  1. I have a Garand, Carbine and an 03, all hand picked at Anniston. It’s a great place to visit. But make sure you take plenty of money. The Garand is a fantastic rifle to shoot and one hell of a weapon even by today’s standards.
  2. Yes it’s infringement; you have a right or you don’t. Tennessee is no different on their interpretation of the 2nd amendment than the state of Illinois. Illinois state courts and the 7th Federal District have ruled that the 2nd amendment is not an individual right. Tennessee state courts and the 6th Federal District have ruled that the 2nd amendment is not an individual right. Tennessee is selling you a privilege to make money. That is better than nothing for those that can afford to pay it; but don’t think for a second that they are recognizing it as a right.
  3. I had to look.... it sure is.

    Check for stolen gun

You would have to be dumber than chit to try that. It would be pretty easy to find yourself facing felony charges.

    Check for stolen gun

A local Officer bought a gun from me awhile back. He just called the dispatcher and she ran it. I don’t know how that would work for you, but it couldn’t hurt to try.
  6. Wow, that’s bad news for S&W. I would have never thought that could sever a thumb off. I worked for a machine tool manufacturer and not only did we have to try to protect dumb asses, but we could be held liable for injuries when operators intentionally bypassed safety devices.

    New Indoor Range

I don’t think it’s possible to be any higher than the well known gun shop that will be a few blocks away. And that place is packed every time I go in there. They have more employees in the store than most gun shops have customers.
  8. I’m not having much luck trading for a used M&P so I will probably buy new. I owned a full size .40 so I’m familiar with it. But I’m trying to decide about the .40 compact and a .45 compact. I have not yet seen the .45 compact in person and it’s been awhile since I’ve seen a .40 compact. But it appears to me that the .45 compact is about as big as the full size .40 with the .40 compact being much smaller. Anyone examined both of them closely?

    Packing Heat?

The fact that a person is taken at gun point may not be simply because they are carrying. If I had someone acting suspiciously that I wanted to stop or check out, and I saw a gun; the fact that he is saying he has a carry permit would mean nothing to me. I would make the stop safe for me (that means he gets disarmed) before we have any in depth conversations. I know there are some people that get upset about their dealings with cops when they are stopped. But you always have recourse if you think what they did is wrong.
  10. Let someone else take the big hit. If you want a complete rifle try to find one with a heavy barrel and a decent stock.

    Packing Heat?

Carry permits have nothing to do with long guns. So unless you are in an area where shooting a shotgun from a boat is permitted and you have all the required hunting permits; I would say you have problems. I don’t know if you would physically be taken to jail or not but I would guess that you would be cited, have your gun seized and have to appear in court.
  12. It’s confusing because you are looking for the perfect gun and it isn’t out there. Everything is application driven. You have to match a gun to your application.
  13. It's for sale on GB. Has a "Buy now" price of $849. It's number 108933973.
  14. I found this unusual.

  16. I’m not sure of the content of the links so I PMed them to you. I had to cut out some of the text because it was too big for a PM.
  17. S&W Russians are C&R. Spend $30 on a three year license and buy them yourself. AK's are all over the place.
  18. I don’t believe that we attacked Iraq to help them become a democracy, nor do I believe it had anything to do with oil. We attacked them because we either had to deal with them now or later. It was a matter of national security; nothing more nothing less. Do I think Iraq will remain a democracy? No. It doesn’t appear to me we are making much progress now. If we stay until the new leaders, military, and police departments have control; we may never leave. Exactly.
  19. Because you are on a gun forum and she (at first glance) appears to be pro gun. I was on board with McCain before he picked her. I hate to see our leaders being picked based on race or gender first and the issues and experience second; but it appears this is the way it’s going to be done. At first glance she appears to be a good choice. But in my opinion when those posters of her holding an AR get plastered all over the place it will hurt not help.
  20. Certainly they would rather not do them; they would rather sell what they have or (I thought) what they could get for their customers. I say to heck with transfer fees just let the dealer know what I want and let him get it. Instead of transfer fees he’s making money on the sale. That didn’t work so well with the last new gun I needed.

  22. I have a Remington 700 VLS .308. I don’t really care for laminate stocks; they look cheap. (Just my opinion) I like the walnut hi gloss stocks with detailed checkering. I’m kicking around the idea of finding an old solid walnut BDL short action stock and opening it up for the heavy barrel of the VLS and maybe glass bedding it. It would be a lot cheaper than buying a new Wenig or even a Boyd. Other than the barrel channel needing opened up is there any reason this wouldn’t work?
  23. what about the cat test?
  24. That’s just because of the holiday weekend. But this storm could give them a chance give us a real good hosing.
