I prefer the M&P over the XD. Shoot a PM to Joe at Hero Gear and see if the price is still $50 more. I bought two new from him for less than some are trying to get for used.

ATF KILLS TN FIREARMS FREEDOM ACT!
DaveTN replied to GLOCKMEISTER's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree. Anyone that decides to be a test case on this I predict will end up doing prison time. And how are you going to get weapons or supplies with no FFL’s and no companies that hold manufacturing licenses involved? Their licenses are gone the minute they violate a law. Homemade stuff? The ATF will pick you off like flies and the state will stand back and watch. Because that’s all they can do. <O:p</O:p The 10th amendment issues will not include firearms; the public won’t support it. -
It should have been done legally. I would have arrested him for disorderly conduct, seized the flag as evidence, booked him into jail, and let him get an attorney to argue the case in court. I can’t think of a better case for disorderly conduct. The mistake they made was removing the flag without an arrest.

AVG if I need something for free or to use on an old computer. McAfee on stuff I care about…. Which is also free since I’m on Comcast.

For no more than you are hauling I wouldn’t risk pulling a trailer with wheelbarrow tires at highway speeds. You can get a car top carrier as big (or bigger) than the second trailer you posted.

No info?? But since Tennessee is employment at will I wouldn’t think they even need a reason to let you go. Good luck though. Disclaimer: I am not an attorney, do not play one on TV and did not sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.

[Electrical] Separate power line & meter to garage?
DaveTN replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
To go underground would require going through a lot of asphalt and through the roots of a big tree. I’m told that code here won’t allow aerial between the house and garage anymore. That is what I have now; I just need higher amp service. If I replace it I have to go underground unless it comes from the power company pole. Also if I run it from the main in the house I’m told I open the entire electrical system in the house to inspection and it would have to comply with the latest code. Even though I have the knowhow to do it myself (house to garage), and I know people that are electricians the city of Murfreesboro won’t allow it. I have to have an electrician that is licensed by the city of Murfreesboro. Incoming to the house is aerial now and the pole is positioned between the house and garage. Running to the garage from the pole would be the easiest way to go. I just didn’t know what the extra fees would be. -
Has anymore had the power company run a separate line to their detached garage? If so what did they charge for the hook-up? And is there an extra monthly fee besides usage?

Well I don’t know for sure, but I wouldn’t think zoning would have anything to do with it. I would guess that Beale Street is zoned commercial, but that does not have anything to do with whether it’s public or private. Private property can also be zoned commercial. <O:p</O:p I also believe that cities can own the streets and restrict or barricade them as they like; I see it done all the time. Historic districts, City celebrations, I even saw them barricade and restricted for exhibition semi-truck drag races. And yes, the citizens foot the bill for the street department to do it and the Police to provide extra security. There is a video on this page from news 3. It shows the signs that are being posted and they appear to have the proper language. (I didn’t insert the video because you have to watch a commercial first.) Guns in Bars in TN;Guns Banned on Beale Street;Merchants Ban Guns on Beale - WREG This video (with the SW1911 on it) says your guns will be taken from you, and if you try to enter a club you will be arrested. (But it’s just the CEO of Performa). Beale Street to ban guns, use metal detectors - WMC-TV: News, Weather, Traffic, Radar, and Sports for Memphis, TN; WMCTV.com | This is an interesting read from February where the city sued Performa. We do have signs that say “Drive safely†they have them as you leave the rest areas. They also have pictures of seat belts and helmets, and .08 with a slash through it. We are required to know the driving laws…. Period. Are HCP holders a little slower than the average person? I have never seen anyone here make the argument that they didn’t know what the sign meant; only that is was not legal. That’s an argument that you would have to make in front of a Judge or jury. Good luck with that.
-
And that is exactly what I think would happen. Even with the business postings the AG opinion has left this thing wide open for anything more than a picture of a gun with a slash through it. I can’t understand where anyone is getting the idea that these signs need to do any more than convey the message. If you want to make an argument you will need to take the stand. At that point the Prosecutor simply asks “Did you not understand what this sign meant?â€

Legislators say Kazemi should not have been able to buy a gun
DaveTN replied to DaveTN's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So neither the guy that found the bodies nor the person that he called (that then called 911) is this guy? -
Wow… that’s the risk of a year in jail, $2500 fine and showing a weapons conviction on your record. Think twice…. This isn’t like the business postings.

Is this going to be a ticket on a city ordinance or an arrest on a criminal misdemeanor?

Talk to them before action is taken.

Let me make a suggestion… I’m involved with friends and family trying to get carry privileges for Illinois. Try to make your arguments without using the words “Rights†or “2nd Amendmentâ€. Because the minute those words come out of your mouth; you change the focus of the discussion. This is not about rights it is about privileges. Just like Illinois, Tennessee does not recognize 2nd amendment rights beyond your property line. If they did we would not be having this discussion. No matter how a city decides on park carry, 97% on the citizens will be committing a crime if they carry a gun there. I’m not saying to give up your battle for 2nd amendment rights. But if you turn this into one of them; we lose. This is about privileges for a “special groupâ€.

Legislators say Kazemi should not have been able to buy a gun
DaveTN replied to DaveTN's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The condo…. We keep seeing talk that McNair and this other guy lived there. But when this first went down I saw a report that this other guy owned the building and lived in a different condo in it. They said McNair would stay in this condo sometimes when he was in town. It sounds to me like this guy kept a party pad for his high roller friends. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that, but it didn’t sound like either him or McNair lived there. The car deal doesn’t make sense either. You don’t co-sign a note on an Escalade for your waitress girlfriend unless you are going to make sure the payments are made. The Kia part made me laugh… I mean come on, he could autograph the dash on that thing and it would be gone in a day. How much can a Kia cost? -
Legislators say Kazemi should not have been able to buy a gun
DaveTN replied to DaveTN's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
How much financial trouble could a 20 year old girl be in? I mean McNair cared enough about her to jointly have a vehicle with her (for whatever reason). Her debt would have been gum money for him. Something isn’t right there. -
Colt Tactical Rimfire AR rifles....."Tactical Bunny Slayers"
DaveTN replied to BimmerFreak's topic in Long Guns
Yes. But those are individual state laws; not federal law. The Feds put the requirement on the FFL holder to know they are in compliance with both states laws. I can see why some dealers don’t mess with it. -
Colt Tactical Rimfire AR rifles....."Tactical Bunny Slayers"
DaveTN replied to BimmerFreak's topic in Long Guns
Federal law has no “Adjoining state†requirement. It allows a dealer to sell a rifle or shotgun to a person that is not a resident of their state. However the transaction must comply with both the state laws of the dealer and the resident state of the buyer. That is why there are many dealers that won’t do it. -

You are correct. That is why I said “If you can proveâ€. -

Yes. If you can prove one act in furtherance. She committed conspiracy to commit murder when she bought the gun. But since she is dead it is a moot point. -
I can't.

In the last few years I have been pretty lucky because when I have found something I want I have been able to go through the forum dealers and they have found what I want and matched or beat the on-line price. The exception was when I wanted a PLR-16. None of them could get it, so I bought it from Buds. I picked Murfreesboro Outdoors simply because they are close and they were listed on Bud’s site; no muss no fuss, just pick them at checkout. (Why don't all FFL's do this?) I ordered it 5PM on Wednesday and they called me Friday afternoon that it was in. They charged $40 total, but since I had never bought anything from them I didn’t think that was too bad.
