  1. Very good argument, because it is exactly the same argument they are using. They believe that you are putting their lives and the lives of their customers at risk. You don’t. You have the right to own guns. You do not have the right to carry them past your property line. I agree. But I discovered I was wrong when I was jailed. We are talking about what the laws are; not what they should be. Because business owners aren’t trying to take your guns away. They don’t know you or anything about you. But they know unless you got your training somewhere else the training required by the state is a joke. They don’t know if you are an HCP holder or a gang bangin’ thug; and they don’t want to ask to see your permit to find out. But those are all secondary to the real reason. When the state on Tennessee puts all the responsibility on you, and passes legislation that makes a property owner exempt from civil suits; you will have a legitimate gripe. Why is that when some people strap on a gun they seem to think they are wrapped in the Constitution and everything is a violation of their rights; rights that they do not have? You don’t have that gun because of the 2nd amendment; you have it because you have pro gun legislators that have sold you the privilege. And what did our pro gun legislators get for their efforts? A very small percentage of the pro gun population that have their panties in a bunch because they can’t carry in a bar and want to vote them out of office.
  2. The SA that made that has nothing to do with the SA of fame. They will all be new parts.
  3. Wow… They are saying .17 HMR is not suitable for use in semi-automatic firearms. Just became a collector item.
  4. I have watched this thing unfold since the beginning; glad I wasn’t involved. But I have a question from a former LEO’s view. Taking all that money for guns and cans and then skipping out with the money is not a civil situation; it is a criminal act. Has anyone made a complaint with the cops or the ATF?
  5. If its walnut and high gloss blue made in 2006 it is a BDL Deluxe. The standard version (552A) was not made after 87. If you have any questions or concerns call Remington. I did on a shotgun once and they told me everything I wanted to know about it.
  6. A short barreled 1911 is not going to be a target gun no matter what caliber it is. By target I mean shooting at 25 yards or more. I find a full size 1911 in 9mm desirable as a range gun. You can get twice as much trigger time for your money. I have shot them but I don’t have one yet because I’m not going to pay a premium for the gun so I can shoot cheap ammo. I had a 3” Kimber SIS and sold it, because while it was the perfect carry size, it’s not a target gun. I also had too much money tied up in it for just a carry gun. If you believe the 9mm is a good carry round (I don’t) and you have been carrying an XD45 or a Para, I don’t know why the 9mm would be any different. If your concern is the 9mm round; then it would just be a range gun. I need a suburban to haul all the guns I take to the range so what I was carrying would not be an issue. And I would second the Browning hi-power as a better alternative to a 1911 9mm. I just wish they were made here.
  7. Please point me to this “Threat to use deadly force†law. It’s aggravated assault and does not require nor does it allow “the threat of deadly forceâ€. Then you haven’t checked. Police do not operate under the same rules you do. I could direct you to the information, but the OP is not asking about cops and if this thread gets redirected in that direction it will end up locked. If you want to make that comparison, start a new thread and we can all discuss it.
  8. What kind of an idiot shoots reloads in an alloy J-frame. My guess is the frame cracked and the next round blew the gun apart.
  9. It sounds real nice, but you appear to only be asking about price. It’s a kit gun. Have you priced the kit and the lower?
  10. I don’t care for alloy frame guns (unless that alloy is stainless steel), but Academy Sports has them in this weekend’s flier. It says “$479.99 Everydayâ€
  11. Any time the bad guy kills the good guy (and it happens a lot) they claim self defense. It rarely works.
  12. I was glad to see someone posting a target from some real shooting, instead of “Look at my 3 yard group!â€
  13. Good... he will still have one round left.
  14. I still contend that there is no problem with threatening someone with a gun that is stealing your property. Kicking their ass is also allowed. I am not aware of any law on “threatening deadly force”; only actually using deadly force. Threatening deadly force would be aggravated assault if you were not justified. However… 39-11-164 allows you to use the threat; it does not allow you to use deadly force to protect property. It does allow you to use force other than deadly force and I contend that includes the threat of deadly force. <O:p</O:p
  15. Then keep the Glock also. everything is application driven
  16. He’s dropping the slide on a full mag and it will not go into battery. I know the Hi-Point is cheap, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that is not normal. That or my reading comprehension is failing me…. again.
  17. I had a Bass Pro RedHead 3X9-32 on a Remington 597. It was boring. It would shoot dime size groups all day long at 25 yards. They are about $40.
  18. Apples & Oranges. The 66 2-1/2†is smaller, more concealable. Less rounds, but greater firepower. The 4†is IMO too big for carry. I have a 66 2-1/2†and a couple of M&P’s… different applications. All S&W Model 66’s are stainless; if they are blue they are Model 19’s. You can’t touch a 66 for under $350 and 100% with the original stuff are bringing over $500. It’s appreciating while the Glock is depreciating. (if that matters to you)
  19. Keep us informed. I have the Crossbreed SuperTuck only because I didn’t know about the DM Bullard at the time. Leather is King.
  20. I have a Bianchi 6d inside the waistband holster that is as thin and light as a pocket holster. It has a thumb break, so it won’t fall out of the holster while in a purse. Also works great as IWB holster. They are about $20.
  21. I don’t think it’s rude to do whatever you like once you have an agreed on price. I also figure that if someone damages or scratches a firearm while field stripping it; they own it. That’s why I don’t even handle guns I have no intention of buying.
  22. There is a clear cut dividing line. Immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. <O:p</O:p You do not need our approval, and what someone tells you does not matter. <O:p</O:p You will be judged first by the responding and investigating Officers. Their decisions could determine if you go to court or not. <O:p</O:p You will next be judged by the District Attorney’s office. They will determine if you go to court or not. <O:p</O:p You will next be judged by a jury of your peers. They will decide if you go to prison or not. <O:p</O:p All of these people will have from hours to weeks to decide if the decision you made in seconds was reasonable. They will be armed with all the facts; things that you may not have known at the time. <O:p</O:p After that you either go to prison or you start round 2. If you find yourself in criminal court there is a pretty good chance you screwed up. So round 2 consists of the civil trial. Here a whole new group of people get to decide your fate again. <O:p</O:p Oh and BTW…. Am I going to open fire on someone that has my kid or my dog? I don’t think so.
  23. 1. “Bean Bags†are not non-lethal; they are “less-lethal†they have the ability to inflict “great bodily harmâ€. <O:p</O:p 2. A firearm is a firearm. <O:p</O:p 3. You can’t shoot someone fleeing. <O:p</O:p 4. Just because you are not arrested does not mean the bad guy will not soon be living in your house. <O:p</O:p 5. If a reasonable person would not believe you are in danger of death or great bodily harm; just be a good witness.
  24. Excellent shooting.
