No one is going to randomly go door to door. And I’m pretty sure local law enforcement won’t need the help of the National Guard. If the law passes, they will seize them and make arrests as they find them or gain information on those who process them. Just as they do now in NJ and MA. (although MA didn’t pass legislation. They started enforcing old assault weapons bans.) The only way to change that is to either vote the people that made or enforce those laws out of office or get the SCOTUS to rule that outlawing an AR is unconstitutional. Democrats get elected because their voters either want paid by the government or want the government running their lives (perceived protections). To gain that, they are willing to give up freedoms, such as 2nd amendment rights, and pay more taxes.

Shooting issue that only happens with ccw pistol

It appears to me you are not smoothly pulling the trigger; you are jerking it. You can’t slow that pull way to down to a very slow and gentle pull, and get rid of that jump when the trigger snaps? You are pretty steady until that trigger breaks and then you are jumping a bunch. How far off are your 10 yard shots at the range from your point of aim. How are the groups when you keep the same point of aim? The next time you are at the range, pick out a good shooter and ask them if they would give it a try. Most shooters are usually friendly and willing to help. That might give you a better idea if it’s you or the gun. The Shield is a belly gun, not a target gun. But its possible you got one with a terrible trigger and will have to replace it. After having several M&P’s with “acceptable” triggers I bought a full size M&P CORE 9L that was sold as a “Performance Center” gun. It had a terrible trigger in it, S&W had me send it in twice, only for them to tell me nothing was wrong with it and do nothing. I mean really terrible. It felt like rolling a square rock across a parking lot. I had to put an Apex trigger in it. -
Then the bullets won't go as far into the wood.

Use 2x4’s and some clamps. HINT: for a .380 you only need 2. For a 9mm you will need 4. For a .357Mag you will need a tree, and even then, you need to be careful because its going to catch everything on fire.

If you have a U.S. Passport; I don’t think you have to have a birth certificate, but you might want to check that for sure. If you are a veteran with a copy of your DD214 showing an honorable discharge; you pay less.

Shoot it Greg! That will tell you more than anything. Get some Lake City M2 ball, that is what it was designed to shoot and will perform the way it should with. That will give you a baseline information and rule out any ammo issues. I don’t know anything about reloading but know if a 30-06 round is too hot it will bend the Op-Rod in a Garand. I’d like to see more discussion here on the Garand instead of having to run to the CMP forum to discuss. But there is a lot of information there. I know there are more of us here that have them. The CMP site has a very good step by step procedure with good pictures to disassemble and reassemble that rifle completely. I started putting that into a PDF format; but didn’t finish. I had two Garand’s. I just sold one. I have a Wenig Custom Walnut Gunstock, CMP scope mount, and a long eye relief scope I have to put on the remaining Garand.

As I have said on here many times; I do not care about red flags laws to protect anyone. There are already laws in place (the ones that folks are complaining about) to address that. What is needed is laws that address “Due Process”. You can put whatever name you want on those laws. “Red Flag” “Due Process” whatever. Now…if you get charged with a criminal offense, there is a very good probability that your guns will be taken, and you won’t ever see them again. Unless charges are dismissed, or you are acquitted; they will probably either be sold or destroyed. These are situations like aggravated assault or when your bat s%&% crazy wife wants you removed from the house because you have lost control of your family. Those are problems you created and you will need to get a good attorney to help you with that. But if they are taken as a precaution because claims are being made you are mentally unfit or are a danger; there needs to be black and white rules of what will happen and when it will happen. That’s what I see a Red Flag law doing. If it doesn’t do that; it is unacceptable, and you don’t support it. But I just think a lot of people think they have protections that they don’t have. But I don’t know that for sure because I wasn’t a Police Officer in this state. But I am absolutely sure it wasn't true where I was.

I wouldn't want it any other way. If we all liked the same gun and the same caliber; they would cost a bunch more than they do. Those Glock guys and 9mm guys make my World Class M&P 40's, and 40 ammo, more affordable; God love em'

You sound like a good Father and Grandfather.

