  1. I'm glad the good Rabbi is in Nashville and not Memphis--that would be too tempting.
  2. Increase you OAL about .010" and you should be fine.
  3. How much $$?
  4. Sorry, but I think the terms "tupperware" and "plastic fantastic" are here to stay.
  5. My parents have a Troy-Bilt Bronco? from Lowes and it has done well. If you can, spend the extra $$ and get the automatic transmission--they are well worth it.

    ***** GALORE

Odd Job was cuter than her.
  7. The orange New York 2 spring will give about an 11-12 lb. trigger, and the olive New York 1 will make a Glock about 7.5-8 lbs. Neither will be as long as a DA revolver. I'm with everybody else--if you are going to carry a Glock, it needs to be in a holster.
  8. a very legitimate concern around here, too.
  9. IDPA match this Saturday, May 31 at MSSA in Arlington. Walk-thru at 9:30. They usually shoot on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, but due to certain circumstances, there will be a match this Saturday. $10 for members, $12 for non-members.

    first 9mm

+1 These are a lot of gun for the money: http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Sig_Sauer_P225_P6_9mm_Pistol.html
  11. You give lawyers more credit than I do--back when I was about 14 or 15, a lawyer tried to set one of his "traps" for me while I was on the witness stand, but I made him look like the fool he was. My friend's dad especially got a kick out of this, since this defense attorney couldn't outwit a teenager. The guy who defended the thug who shot my dad five years ago is fairly well known around here, but his efforts were laughable. In my experience, the intelligence of many lawyers is somewhat overrated.
  12. Once you get "qualified" to use the Action Pistol range (and it's not too big a deal), you can unholster, reholster, draw, fire, fire two shots, draw and fire a full mag, shoot while moving, shoot at things that move, shoot at things that move while moving, and generally raise hell on the AP range. The best way to get qualified is to go and shoot an IDPA match on Saturdays or a USPSA match on Sundays (after you join). Whoever is running one of those matches is usually the one who will qualify you anyway. However, you don't have to be a member if you just want to shoot these matches.
  13. Hmmm...if the Jews want to burn Bibles, I think it's their business. However, I think it's lousy PR, since they get their F-16s and M-16s and untold $$$ from a country that, for the most part, highly respects the Bible. Lots of folks blame Israel for our problems with Muslim terrorists, and burning Bibles probably just adds fuel to the fire. BTW, my favorite Jew is Sacha Cohen. Sorry Rabbi, but this guy is a hoot.
  14. I respectfully disagree. A few years back, I was on a big beanfield just before sunup and spotted a deer at ~175 yards. On 3X, I thought I saw antlers, but wasn't positive. I ran my Redfield 3-9 up to 9X, verified antlers, and downed a 7 point buck. I never would have taken the shot without that scope.
  15. I have served twice since getting a carry permit, but didn't actually get a case either time--just sat in the big waiting room and read a book and drank Coke, hoping to get picked for a big Mafia case and get sequestered for a couple weeks. My boss told me to get out of it. I told him I wouldn't get out of it even if I could. In Shelby County, nobody gets out of it, unless they simply don't show up. One friend used this method successfully. I do think there are those who shouldn't be forced to serve--single moms, etc. I wouldn't miss it for the world, though. Coincidently, my wife has it in three weeks, and I am jealous.

    Im Drunk

Going to Fall Creek Falls tomorrow--will probably end up in front of a campfire with either a Miller Lite or a Coke & rum.
  17. Don't listen to their BS. They're just stirred up because they're out of Viagra and their Depends are full again.
  18. Just come out to MSSA and be done with it. It's cheaper than RUSA, and twice the fun.
  19. He's just such a sweet, pleasant old feller..I have no doubt.
  20. Hmmm...although I spend most of my ammo allowance on 9mm, my first love is bolt action rifles. I spend most of my shooting free time shooting or practicing for IDPA, which is the polar opposite of shooting a bolt action. One is fast and furious and "close enough" is often great if it's quick. The other is slow and precise. IDPA is a blast; rifle shooting is not exactly fun, but highly satisfying on a good day. Good thing I have two trigger fingers.
  21. I know where you're going with this and I basically agree, but technically, a Glock w/one in the pipe is condition 2, because a Glock is not cocked until the trigger is partially pulled. Back in the day, the ATF classified the Glock as a double action for this reason. Otherwise, the Glock probably never would have been imported. Just imagine, had it not been for the ATF, Mars would have at all nothing to bitch about!
  22. .45 will work well, but ammonia in a bottle will be more practical. Save the hand cannon for the two-legged critters.
  23. Hmmm...this is news to me. Why didn't you introduce yourself? I haven't been up there on Tuesday night in a while. That work thing takes up so much free time...
  24. Another "Evan had too much free time" thread. Another job well done. Wish I had your talent.
  25. Reading back through the posts...I don't think it was a "Glockster" who originated the comparison.
