  1. We don’t know for sure what happened; or I certainly don’t. I remember reading posts from people claiming to be in the know; but you know hot that goes. But the story I got was that the Prosecutor was very clear on the law, he had talked to the BATF, they submitted paperwork to him, and an agent was going to testify for the defense; he just didn’t agree that the gun was legal. And that’s my point. If it would have gone to court and there was a court ruling the gun violated Federal law; the ATF’s “ruling” wouldn’t be worth the paper it was written on. It was my understanding that it was his car and that he didn’t have drugs on him, but they were in the car; that’s a problem for him. I don’t think the DA wanted him to forfeit the gun or he would have just made that part of the plea agreement. But a plea agreement was made and he had to get the gun out of the county. I wouldn’t be surprised if some palms were greased in the background. That ruling could have been expensive for some gun companies; and still may be.
  2. The above happened one county west of you, and it involved drugs. But stuff happens.
  3. It wouldn’t need to be an ATF agent. SBR’s are illegal under state law unless in full compliance with the requirements of the National Firearms Act. Anything is possible. Antonio Sales was charged under 39-17-1302 for possession of a PLR-16 in Sumner County Tennessee. There is no case law because Sales made a plea agreement that required him to get rid of the weapon, in return charges were dropped. Rumor is that he could no longer afford the legal battle; but I don't know that to be fact.
  4. Why... you think those kids might drink a lot milk?
  5. That's weird. A marine General would not have written a letter like that without it coming though the chain of command; starting with Trump. And Trump hasn't said anything?

The S&W 640 if you don’t want an exposed hammer, the model 60 if you do. These are all stainless high-quality revolvers. They are .357Mag, but you obviously can use .38 Special. I’m ready to retire my Model 36 and want to replace it with a Model 60. I’ve carried a J-frame with a hammer for many years. The hammer has never been in the way, but there are times I was glad I had it. The good new is; you can have it either way. This size gun will have a stout trigger by any quality manufacturer; that’s by design. None of them will be fun at the range.
  7. Whaaat?? It just goes to show you that you can't get good help these days.
  8. There is always a lot of drama over this. The brace was not designed to be used as a stock. Using it as one without it being on a SBR could be construed as violating the law. I do not care one way or the other, I am simply posting this because our members need to understand that an ATF ruling does not have the force of law. They tell you that on their web site. I am not an attorney, but my opinion is that you are not “Good to go”. If you are arrested using a brace as a stock and a court decides that ATF opinion is wrong; you could be in prison and your family in financial ruin. I would suggest anyone considering this contact their attorney.
  9. I don’t really see anything here that makes me think anyone wants a war. I don’t think Trump wants a war either and I don’t think he will get us in one. I don’t know for sure if he said it, or someone at the WH said that he said it, but anyway. Supposedly Iran has been told that if they are involved in retaliation, we will take them out of the oil business. That will destroy their economy. Trump may do that, or he may bomb all their nuclear facilities to dust. Iraq is obviously siding with Iran; they may become one in the same. The Iraq parliament has voted to expel us. Dang man, how many times are we going to have to take that country before they get a clue? But I don’t think Trump will try to take over there again; hopefully he’ll just hurt them if they take action against us. As far as “eager for war”, I will say this. War should be terrible; it should be so devastating that no nation wants to take part. If you think that makes me eager; so be it. But since WWII the kinder, gentler, more humane way of fighting wars has done nothing but kill and maim our young people and create terrorists worldwide. We should make sure that everyone understands that if we are hit; we will attack and destroy our enemies with extreme prejudice. Anything less is inviting another 911.
  10. Well there you have it, the Virginia AG says if these laws are passed; they will be enforced. I think we all kinda knew that. With the Virginia legislature almost evenly split, and all the voters and all these counties taking a stand; it’s hard to believe any of these restrictions will pass. I guess we will find out soon.
  11. Prezackly. And in Illinois that means the whole state doing what the far-left liberals in Chicagoland want. The same thing is happening here; we just have them spread out covering the state more.
  12. I don’t think anyone here knows. I think that’s why Trump is letting them know we will take them out of the oil business if they pursue any further action.
  13. Rip is my second favorite character on YELLOWSTONE, my first being badazz Beth.
  14. Bill seems like an intelligent guy that can figure stuff out on his own; I (or any one of our other heavy caliber shooters, that don’t scream like little girls about felt recoil) won’t need to expound.
  15. Both; its physics. The heavier the gun, the lower the felt recoil. The smaller the powder charge, the lower the felt recoil. Different mass of projectiles in the same caliber will impact felt recoil; but not by much. Get a .40S&W Shield or a .357 Mag J-frame. If you can master those; you can shoot anything.
  16. That’s where those that can’t afford the luxury of legal pot will still get it. The legal pot cost is far above the illegal stuff.
  17. They changed the design? I know they added a new permit, but it won’t effect you if you are getting an enhanced permit.
  18. While this doesn’t apply to Tennessee yet….it may soon. On the 1st pot was legalized for recreational use in Illinois. For those who may not know Illinois residents are required to have a FOID (Firearm Owners Identification) card to purchase or possess firearms or ammunition. If you are an Illinois resident, its illegal for you to have a bullet in your pocket without this card on your person. FOID laws and requirements do not apply to out of state visitors, as only residents can get the card. Carry permits are something very different and are only required for those residents that want to carry. But if your FOID card is revoked; you carry permit is revoked. So, when you go into the weed shop, they document who you are and what you buy. At this point, no one is saying, or really seems to know for sure, who has access to that information. That raises the question of drug use, guns, and question 11e on form 4473 when you buy a gun. The Illinois State Police responded on their FaceBook page by saying this… I read that as them saying merely showing up in the database is not cause for revocation. But the cards will be revoked where it is demonstrated that an individual is addicted to or is a habitual user of cannabis. I guess the question there is what is “habitual” and will the documentation at the store be used to show that? The also make it clear that the use of pot is still a crime under Federal and that the Feds will deal with gun purchases from an FFL; not them. So, 4473 11e…. Unless I’m mistaken lying on that form is a felony? So the question becomes; are some pot smokers going to made examples of by the Feds?
  19. Thanks. So all the "New Model Blackhawks" are flattops?
  20. I’m not a Ruger guy, but I’ve been looking at them. I’m pretty clear on most models, but I keep seeing "Flattop" mentioned and I’m not sure what that means.
  21. There is no competition. One of you tight fisted cheapskates just needs to get up off the cash.
  22. I suspect that statement is true. But I’ve never had access to a $2500 1911 and an impartial shooter. It would be cool to see it done.
  23. I have them, but I find myself using cleaning rods. Cleaning rods are faster.
  24. This guy wasn’t killed because of past bad acts. He was killed because he was travelling around planning another attack. He was a target of opportunity. I have no problem with this. Actually, I don’t have a problem with him being executed for past bad acts. But then I’ve never been a hand wringer over criminals getting killed. As far as letting Congress in on this; Trump couldn’t. There are people in congress that would have called this murderer and warned him.