Because no one ever wanted it and it was made in small supplies. Now all the manufacturers are all making .380 “pocket guns”. Quantities have increased and the price should be going down. But you know it takes a whole lot longer to go down when folks are willing to pay it. You need to get off that 9mm kick and jump on the 40 train with me and the other 9 guys in Tennessee. We get the best prices on guns, and the best round for a semi, and don’t have trouble finding ammo at reasonable prices.

Well its good to know that you believe in Knoxville if someone claims you threatened to use a firearm; the police won’t arrest you and seize that firearm as evidence. But I think we might find that others in Knoxville might disagree with assessment. Exactly, as I’ve said before if someone in your family is making false accusations; you have family problems. If someone claims you threatened to shoot them, chances are you will be thrown in jail, and you guns seized. Whatever “due process’ you have in your area will determine if, or when you get your guns back. Do you know what that due process is in your area. Oh good. Since you have had issues of you, or someone, being accused of threatening someone with a gun, fill us in on how Knoxville PD handled that situation. Because it sounds like you may have due process already in place that works.

Jerry: Okay guys, lets do 2,2, &2 in .86 of a second. Shooter: But Jerry, we’re old people with weak hands, not Navy Seals for cryin’ out loud. Jerry: Oh okay, I forgot where I was. Gotta love Jerry.

What do you think would happen in Knoxville if a family member called the police, said you were threatening them with violence, you have guns, and they didn’t want them in the house anymore? I guess since in Knoxville they don’t have a “Seize first” policy and they are concerned with your constitutionally protected rights, they would just leave your guns in the house, and explain to that family member that you have rights. But if they didn’t, when do you think you would get those guns back? Also, remind me which part of the constitution protects you from unreasonable search and seizure (having your guns taken by the Police) or protects your gun rights when someone has accused you of a crime.

That's less than Buds or GaG.

In your opinion are people better off with the due process of the laws we have now?

These are the 6 biggest cities in VA. and their Top Cop. None are elected Sheriffs, all are appointed and can be replaced by either a city manager or city council. Virginia Beach, Police Chief Jim Cervera appointed by City Manger Norfolk, Police Chief Larry D. Boone appointed by City Manger Chesapeake, Chief K. L. Wright appointed by City Manger Richmond, Chief of Police William C. Smith, appointed by Mayor Arlington, Chief Murray “Jay” Farr appointed by County Manager Newport News, Chief Steve R. Drew appointed by City Manager

You don't need to go to KY; they are going to try it here. We have gained a lot in the last few years, but If the Democrats gain control; we could quickly lose it.

I have been shooting and collecting guns for over 50 years. I can only remember one magazine issue; it was with a M1 Carbine. Other than that, magazines have never been an issue for me, and I don’t do anything but use them. But I also don't generally drop magazines on the ground. If you do, you may need to clean them and check them for damage. Now, I have had failures to feed and failures to eject; but they were problems with the guns and not the mags. I immediately sent the guns back to the manufacturer and they fixed them. It’s my opinion from what I see, too many people will troubleshoot magazines for a long time and seem reluctant to acknowledge something is wrong with the firearm. I want the manufacturer to go through the gun and make it right. Sure, I guess if you had magazines loaded for a lot of years, they might need the springs replaced. But I’ve never had that happen, and I don’t usually keep carry guns that long.

Link? What the heck is "additional measures"?

You got a really good price. Its back up to $50 now. I really think I need that digital one.

Its good to see Sheriffs sticking up for what they believe in. Will it change anything? I doubt it, but I could be wrong. Threatening deployment of the National Guard if LE doesn’t enforce the laws is a little over the top. They won’t need to. Sheriffs have a little protection because they can’t be fired; they would need to be impeached. But I’m sure the state legislature is more than willing to do that if they are willing to ban guns. Police Chiefs and cops don’t have any such protection; they will do as they are told or get fired. I’m sure there are plenty of applicants in line to fill the positions of those who take that stand. Instead of falling on their swords they would accomplish more if they kept their jobs and just ignored the violations while working on getting the laws changed.
