks! I bought a new P-01 from Cajun and they did the whole thing, including the hard chrome slide. It has their Pro Package (SKU 91199) and DA/SA is <7 lbs/3.5. I think I have around 1600 in it including the dot, LOK grips, shipping, and FFL. Wasn't cheap, but she's a shooter and a hellacious carry gun. Their website says they would do the milling like mine for $160.
  19. I am not aware of any proposed legislation aimed at regulating TV content.
  20. Microbreweries are (presumably) an adult venue and are private businesses. So whatever. However, holding such an event at a venue where children are always present, especially a taxpayer-funded location like a library, zoo, or museum, should be off limits. We are being told that first graders can pick their sex and that the voting age needs to be lowered, but the same people argue that 18 year olds are not mentally developed enough to own guns or be held accountable for crimes. Wonder why the duality? Whatever the case, hopefully McNally's apparent downfall will help 2A causes in TN. I'm not holding my breath, though.
  21. I won't, but I don't think they are always highly publicized beforehand. Years ago, a friend took his daughter to Disney World during gay week. He had no idea it even existed and was horrified and asked for his money back, which he didn't get. I guess you could simply argue he shouldn't have taken his daughter there. My daughter is in no danger from a priest or pastor. But bashing anything religion-oriented is another fashionable phenonenon nowadays that is also curiously promoted by the same people pushing LGBTQ.
  22. I agree that it's a fairly recent phenomenon, but so is just about every new show including some LGBTQ material that is completely unrelated to the plot. More kids' shows are including subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle sexual material, almost always geared toward LGBTQ. Now every month some teacher is found teaching something completely inappropriate stuff to first graders. Some justify all this being shoved down our throats as exposing our young to things that really happen and people who really exist in the name of tolerance, but there's more to it than that. If they want to increase membership and breed more like-minded people, indoctrinating children is an obvious means. Pedophiles would agree with you.
  23. I have no problem with the drag show legislation. LGBTQ folks can do whatever they like with each other, but when they wear fake boobs and a bondage outfit and do a stripper-ish routine at the local zoo or library and bill it as a “family friendly” event for kids, that’s a problem.
  24. I haven't ben there, but I've driven by it many times. I shoot a match near St Robert almost every year.
