  1. I may be a bit leary of the earlier M&Ps, but a used Glock is just about as good as a new one. I wouldn't be afraid of a used one from Summit.
  2. SIG SAUER P6 9MM : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com SIG SAUER P6 9MM (9 MM, LIKE P225 225) IN BOX : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com
  3. In that case, I'd look for a used Glock 19 or Smith M&P. Either are 10X the gun as any in your original post. Also, if they are still available, a SIG P6 (aka SIG 225) may be just the ticket.
  4. pm sent
  5. If you want more daylight on each side of the front sight, check Ameriglo. They have all kinds of options. They have always been cheaper when I call and talk to them. Ameriglo My Glock 19, which serves as my carry gun 90% of the time, wears one of their plain back rear "Combat" sights w/ a .200" rear opening and a .125" front tritium sight. There's LOTS of daylight, maybe a bit too much. IIRC, their "Pro Series" rear sights have .180" rear notches, and they are a perfect match for the .125" front, IMO. Don't be afraid to call them--they are very friendly.
  6. The plain-jane $25 Uncle Mike's kydex/plastic paddle holsters seem to work well for women. They are illegal in IDPA for men (due to excessive offset), but women are good-to-go.
  7. MO State Championship this past weekend. I'm the lefty in the black DP hat and green vest, and MemphisMechanic is the lefty in the camo vest. Charles Parisi ran a great match
  8. I'm still debating whether or not to go. I came close to getting bumped up in ESP in MO this weekend, and felt I shot pretty good. I kinda want to go to Manchester while I'm still "warm."
  9. Baloney. MSSA is only 5 minutes away...
  10. STI Trojan--there is no other.
  11. 2000 Kawasaki ZR-7 and a 2004 250 Ninja. Probably gonna sell both soon--just don't have time to ride any more; haven't really decided yet. If the price is right, I may include the blond with the 250.
  12. Good luck to your friend and my prayers are with him. Don't hesitate to call Carolyn Chambers--if she is who I remember, she's a great lady, and will be lots of help. Head injuries are so unpredictable. If the brain swelling went down before they had to remove any skull, that's a great sign.
  13. Canyn, no need to unload lots of $$ on a scope just yet--that Tracker will do well for a while. I bought one of these back in the mid-90s, and I think I paid ~$150 for it new. I wasn't overly impressed with it, but it served me well. It was extremely durable, but the glass could have been better--it wasn't the brighest scope I'd ever used. My dad ended up with one, and his seemed brighter, though. Now, my deer rifle has a Redfield Low Profile Widefield 3-9, and it's on par with a Leupold VX-II series. If you do upgrade, I'd look at Leupold before anything else.
  14. I've never used them, but a friend recently bought some from CTD--2" 00 buck w/ 6 pellets. I thought they would be mousefarts, but he said they thumped on both ends. He has a new 8-shot Mossberg 500, and they fed without a problem.
  15. I wonder what "lightly used" means? I wouldn't be suprised if Glock considers <5000 rounds to be lightly used. I bet the used replacement barrel will do well.

    LCR or 642?

442/642, definitely. The Ruger cannot do anything better than the Smith, but does offer potential bugs (recalls), fewer available holsters/accessories, and the undisputed title of ugliest gun ever made.

    G-27

That was an entertaining series of videos, especially the one about the "squirrel rifle."
  18. ??? 3.2 grains of TG barely makes power factor out of my Glock 34.
  19. Nice rifle. That bench looks strangely familiar...
  20. The difference between gas hoarders and ammo hoarders is that there was/is no fear that gasoline will be heavily taxed or even banned outright. Temporarily unavailable, possibly; more expensive, definitely, but not taxed astronomically or even never to be seen again, like what could happen to ammo. Many seemto forget that Clinton supported an outright ban on .32 ACP, .380, and 9mm because, according to him, they were the calibers most often used in crimes. For the record, I don't remember the last time I bought much ammo; most of my ammo resources go into reloading. If an individual profits from an opportunity in the free market, then more power to him--that's capitalism at its finest. Hopefully he has his tax ducks in a row. Whatever the case, I can go to my local Bass Pro and get pallets of .22 or .410.
  21. No trip to Gatlinburg is worth the gas unless you hike Mt. Leconte and take in the views from Cliff Top and Myrtle Point. The city is just an overcommercialized money trap.
