I emailed LPA a couple of times and they finally answered me. They told me “No” and to either just keep using the totally worthless POS 3 dots sights that come on those (and most other) pistols, or buy a POS Glock and buy their sights to put on it. Well okay, that’s not exactly what they said…here is what they said. I should have known better than to expect those freakin’ Italians to help us out. They were probably too busy making pasta. I obviously will need to find an American Made product to deal with this problem.

I can understand that.

Price of a real radar gun: Ridiculous Cost of training: Ridiculous Watching the reactions on the faces of people as they drive into the field: Priceless
-
I had slots in the front and back of my belt I used to carry them in. But I don’t have to do that now. No one wants to handcuff me anymore.
-
I have that in the 3MOA flavor and really like it.
-
That's a good idea. But most criminals carry handcuff keys.

What have you used as legit websites lately? I mainly use Grab a Gun, Buds or PSA. Grab a gun has been beating Buds prices by a pretty good margin lately. PSA prices are good, especially on their specials, but they are mainly focused on AR’s and Tuperware guns. They are all charging tax now. (at least the ones I use are) That’s good for the local gun dealers, puts them on an even playing field. I’m just usually ordering stuff the locals either don’t carry, or they get silly on pricing. What’s the website that lists prices of dealers? They don’t sell guns, they just list the dealers that have the guns, and can be sorted by price. I can't seem to find it. So anyway… I’ve used GAG, Buds, and PSA several times, never had a problem with any of them. What are you guys using?

I don't know, I haven't heard anything like that. I know Andy Holt is still trying to get legislation to outlaw them throughout the state.

I bought an AR Pistol for a trunk gun and discovered they are worthless without a stock. I didn’t want to play the BATF’s game of “Our opinion is a brace is legal and can be used as a stock; but that opinion has no legal weight”. I kind of a sissy about going to jail or spending large amounts of money on attorneys fees; so I sold it. I should have paid the money to SBR one; but hindsight is 20/20. Having said that though, a 9MM Pistol will do everything a 9MM AR will do; so I don’t see what makes that attractive either. Hey, you asked for Thoughts, experiences, recommendations, comments...

I've never seen one of the tickets, but when “who was driving?” was questioned, I’ve seen people post that they were sent a picture clearly showing who was driving the car, and I think they said there was online video if they wanted to see it. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard of anyone taking one of these tickets to court; or if you can. We don’t have unmanned radar, but we have red light cameras. Most people I hear talking about them simply said they weren’t paying them, or they were. Here is a link to the system Murfreesboro uses. It appears its all automated, so doubtful there is any court involved. http://sa1.zerofatality.com/zerofatality/mu.html

I got this email from Armslist today.

Both. Traffic enforcement needs to have consequences, or it won’t work. Telling people if they speed, they will get stopped and get an azz chewing doesn’t make them slow down. Giving them a $150 ticket, might slow some down. The city, county, and state all have their budgets. As a property owner, my opinion is that if part of that can be paid by those that can’t obey traffic laws, instead of raising my property taxes; I’m all for it. But that’s just me; I know that’s not a popular opinion. Having worked traffic I also know to well that if more people are hurt and injured in your neighborhoods by “real criminals” instead of “traffic offenders”; you should probably think about moving. I have also seen posted on the internet many times, that you can throw those camera tickets away. I’d need my attorney to tell me that before I did it. The money that leaves our cities because of the ridiculous fees those camera companies get, should be enough to stop the practice.

“Higher End” means we are not discussing $500; $1000 factory builds. Because those you name are not in that price range. Name recognition (for the higher end Mfg’s) is because they work. Parts are matched, sometimes hand fitted if necessary, and usually tested. If you are building a rifle that you will keep; I would say build your own and go for what you want. Problem is, if you try to sell it. It’s a garage build, and no one is going to want to pay much for it. You will also have to buy gun building tools. In my own opinion based on the many AR’s I have seen and owned; you can buy a factory build that will be just as accurate and reliable as the high dollar designer guns. Guns are like computers. It used to be that you could build your own better, and for less money. Those days are gone. You can build, more specifically to what you want, but you can’t save any money doing it. It’s hard to beat the quality of the big boys in the mid to high end PC’s. That’s just my opinion.

