  1. Dang man, All I wanted to do was get a group of guys together to buy a strip of land 50 yards wide and 1000 yards long.
  2. Prepare how? Are you thinking being in some militia group would allow you to have guns that are banned, in the states that do that? As far as information, this forum is the best source for this state.
  3. If you are clearing a house, you do not have the upper hand, especially if you are doing it alone. If I really thought someone was in my house; I’m not going hunting. When you aren’t sure…..wait. But I have a dog; so, I don’t have to. The biggest mistake I have personally seen people make in engaging an armed intruder is underestimating the enemy. Too many people think they will scare off an intruder. And most of the time they are right; sometimes they aren’t, and they die. I have also seen when the burglar kicked in a door thinking the homeowners were gone. The bad guy was on the floor at the door dying when I got there. Have a plan.
  4. There will be many that rush to critique this. The results speak for themselves. Those wanting guns banned will say “Two dead is too many”. Those of us that understand the real causes; know that its amazing there were only two dead. From what I saw in the video the first member that had a gun; had no chance. He was killed as he was pulling his gun. The member with a gun at the back took out the shooter with a good shot. With adrenalin pumping and a bunch of people in the field, most could not have made that shot. I believe Gods hand was involved in that. The rest that they keep showing in media pictures with their guns drawn like they were involved, were not; it was over. They certainly would have been needed if the initially shots hadn’t worked. It shows how fast a shooting goes down. This video will be used as training for acting quickly when something, or someone, is suspect. One story says the church gave him food, but he got mad when they wouldn’t give him money; who knows, he was a violent criminal. I still shake my head at the fact that there are those that think the “fix” is to unarm law abiding citizens, while not wanting to put violent people in prison where they belong. Prayers for those that lost their lives trying to protect their family and friends.

  7. Just my opinion, but I think its just that its lost its popularity. Of course, the cost argument continues, but when I looked at it, it wasn’t much (if any) of a cost saving option. The quality and repeatability argument doesn't make much sense to me either, modern manufacturing techniques and inspection can produce ammunition far more consistent than in the past.. There are people doing everything they can to increase the manufacturing costs of ammo. They will do the same to reloaders supplies. I think it will always be available. But like many things, you won’t be able to run down to your local store and stock up; you will have to order.

  9. We aren't haters; we are gun snobs. I try not to be; but I just can't help it.
  10. You just never know..... https://www.wsmv.com/news/two-dead-after-stabbing-at-midtown-restaurant/article_86fb93e2-23f2-11ea-87b5-376749f4f517.html
  11. Its always cool to watch the ear to ear smile on someones face when they shoot a Garand for the first time, and every time for some. Its just a bad azz rifle.
  12. You have students that don't have their own gun?
  13. Yep...thank you Donald Trump and Edward Jones. My boys!
  14. If you keep Xfinity as your internet provider you can watch FOX NEWS online, or on an app on your smart TV. If you get a different provider, just check with them. Your wife may be technologically challenged, but its sounds like she is very smart in other areas.
  15. Same here. I'm a TV and Internet junkie. Can't be without Xfinity. My only gripe is the cost. My service is excellent, so luckily I haven't had to deal with customer service but a few times over the years. I had to laugh when they started running commercials about how they have changed, and now their customer service is better. Yeah right. I just wish a class action lawsuit would get started over the Regional Sports Fee. If someone wants sports, they pay for it, not the rest of us. That and get the government out of the cable business.
  16. Yes, aren’t they beautiful?
  17. "It’s never seen the kind of popularity achieved by the .40S&W cartridge that came out four years prior." Whaaaaat?? How can that be? Joking aside, His comments about the psychological effects are spot on (IMO). My distrust for the 9MM and .380 doesn’t come from ballistic tests; it comes from what I have seen with my own eyes, coupled with science. Also, if someone that has never been in, or seen a shooting, is told enough that a 9mm is the best self defense round made; they may start to believe it. Even to the point where they disregard other things they know; like physics. And people that have been in shootings, and the round they used, did exactly what it was supposed to do; that’s the ultimate proof for them, what else could they possibly need. We've seen stories of well placed shots with a .45ACP failing to stop a person; there are many variables. I never had any reason to try .357SIG. It was a high price designer round that never caught on, much like the 10mm. The only real claim I ever saw was barrier penetration, shooting through a car door or through a windshield. The downside for me was the necked case; feeding short rounds in a handgun is already an issue without throwing that in on top of it; no need to risk it. But I don't see any problem with the .357SIG being able to get the job done.
  18. Sure. All my range guns or target guns are full size. Compacts, especially Micro compacts are pretty useless for that application.
  19. I agree with you. But we only have two options to change the law. Vote out democrats that want to ban AR’s. Or take cases to the SCOTUS and get a ruling. AR’s and the machine gun ban aren’t a good comparison. Machine guns weren’t owned by millions of citizens that used them for sporting, home protection, and hunting. We need the SCOTUS to rule on the whole “who and what constitutes a well regulated militia” argument. That’s the key for all gun laws. Because if it’s all of “The People”; all gun laws are done, including the ban on machine guns. If it is not all of the people and it is determined by the SCOTUS to be the Military and Police Departments; those in states that want gun control can kiss their guns goodbye. I do not expect the SCOTUS to rule anytime soon that we can all strap on whatever we want and go walking down the street. There are states that would not comply. I believe Tennessee would be one of them. Otherwise we would have had Constitutional Carry by now. The economy as an issue, and those wanting a handout from the government, are becoming a bigger voting block than those who work for a living, don’t depend on the government, and want to own guns for self-defense and the defense of their families. In the last three years we have started down a path to reverse that trend; but as you see not all gun owners are on our side.
  20. Can't beat that offer. You are a good man.
  21. I assume the 10 round limit is so they can sell in most any state, without having multiple model numbers. But that just a WAG. It could be so you have to buy more mags. I guess that just depends on who is making the 15-20 round mags when they come out in January. Do magazine manufacturers have to pay a royalty to the firearms manufacturer when they make a magazine to fit their pistol? The new .22 Taurus has a 16 round mag.
  22. This is my Field Grade M1 Garand that I had in a Weinig Custom Walnut Gun Stock, CMP scope mount, Simmons handgun scope, and Turner Saddlery National Match Service Rifle Sling. I’ll be putting that stock, scope and sling on my Service Grade Garand but haven’t got around to it yet. I don't have any pictures of it yet.
  23. That would require a change in the ROE's.
  24. Misfired? It doesn’t sound like it misfired.
  25. As you can see by her telling him his red light was on and his time was up; they don’t care. As we see in the impeachment hearings, even though our legislators swore and oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that to bear true faith and allegiance to the same; they don’t care. Donald Trump swore to drain the swamp. The swamp is fighting back with a passion. I have long said we aren’t going to get into an internal war again. It certainly won’t happen over gun control. But if this congress removes a President elected by us (the people); it wouldn’t take much to get things moving that way. It’s not about people running their mouths in a bar or on an internet forum. But it is like a bar fight; you don’t have to worry about the guy that is running his mouth about what he is going to do; the guy that knocks you out while you are running your mouth is the one you should have worried about. This can only be settled in the voting booth. Good American people lost control of the House in 2018. Should we lose anymore control; your guns, other than bolt action hunting rifles could be gone. And they may even try to take those. Please vote.
