  1. That’s where I buy my silhouettes. They have the lowest price I have found on the B-27 Silhouette.
  2. Nope…. We called that “Failure to do right on Friday night.” (Or whatever night it happened to be.) In all fairness, a Disorderly Conduct charge is usually not understood by the arrested for one of three reasons… 1. Massive amounts of alcohol are involved and the arrested has no idea what they did to get arrested. 2. The person lacks basic social skills and does not understand that their behavior is bizarre. 3. They believe that they have some kind of Right to behave the way they are, and usually have to have a Prosecutor, Judge or even their own Lawyer explain to them the error of their ways.

    M&P 9mm, Full-Size

I have owned both the full size and the Compact in .40. The M&P is an excellent weapon. It has really taken off in the LEO community. I’m glad to see firearms made by an American company being put back into the hands of American cops. I put hundreds of rounds through the full size I had and never had a malfunction. After the last round fired from the first magazine, you don’t need to drop the slide on the second mag, just slam the second mag in; the slide will drop.
  4. Wow...doesn’t appear that I can get something built here. That’s really sad.
  5. I would make a mark at 18†and call it a “GO/ No GO gageâ€, but then I’m not an ATF agent.
  6. That’s kinda what I figured when he opened that store and I saw some of the pricing stuff posted here. He’s catering to the boys from Brentwood and Franklin that could care less what he is charging. (He’s not the only gun store in that area doing that, and the other one has been extremely successful.) If he can make a living doing that I say more power to him. He probably would just as soon riff raff like us would stay out of his store.
  7. You don’t own anything of value or any property do you?
  8. I’m well aware that there are no computers that have all U.S. manufactured parts. But there are some that are U.S. built. My Dell XPS-410 I bought 01/07 was built in Nashville. At that time gateway had also just brought back some assembly to this county. I tried to deal with them at the time (I believe they are built in Smyrna or LaVergne), but they had no track record with their machines built here. When I inquired the only responses I got were from people that had their ChinaMan Best Buy machines. They wanted as much as a Dell and even though they didn’t have much out there yet; they wouldn’t give me any incentive to buy. Two years later and I still haven’t heard much out of them; did they (Custom Build facility) fold? Even though my dell was built here, the only time I had to deal with support I had to deal with Ali Baba who was working out of his house with his kids screaming in the background. He ended up being useless. At that time I was told only corporate customers got to use U.S. support. But I heard Dell was talking about changing that: has that happened yet? I didn’t know that; I thought the Nashville facility was built to build laptops, and when they first moved here they were building laptops at the Lebanon facility?? That’s a valid question. No, I haven’t considered a Mac because I can’t. Nothing really against Mac’s but because of the industry I’m in and the work I do the only way I could use a Mac would be if it was running Windows; I can’t see the point in that. Tennessee or Texas.
  9. Anyone know? I’m looking at the Dell Studio 17 series (or maybe the new XPS 16) of laptops. You use to have to be a corporate user to get one built here, but that’s been a long time ago; has that changed? I see that Wal-Mart is selling Chinaman built Dell Studio 17's with lesser specs than the ones offered on Dells site at a lower price. I’m willing to pay more for the ability to order exactly what I want; but I want it to be from one of the facilities in the states.
  10. I typed in.....pmag "in stock" And I still can't spend any money.
  11. The triangle is too big. Poke a hole in a piece of paper the size of a pencil. Hold the paper a foot or two from your face. With both eyes open, focus through the hole on something across the room. Move the paper to your face keeping the object in view. The paper will end up over your dominant eye.
  12. But thankfully they are quicker than the state.
  13. All that really matters is if it is in good mechanical condition with original GI issue parts and is a good shooter. Rack grade is $479 and Service grade is $575 on a Nation Postal Meter from CMP. Good luck with it they are a lot of fun to shoot.
  14. According to an ad on GB there is someone in Germany that is making brand new semi-auto receivers for it. The uncle of a friend of a friend of yours could get one those and put the full auto receiver back in the field. Joe, why couldn’t this (in its full auto state) be registered? I’m not questioning you I’m just wondering what is supposed to happen when this stuff “turns up†in estates, etc.
  15. You couldn’t stay in the Navy for 10 years and be an E-4. They wouldn’t let you reenlist.
  16. Then I’m using a holographic sight and both eyes are wide open. If I’m using a scope I’m closing one eye and it won’t matter a bit; no one is going to be that close to me. I’m just kiddin’. I can’t use open sights or a scope with both eyes open and I have decided it’s a skill I will never need.
