  1. Justification for the use of deadly force is just that…. Deadly. If someone is pointing a gun at you and you later say “I took a head shot so I could turn him off like a switch.â€; there’s no problem with that. No one is ever required to shoot to wound or scare. However…. If he was chasing the guy out of the store firing at him (with all shots missing) I would have cuffed him up, hauled him off to jail, and retuned to the business of finding the other criminal.
  2. This is Harley. He likes visiting new places and making new friends. I could send him over if you like. He loves cats.... says they taste like chicken.
  3. I call … this just can not be. This gun costs over $2K and has some guys name on it. It is a proven fact that if you spend that much, and the gun has some guys name on it you will never have a failure and it will hit bulls eye every time.
  4. Exactly. Then you stand around comparing the groups you have shot at 7 and 15 yards with the end of the barrel almost touching the target and wonder why the 1911 and revolver guys are shooting on the rifle lanes.
  5. Sure… because you would have cranked off a couple of mags, been bored and quit.
  6. The beauty of stainless guns…. I could take that out of a stainless gun and you would never know it was there.
  7. They are made in Turkey for S&W; not by S&W. Rumor is its Huglu, but I don’t know that to be fact. I know that won’t matter to many, but to some of us it does.
  8. There is no speculation on whether a diesel boat is quieter than a nuke; it is fact. DaveTN…. USS Holland AS-32.
  9. That’s not a cut on your finger; that’s a blister. It’s caused by having girlymen hands and trying to shoot 180 rounds on your first 1911 session. It’ll toughen up after a while. I would pay to hear the conversation at Kimber after you email those pictures. Sorry I just couldn't hold back anymore.
  10. Watch GunBroker and do searches on what guns like what you want have actually sold for. There are many loaded 1911’s there right now. There are two, a parked and a stainless new in the box with a buy it now of around $660. Could you sell a used for $600? Sure… we’ve seen guns used guns on this forum sell at retail. Could you turn it quick?.... that’s a different story. But one things for sure… if you put a good price on one of the top name 1911’s; it won’t last a day.
  11. Makes me wonder if there was anyone else in the store, and what those rounds hit.

    S&W Lock ?

Some have the perception that they can engage themselves. Some just don’t like the idea of “lawyer gunsâ€. And some don’t know the difference between an internal lock and a magazine disconnect; but have been told they are bad.

    S&W Lock ?

My M&P born in 2005 and my S&W 1911 born in 2006 don’t have locks. Most of the revolvers have locks, but you can get new revolvers without locks if you want to do the research. Revolvers for export don’t have locks. Word is that some distributors have them. I just buy the ones that don’t have locks….. plenty of them around. (Except of course the 2.5†Model 66 I’m trying to find. )
  14. I’m not a lawyer and I didn’t sleep at a Holiday inn last night, but I guessing you may be putting your carry permit at risk when you see big signs saying that all weapons must be checked and that you can’t carry loaded weapons. If you don’t want to abide by the rules… don’t go in.
  15. Same thing I’ve told my kids and family. Not only with buying/owning guns, but a DUI, Domestic Violence, or minor drug arrest can be a career ender.
  16. I had never heard of those, but just looked them up. How does she like it? Is it well made? Do you know where it’s made?
  17. I have owned many 1911’s, my Kimber Custom TLE II and my Smith & Wesson 1911 are as nice as they come. I sold the Kimber because I didn’t like the finish, but it was reliable and accurate. Low end 1911’s? I’m not sure what you mean by that, S&W and Kimber doesn’t really have anything in that category. Springfield does, but I haven’t owned any of them. My Smith & Wesson Stainless Target was $910 OTD and I would be more than happy to put it up against any 1911 at any price. Paying $3K for a gun with someone’s name on it won’t make you a marksman.
  18. External, internal…. If they work it’s not an issue. Both my Kimber Custom TLE II and my S&W 1911 worked flawlessly.
  19. Of course they are great frames and slides… they are made by Smith & Wesson.
  20. I thought I saw somewhere that they don’t allow silhouette targets. That’s all I have. Do they sell targets there or do I need to get some before I go?
  21. Nice bag. Now that you are buying all this gun stuff do yourself a favor and get a C&R. I saved the cost of the license on my first Midway purchase. You would have saved $10 just on this. Product #: 259680 Manufacturer #: 718657 Dealer Price: $29.99 Retail Price: $39.99
  22. Nice set-up. Welcome to the church. However… now you have to get a holster. Discerning handgun owners don’t use Kydex; it’s a sin.
  23. If civil liability were removed from the business and placed on the carry permit holder (where it should be); I doubt there would be much opposition (except from the lawyers). I don’t believe most of the business owners that post their premises really care if you carry. They just don’t want to be the “deep pockets” in a civil suit. Can you blame them?
  24. .22 Or 5.56 for shooting paper or small animals that are not shooting back. 7.62 Or 30-06 if I need to end a threat immediately.
  25. I bought one of these from MidwayUSA. Works great, looks like it is built well. Just thought I would pass it on. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=718023&t=11082005