I thought your wife told you “No” on this?? What did you have to buy her? I’ve had aquariums, but never saltwater. I hear they are a lot of work and very temperature sensitive.

I had colts. I had Pythons. But I sold them because they were junk. If I just wanted a fantastic blue finish I would buy S&W. Unfortunately, they don’t make old azz cowboy guns. So, unless you are going to sell me one of your Colts for $500, go get one of your Blackhawks out and take pictures of it, and properly answer the question. I’ll hurry up and wait right here. Dang kids.

US Strike Kills Top Iranian Terror Mastermind Qassem Soleimani
DaveTN replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Because had that been reported at the time; we would have taken out the missile batteries that participated. It was easier to say, Lets let this pass; no one was hurt, just some good ole boys blowing off steam. Five hours after it happened the news was still reporting there was no information on injuries. This is 2020; there was information on injuries 5 minutes after it happened. -
And I won't start now.

Aftermarket Pistol Sights - best type/brand
DaveTN replied to Snaveba's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
The only thing that could possibly be worse than three dots is four dots. -
Good question. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an unmanned radar unit in Tennessee on the interstate. I’ve seen plenty in Illinois; especially in construction zones that will mail you big azz tickets.

Memphis lawmaker proposes red flag legislation
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
When it comes to Red Flag issues; suicide threats, violence, etc. Sanctuary talks will be irrelevant. I’m sure they will explain to the Officers and Deputies that if they refuse to follow state law, not only will the Department be held liable, but the individual Officers will be held civilly liable, and possibly criminally liable in a wrongful death case. No one will continue on that path. It's one thing to not arrest someone for a criminal weapons violation. It’s something very different to refuse to act on a suicide threat or a violence threat being reported by family members or friends. I wasn’t a LEO in Tennessee, but it appears to me they don’t need any new laws to do whatever they like as far as taking guns when a threat is made. I would think the democrats and the anti’s would want to leave things the way they are. -

I think we (and every other state) will have some form of Red Flag Laws. I would bet money on it. -
Sportsman Warehouse has this for $799.00 to Loyalty Rewards Members. That is about $100 less than Buds or Grab a Gun. I have an email with a code if anyone needs it. I don’t need one of these but thought I would pass it on. It’s for online, but one of the options is “Pick-Up at the Murfreesboro Store” https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/rifles/remington-700-pcr-black-bolt-action-rifle-65-creedmoor/p/1618865?contact_eid=0271557a-99ec-478a-bd16-00a99502d4ee&utm_source=bm23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Remington+700+PCR+Rifle&utm_content=Explorewards+Loyalty+Member+Exclusive+Offer&utm_campaign=1-30-20+Remington+700+PCR+Rifle&_bta_tid=16446977525476404077099254111242596089886075151760987035484956005134751704956463067231684141853698266168&_bta_c=avinh0kpt1a85u5qdubvchsdbxm7f

Aftermarket Pistol Sights - best type/brand
DaveTN replied to Snaveba's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I don’t use sights for defensive shooting, but I would really like to have a set of adjustable white outlined sights for my M&P’s for target shooting. LPA makes them for Glock and Sig, but none for the M&P. I emailed them and ask for them, but they told me… No, use the worthless 3 dot sights that came on them. So now I hate them. -
I'd buy it if I was up there. That Leupold Scout scope and mounts would probably cost $200 used. A Leupold scope like that is about $300 new by itself. If you are using optics; you aren’t using the sights anyway. That’s not a bad deal for someone that wants a 30-06 scoped hunting rifle. Dang man, and I thought I was a gun snob.

Businesses asking for carry permit credentials
DaveTN replied to lock n' load's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Exactly. And a couple of things… 1. we will never change, no matter what we do, how some people react when they see a gun. 2. People judge people on their appearance. You can argue all you want about it; but we all do it. So if you look like a dirt bag carrying a gun; you will get treated as such. I know full well that when I’m riding my Harley, if someone sees a gun; they probably won’t say anything to me, they will probably call the Police. And if I stay there long enough the Police will show up and ask for my ID and carry permit.