  17. My statement was not meant to imply jail time. What I meant was that if you refuse to blow you are going to be arrested and taken in to be booked. I tell my friends and family that if you find yourself in that situation; don’t blow. Don’t blow unless you are absolutely sure your BAC is below .08. And how would they know that?.... they don’t. I have arrested many DUI’s and helped process many more. I have never (that I can remember) seen anyone blow less than .10% However… it was a long time ago and we were arresting drunk drivers. Chances are pretty good that unless you are a Tennessee Titian you will be convicted of DUI if you go to court. However… if this is your first arrest chances are pretty good that you will be offered a plea agreement that could even involve court supervision. That could be hampered by a high BAC. I would be curious to know if this is something along the lines of what you tell your clients. Here’s a question I have about Tennessee law. As a cop in Illinois I would tell people that if they blew less than .10% I would just ticket them for the cause of the initial stop and let them go. Of course that never happened, but I could do that. They tell me that now in many states even if you blow and pass, you are still charged with DUI; is that the case in Tennessee? I don’t want anyone to construe my statements as supporting drinking and driving; I don’t. As I said I don’t drive even after one beer. However… once you are caught the danger you are causing to the public is over; you are off the street. Now it’s just a matter of how long you are going to lose your license for or how much you are going to pay to keep them.
  18. I don’t know if things have changed, but SEAL’s still need to have a rating. So you should be able to be guaranteed a “Class A†school and still have a shot at SEAL tryouts. Only a hand full of people can make it through SEAL training; maybe you have what it takes. But if you have a rating you won’t have to scrape paint off ships when you find yourself in the real world.
  19. I’ve had drivers tell me their BAC is below “Point 8â€. I would respond with “Good.â€. Right. Blow or deal with “Implied Consentâ€. They don’t need to drop it to zero. It’s .04 for CDL holders (in many states) and that would pretty much catch everyone that drank more than a couple of beers. Medications aren’t a pass; people get arrested all the time for DUI on meds.
  20. He won’t try to determine how long it’s been; he will just give you a choice of a BAC test or jail. Most drinkers think they can pass a test now; that’s why they take it. They have no idea if they are at .04 or .40. (I had a guy blow a .36 one time ) If you drink one beer and leave; you won’t have anything to worry about. It’s not about being drunk; it’s about BAC. I don’t drive after even one beer…ever. But see… I’m not the type of guy to go out and have a “couple of beers†with dinner. A couple of pitchers maybe, or a couple of six packs, or several Jack and Sevens. I know with absolute certainty that if I have sat in a restaurant or a bar for a couple of hours; I’m above a .08% (and so are most of you). So if I’m stopped on the way home; I am DUI (and so are most of you) I need my driver’s license and I would like to keep my HCP permit. So if I’m drinking I have a DD or take a cab and my guns stay at home.
  21. Why do you need both eyes open? If you are using sights you are target shooting and it doesn’t matter. If you are defensive shooting you are point instinct shooting and you just need to practice your eye/hand coordination.
  22. That is exactly what I’m saying. HexHead hit on it… MADD. Although I can’t compare them to PETA. What has PETA ever done? What has MADD done? Well they have had DUI discretion taken away from cops in most departments I know of. They have had the BAC levels dropped in most states (and I think that will continue). They get most anti drunk driving bills passed. They have joined with the insurance companies and given fully equipped squad cars to Police Departments to use specifically for DUI enforcement. They have caused legislation for tougher drunk driving penalties in many states (Felony DUI). Think what you want about them but they certainly have had an impact. If MAG ever gets the focus and determination of MADD; we are all screwed.
  23. Drinking and driving is no longer sociably acceptable. I expect that soon it will be outlawed all together. There are certain things that you don’t do while operating a vehicle or carrying a firearm; drinking alcohol is one of them. Common sense tells us that both of those require you to be in full control; not impaired even a little bit.
  24. Most of the drunks that I arrested only had “two beersâ€. ,08% is the point that Tennessee has determined you are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle. Impairment is not the point that I would want to use as a standard for the ability of you to make a decision to pull a gun, or take a life. I would guess that is why they have left it to the discretion of the Officer to determine if you should be carrying. I have no problem with that; you can always fight it in court. If drinking while carrying is important enough for you to risk your HCP; then so be it. I really don’t care if you drink and carry (as long as you don’t do it around me). But the point I was making is that our legislature has changed and we have an opportunity here. I would hate to see a restaurant carry bill fail because it either did not address, or tried to allow an HCP holder to drink. I don’t think the public would buy it, I think its irresponsible at face value, and I think it would mean certain defeat. Buy hey, I could be wrong.
