  1. Used guns don’t cost at or near what new ones do. If it is priced that way buy new. Most common guns can be bought from the dealers on this forum for a reasonable price. I always seem to get the best price when I am standing in front of them; if that’s not possible sending them a PM gets good results also. Buying used guns is just like buying used cars; unless you know what to look for you have no idea what you are buying. I buy a lot of used guns, but you have to be careful. In this area I would recommend, and have bought from, Hero Gear and Guns & Leather. If they didn’t have or couldn’t get what I wanted I have ordered from Buds Guns. I have not had much luck waiting for what I want to show up on this forum for sale; but I have had good luck posting a WTB ad once I made my mind up.

    NEED HELP!!

I know nothing about New York law and had to look up what DWAI stood for. According to the web sites I looked at it is a lesser offense than DUI and is not a criminal misdemeanor unless you have three convictions. But even if it is a criminal misdemeanor you are okay if you only have one. When you apply for your Tennessee license they will ask if you have been convicted of DUI. I would find out if you can truthfully say “Noâ€.
  3. That’s the screw that holds the yoke in. Did he remove it for cleaning and not tighten it properly? The barrel is coming unscrewed. Don’t try to tighten it unless you have the proper tools or you will bend the frame. Whether it is pistols or revolvers; there is a reason there is a price difference. I’m sure they will all be standing in line to buy it after your glowing review of what it has been through. It’s a shame that Taurus or the dealer won’t take care of him and someone is going to get stuck with this lemon.
  4. It is impossible for that to happen on the interweb.
  5. Houlton, Maine is where S&W made some stuff like handcuffs, etc. They put the Walther stuff there. I think they may even make some PPK’s there.
  6. States would have to recognize the 2nd as an individual right. Only two do, 48 don’t. Tennessee does not recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right. You can’t blame that on the Feds.
  7. Doesn’t matter if it gets passed. It is States Rights. Illinois, California, and New York aren’t going to allow you to carry and they will put you in jail on state charges if you do. Just like Tennessee can’t protect you from federal Law Enforcement; the Feds can’t protect you from state law enforcement. <O:p</O:p Chicago PD was going to arrest out of state cops that carried under LEOSA until Daley gave them the nod it was okay. It’s states rights. <O:p</O:p The SCOTUS stopped short in the Heller decision as most of us knew they would. Why? States Rights. There are states that are not going to allow you to carry.
  8. They would be broke. They could not sell most guns made. Well…. The Feds would take the guy into custody. If the Sheriff tried to stop them (Which isn’t going to happen) he would be arrested also. The Feds aren’t going to do anything crazy and neither is local law enforcement. What you believe is exactly what was being discussed on the floor when they voted on thus… Someone is going to think this is the law and the state will protect them; the state can't and they will end up in Federal prison. <O:p</O:p No where. No one is going to do anything. <O:p</O:p Don’t believe me? Watch your out of control Socialist President tonight tell you that he thinks everyone has a right to health care and that he has decided you need to pay for it. And you know what? No one will do anything. <O:p</O:p
  9. Less than 15 yards without sights I strive to put the rounds in center body mass. Past 15 yards and you are target shooting….. whole new ball game. To test the accuracy of a specific gun I want to see it shoot at 25 yards.
  10. In all fairness, yours is actually a Smith & Wesson; the others aren’t. They didn’t have to wait on parts from Walther for yours.
  11. I bought a full size and a Compact on 4-11. I have received both sets. They came a couple of weeks apart. Maybe 8-10 weeks. You should have already had yours.
  12. Thanks for that link; I have never seen those before. They offer those stocks for the Remington 700. I emailed them to see if they have one that would fit my heavy barrel. Does it really reduce the recoil as much as is claimed? It’s really hard to tell just watching the videos. Even fully extended the stock doesn’t look as long as a standard stock. Is it on your 870?
  13. I understand that. My not trying to argue with you; I’m trying to understand why that would make a difference to those arguing the 10th amendment.
  14. Good Luck Glen. I enjoyed going shooting with you. Hope to see you when you make it back. Good luck with the new job.
  15. It probably scared him more than anything. Well…. Except for that little bit of his hair that was on fire. Parents are supposed to protect their children.
  16. The .40S&W is an excellent defensive round in either weight. That’s why so many PD’s have switched to it. Velocity means nothing until you apply surface area and mass. In this particular caliber it’s personal preference; whichever you can shoot better.
  17. But full auto weapons are still manufactured. What part of the Constitution either allows the Feds to regulate them or bans the state from doing so?
  18. I would ask the manager if he expects me to pay. If he says “Yes†that is exactly what is going to happen. I’m not having the cops called on me for any reason. But I have to ask…. Has this ever happened to anyone? (Not some story you heard or some internet BS… but to you?)
  19. Why does the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act specifically exclude full auto weapons? The same state law that prohibits machine guns also prohibits suppressors. (Unless registered under Federal law) Would it really be a good thing or would it just be a state agency you make the check out to?
  20. The next step from them does not matter. The next step from the state is what’s important. If the ATF arrests a Tennessean that buys a suppressor made here is the state going to step in and release them and drop the charges? I don’t think they could if they wanted to (Federal charges) and I wouldn’t want to be the poor guy trying it to find out. <O:p</O:p And who are they going to buy it from? The Feds would revoke the license of both the manufacturer and the dealer. Which they have an absolute right to do since it is a Federal License. <O:p</O:p Does it bother me as a Tennessean? Not really. What will bother me is if the state doesn’t address that letter before someone gets crucified because they believed the state has the horse power to back this up. <O:p</O:p The Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act has nothing to do with anything except firearms. You can make all the 10th amendment and States Rights arguments you want to, but I want to see decisions on this act specifically.
  21. It’s above what you said your price range was, but S&W K frames are the King of the .22 revolvers. Same size and weight as the big boys. S&W Model 617 in .22 along side SW1911/.45ACP, 686/.357MAG, 66/.357MAG, 36/.38 SPECIAL.
  22. I respectfully disagree. A decision on health care won’t stop the ATF from arresting someone on gun charges no matter what the healthcare decision is. You are talking years for a case to be decided anyway. No need to wait. <O:p</O:p The 2nd amendment has gone in “Baby stepsâ€. Heller did nothing for us because they dodged the issue.
  23. So file a case. I don’t think we need to wait for someone to get arrested. (Heller wasn’t arrested) Find someone that sells suppressors made in Tennessee and then have them refuse to sell to someone without the ATF paperwork.
  24. I prefer the M&P over the XD. Shoot a PM to Joe at Hero Gear and see if the price is still $50 more. I bought two new from him for less than some are trying to get for used.
