My new Cumberland Valley Rifle
Pickaroon replied to Choatecav's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Very nice. I’m not interested in BP but just met Tip Curtis the other day as he lives near me (Cross Plains TN). He’s very well known in muzzle loading circles. -
I agree. That may be my strategy to pick up a Ruger LCP .22. “ I love you so much I just bought you this cute little pistol”.
-
I couldn’t find it either.
-
What’s amazing is how much even bolt actions are influenced by the AR15.
-
What is a 416?
-
How about the new Ruger LCP .22?
-
The forward mounted scope idea is silly IME. Try somebody else’s before you drop the coin like I did.

For a long time I thought I wanted a 9mm AR - until I shot one. I found out the recoil was as sharp as I’d heard. Not like a 30-06 or 12 gauge - just sharp and not fun. No thanks.

Rock bottom value of a Garand

That thing is awful. No offense to anybody. I wouldn’t have it in my house. -
Nose to charging handle when you use the iron sights. I sight in for a 6 o’clock hold at 100 yds where point of impact is centered on the bullseye. That’s using the small aperture. Red dots are great but you see a starburst if you have astigmatism.
-
I’d buy one at $238. Over $300 no. Best to wait awhile.
-
Anybody know when these will hit stores?
-
2 drawbacks to conversions are possible leading of your gas port and poor accuracy due to not having a 1-16 twist barrel. That said, the CMMG kit at RTB is really good.
-
Good . Hopefully quality will improve.
-
I want one but would have preferred an extra mag instead of the pocket holster. Curious to see LGS price.
-
.....mags for Ciener type AR conversions? I’m not real happy with the CMMG mags. Any sources in Nashville?

Hallelujah! an 1892 parts gun reborn!

The neat thing is you can take it out and shoot it without worryingly about shooting a valuable collectible. -

That’s outstanding. Seriously. How does it shoot? -
.......who is good at trigger jobs on S&W revolvers? Specifically a 638 snubnose. Any ideas on cost?
-
It's a 638-3. And sure enough it does say +P on the barrel! Thanks.
-
I thought +P was not recommended for Airweights.
