Yes, I have a S&W Model 617 as training gun for my revolvers. And it's an excellent idea for training and trigger time. I want one for my M&P handguns, but S&W has failed miserably at that. From the specs it appears Glock failed today also. There are plenty of Engineers in Tennessee that could keep the slide of a Tupperware gun light enough for the .22 to be able to work the action while keeping the weight and the balance of the gun the same as its big brothers. Too bad Smith & Wesson and Glock don’t have any Engineers like that. My last new M&P M2.0 4” Compact in 40S&W cost $330 + a transfer. I’d gladly pay that for a .22 the same size and same weight. But I wouldn’t pay that for one that feels like I’m shooting a BB gun. That's what the M&P .22’s feel like when you pick them up.

With a Taurus TX22 around $235 and a Ruger Wrangler under $200; S&W and Glock both did a half azz job of making a gun anyone will want to spend any money on.

He's not saying its a fixed barrel. If I heard him right it said it has fixed barrel accuracies. I guess the truth of that statement would depend on who he is comparing it to.
-
The marketing guy claimed the accuracies of a “Fixed Barrel”. By fixed barrel, does he mean like the Ruger Mark IV Competition (“fixed” as in sights and barrel) or the Smith & Wesson 617 (as in the barrel doesn’t move)? Do you think they are going to claim the accuracies of those two guns?

Putting all my kidding aside, I’m jealous if you Glock guys actually have a .22 that is the same size and same weight as a Glock 19. Is it? Smith & Wesson let us down on the M&P. The 617 is so popular and demands a high price, even in the used market, because it is a full-size K-Frame pistol. It is a true trigger time option for Revolver shooters. But they failed miserable on the M&P. The first one was made overseas by a BB gun company and was a POS. The second try for those of us that wanted an S&W made M&P 22, was also a failure. It was a compact, but was at 80% of the size, and just over half the weight; another failure. So if you guys got a real Glock 19 in .22 cal, Glock did you right; kudos to them. If its just another light weight .22 trying to act like its big brother; please disregard the above.

I heard them saying on the news last night that be could buy because he had some kind of “special” diplomatic status or something. Of course once you have made up your mind to murder a bunch a people, laws don’t matter, so all you need is money; in any state

That's not the right attitude to have. I'm ready to be amazed. I even signed up. I'm just hoping it's not so amazing I get all teary eyed. legendary News!! How can you not be excited about that?? I bet I have trouble getting to sleep tonight. I've never had any desire to own a Glock; but I'm guessin’ that's all going to change tomorrow.

Imagine that.

I guess that instructor is lucky to be alive now that we know the murderer was not mentally stable enough to be in the military, any military, let alone anywhere near a fighter aircraft. But somehow this will probably be the fault of that instructor and Trump. I doubt the people that vetted this whack job (if anyone did) will take any responsibility.

For guns and scopes I have used the Wheeler FAT wrench for several years. https://www.wheelertools.com/gunsmithing-tools/wrenches-and-screwdrivers/fat-wrench-with-10-bit-set/553556.html#start=1 They now have digital. I've not used it, but it looks interesting. https://www.wheelertools.com/gunsmithing-tools/wrenches-and-screwdrivers/ Of course the prices are less on Amazon.

I wouldn’t want a 44 for a Bed Side gun, for all the obvious reasons. Don’t you have a 4” revolver in .38 or .357? Unless you have an attachment to that 29; I would try to do some trading and end up with a 4” K or L frame .357. Man, I wish I had a shooting range in the backyard; good for you.

I didn't get long winded because of those three words. Out of state or multi-state, that we could carry on about for hours, does not apply to him. He must have a Tennessee ID.

I would guess any WalMart that has an optical department would have them. But I could be wrong.

Defies common sense doesn’t it. But whoever suggests stopping it will be labeled a racist; watch and see.

When did that start?

I had the honor of attending the 60th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. It was something I will never forget.

There are provisions in the law for those that have residents in two states. But since you say you left NY; it doesn’t sound like they would apply to you.

Good question. I’m just guessing here, but it sounds like the Base Police may have “Locked down” and they waited to breech the building. But that’s just a wild azz guess. It could have been the Deputies were right outside the gates, or even at the gates for some reason, when the call went out and were some of the first on the scene. I also suspect that it will turn out that a foreign national that wasn’t authorized walked or drove onto a U.S. military base unchecked. I don’t believe he could have been living in Pensacola for 10 months and then authorized to go to training. Of course, I could be wrong.

All able-bodied Men & Women should do that if even for a short time. Luckily you are not in a state where you need to do it to have gun privileges. It’s a good thing that these Sheriffs are doing, as long as citizens don’t believe they can protect them if they break the law.

Many games are played with where a gun is actually manufactured. So unless the manufacturer or the sellers tell you; it tough sometimes to find out. Federal law requires the name and city of the importer be on the gun. So if Walther USA in Fort Smith is the importer; I don’t know how it could not say that. With Walther I would be more interested in who made them than where they were made. They could have been made by a BB gun manufacturer.

Interesting story, but I think it’s crazy that all the headlines are fake news just like on everything else. I guess they think having a headline that Ruger is suing Smith & Wesson will get more clicks…and I'm sure it does; even though it isn't true. https://www.unionleader.com/news/business/sturm-ruger-takes-smith-wesson-to-court-over-its-iconic/article_8158e5ce-38f4-5167-aeb0-e85979a2c895.html https://www.captainsjournal.com/2019/12/05/ruger-takes-sw-to-court-over-10-22/

The Royal Range that's about a 2 hour round trip?

That’s an impressive video, thanks for posting that. I’ve ordered a couple of guns from them but had no idea how big or how diverse they are. 100% Customer Satisfaction, 100% of the time is a very ambitious goal. They would be the first gun company in a long time to obtain that. Add a 100% lifetime warranty, and that’s a heck of a deal. It’s interesting to see that instead of throwing a product out at any exorbitant cost like some companies do; they know where the price point is for the big customer base they want. But they should have gagged that AK guy and stuck him in the corner somewhere; he wasted too much video time.
-
Probably. Because even the Russians would know that no one buys anything at the Smith & Wesson Online store. All that stuff is offered at a lower price on S&W vendors websites. Call me paranoid, but that’s why I won’t text pictures, or give out a phone number on gun deals until we are near a deal. Too many people are going after anyone that has anything to do with guns. They are trying to put names with phone numbers and email addresses. When someone wants me to text pictures of “the item” to them; somethings up.

Maybe old ladies won’t be able to operate it, and they will be stuck with a .380.
