  1. The deciding factor for me, between those 3, would be that the Henry AR-7 stores inside itself. DISCLAIMER: I don’t traipse around in the woods (some call it hiking or camping). But if I did, I would want my AR10 with 20 rounds of .308.
  2. Yep, they are expensive. I’m going to have to bite the bullet though. I need to shoot some guns and I’m not real big on the cold. At least my local indoor range has stayed at $20 a day instead of $20 an hour like some.
  3. Yeah, my bedside gun is a 4” 686 loaded with 158 grain Federal Hydra shoks. I wouldn’t want this single action for a home defense gun.
  4. I didn’t watch the whole interview; I didn’t need to. He isn’t going to prison because he talked to Police without a lawyer. He would have gone to prison anyway.
  5. They have these things they call “Indoor ranges”...I know, its crazy!! But they turn on the heat and let you shoot inside the building!
  6. I have shot 500 S&W and I’m okay with those; so I guess I’ll be okay with .44Mag. What surprises me is at first glance it appears I an buy .44Mag for less than I can buy .44 SPL.
  7. It doesn’t. And neither does threatening bloodshed. As I said, I looked at several variations of this story and folks are putting their own spin on it. From armed citizens showing up to engage the Police to “Nothing Happened”.
  8. I’m also confused as to why this is being called a “RED FLAG” matter. There are several different stories, but it appears his wife/girl friend accused him of domestic violence and he flipped out when the cops arrived. Are those pictures of him dressed as tactical tommy and saying if he doesn’t get a promise he won’t do jail time, there will be blood, from this standoff? It sounds like it ended peacefully. Some sources say he was arrested, some say he wasn’t. We can no longer even get a story with a reporter on the scene reporting the facts. This is crazy. They all want to get both sides wound up.
  9. There are plenty of articles on “Made in Germany” sigs and how people get scammed. You might want to check those out if you are paying a premium for that.
  10. I got a Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk .44Mag in a trade tonight. A few “Firsts” for me. First Ruger Revolver, First Single action, First .44Mag. I’m pretty much a Smith & Wesson guy and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get onboard with this single action business, or if I’ll even keep this. But this thing is a monster. If I ran out of ammo; I could use it as a club.

  12. We can make all the arguments we want against outlawing private sales without a background check. We can argue about whether or not criminals will still get guns. But none of that matters. All that matters is how politicians will vote when it comes to the floor for a vote. I didn’t think after seeing what has gone on the last couple of years, that anyone could vote for a Democrat for anything. But as you saw recently; democrats are still being elected. Republicans are going to have to make the decision on whether or not they want to vote against requiring a background check for everyone. I don’t expect to see many vote against it. That’s sad, I bet that is how it goes. If you think the Feds are limited in what they think they can do; you haven’t been watching the hearings the last few days. Get ready. I now think the Feds are going to try to have Federal Law require a background check on all gun sales. They will claim it is a "reasonable restriction" on the 2nd amendment. It will fly through the house and I doubt they will have a lot of trouble getting it through the Senate. Then it will be law unless the SCOTUS shoots in down later.
  13. I'd look at the list of dealers that already have their FFL on file with whoever I was ordering from, and see if folks here have used the ones close to you. On some sites they give the transfer price in the listing of available FFL's.

  15. .From another site.....
  16. That would be an excellent deal if I didn't have to go to the store to get it.
  17. Prezactly! That's why I wouldn't want a designer caliber. .308, 30-06, .243 won't break the bank. .223 is about as cheap as you can get, and makes a great target round, but I wouldn't think most would want it for a deer round.
  18. Ha, ha ha. That’s what I was thinking Mec-Gar is some high quality stuff. But I didn’t post that because that wasn’t what he was asking. I bought some mags for an M1 Carbine that just wouldn’t work. I think they were ProMag, but I’m not absolutely sure.
  19. No, I haven't shot it yet.
  20. Don’t you live Shelbyville? I’d go see what SLC will do. I used them for my transfers when I was working down there. If I decide to go that route I’m going to check with Mid Tenn's Pawn & Loan in Murfreesboro. I just used them for my last transfer. They are expanding and might be interested in helping. They also have their FFL available on their web site for downloading so you don’t have to mess with trying to get them to send it to someone.
  21. Yes, that's what I got, only in black. I posted the link on the previous page; its still good.
  22. Darn it!! Now our Leupolds will move closer to the price of those scopes you buy that us mere mortals can’t afford.
  23. No, not that either?
  24. My issues have nothing to do with strength or the size of the bike.
  25. Thanks. I understand also, at 65 I am having to make decisions about keeping or selling my Harley. Yep, getting old sucks.
