  1. Oh dang, I need to start shopping for 5.56
  2. This is Pascal. My daughter named him after Rapunzel’s lizard in the Disney movie Tangled. Pascal is 12 years old, weighs six pounds, and has no teeth, but he thinks he is a wolverine. This is Cody. We lost him in February. He had 8 or 10 pounds on Pascal, but had a much better disposition. He always looked like he was smiling. This is our other dog, Teddy. Teddy is actually a cat, but may have more dog DNA than Pascal. Teddy is the friendliest pet we’ve ever had.
  3. I have 2011, CZ, and Glock platforms with red dots mounted if you want to try them out sometime.
  4. They made me a better irons shooter because I learned to shoot more target focused. The idea that you always have to focus on the front sight and therefore can’t pay attention to what the target is doing is becoming Fudd lore.
  5. I’ve always been a Dallas fan, but I was at a Titans-Jags game back in 2000 or so that was a hoot. Tennessee was destroying Jacksonville and two piss drunk guys kept yelling ”WHO’S YO DADDY!” every time the Titans did something good. Once one of them said “WYCHECK’S My DADDY!” I was in full approval because I had Wycheck on a fantasy football team at the time. RIP
  6. I recently bought a Daisy 880 after my old Crosman 760 bit the dust. I wanted another 760, but the new ones are smoothbore and just look like junk. When handling it, the 880 screams cheap, but it shoots well.
  7. The guy was carrying it in a semi-ready position. If he had had it slung over his shoulder, it probably wouldn’t have made much difference to a Midtown snowflake, but to me it would look more like a heavily armed guy just going about his business. Either way, discretion is almost always more prudent, especially with the Soros woketard DA Shelby County elected last year.
  8. I truly appreciate the work you do and the time you spend in Nashville. I think the average gun toting, law abiding citizen would benefit from decriminalizing posted locations a lot more than we would from long gun carry. I do hope (hesitantly) that long carry will pass, if for no other reason that in the gun rights legislation world, the best defense is a good offense.
  9. And I agree with you, but I am realistic about the repercussions.
  10. I think if it does pass, nothing good will happen as a result around here. I think a better issue to spend time and energy and political capital on is decriminalizing carrying past a no guns sign.
  11. That’s funny. Deerslayer the gun grabber. I figured somebody would bring out the “blood in the streets” analogy. Nice try. Actually it’s the opposite of what you claim. I am not advocating for any new laws. I do have mixed feelings about changing a couple existing ones, though. For the record, I hope it eventually passes and I hope nobody knows anything about it when it does. But you’re kidding yourself if you think malcontents (of which Memphis has a large surplus) won’t take note and adjust their habits accordingly.
  12. No, but Memphis gangsters don’t live there.
  13. If long gun carry is passed, do you think shame and condemnation will change the behavior of Memphis gangbangers who will inevitably start flaunting their AKs everywhere they go?
  14. I think that’s why there were no charges, but the news is saying the guy was walking around with a rifle. Misinformation rules again.
  15. CZ has been a little wobbly since Colt bought them. I know a couple people who recently left the company.
  16. What's wrong with the P10? They hold their own in the competitive world and I know several people who carry a P10C.
  17. Agreed. There is a push to legalize carrying long guns, but I think it would rarely be prudent to do so. Discretion is the better part of valor, or however the saying goes.
  18. But now leftist media is melting down because they think he was walking around with an “assault weapon.” It’s not clear if he was too close to a school, but he otherwise did nothing illegal. However, he is getting more attention than those who actually shot someone and were released without bail.
  19. Anybody know more about this? The news said he was carrying a rifle, but the pics look like an AR pistol. Rifle or pistol, it looked like a lousy idea. https://wreg.com/news/local/memphis-is-a-dangerous-place-man-with-rifle-on-street-tells-police/
  20. Dr. Pepper cans don’t stand a chance against my daughter and her Daisy 880.
  21. This. I trust my Dillon 550-loaded pistol ammo more than just about any factory ammo nowadays.
  22. I haven't seen .20/round 9mm that I would put in my gun. A friend told me that Academy had Blazer brass for .24 each yesterday. That is about as good as I've seen. I've been through these cycles several times now. Components are cheap>people get complacent and say reloading isn't worthwhile>Democrats win/covid hits etc>people freak out>ammo disappears>I handload for .10/round>people want to get into reloading. Back in 2018 or 2019 when primers were $22/1k, people on this site were telling me reloading isn't worthwhile. The same people were scrounging for ammo in 2020/2021 and probably standing in line at Academy every Thursday morning. I can still load pistol ammo for less than half what it costs if I use components I bought when they told me I was wasting time and money. With components bought today, it's still worthwhile. If nothing else, it's there when the next run starts and I don't have to hunt up and down hoping to find some.
  23. I don't think I've ever handled a Staccato, but if they are using the same grips STI did, there is room on the sides to remove material and thin them down. Extreme Shooters https://extremeshooters.com sells slimmed-down grips or works on grips provided by customers. I have one of theirs on an STI 2011 and it was worth it. Not that long ago, you could buy a complete Extreme-treated grip for under $200, but their prices have gone up (like everything else). I'm not sure if Extreme removes material from the back of the grip like you mentioned, but if there's material that can be removed, they have mastered it.
