  1. I don’t know, I can name two or three 1911’s that should be sub $200 guns but some folks are paying $400-$500 for them. A couple of years ago when a friend of mine looked for Hi-Point he couldn’t even buy one at MSRP; the dealers wouldn’t sell them that cheap. If you are going to buy cheap; at least buy American made cheap.
  2. I owned a 597. I paid $140 with a scope from Bass Pro. I went through the feeding problems and new magazines until the rifle had over 500 rounds through it. But from day one out of the box I would put it up against any rimfire for accuracy. It was boring it was so accurate. I went to Rimfire Central and read about it before I bought it. I knew about the feeding problems and I knew how to get rid of them. But for $140 it was a heck of a deal. If I had paid $600 for a tricked out 10/22 and it had feeding problems, or was out shot by $140 rifle; I would have really been pissed.
  3. Probably, but that is what the market wants. The best selling guns are the ones that are cheap. People will put up with a gun that is not reliable as long as it’s cheap. All of the big names are putting their names on cheap POS from overseas and you will see recommendations on here for guns that have always been junk, simply because they are cheap. Remington owns the top of the rifle market; I guess the bottom is just as lucrative. However, it is my understanding this is a problem with the round; not the gun. I also believe the 597 is made here.
  4. Shoot it; it’s a Smith & Wesson so it’s already been shot and it wouldn’t make any difference anyway.
  5. No it won’t. We won’t like how this ends.
  6. I don’t think that if they tried they could have picked a place and time any better to ensure that a bunch of pro guns folks don’t show up.
  7. The Blackhawk Axiom I linked in my first post.
  8. Glad I could be of help. I’m still trying to find someone that has used the one I want for my 700 VLS.
  9. The prices of these things are all over the place. What do I need to easily be able to see .308 holes in a target at 300 yards? I want to put my money in guns and scopes; this is where I want to spend the absolute minimum to get the job done.
  10. According to the AG it is the carrying of a firearm when it is carried in a manner so as to be readily accessible and available for use in the carrying out of purposes either offensive or defensive. If you intend to do harm or carry in the commission of a crime other statutes or sections would apply.
  11. Like eBay, much of Gunbroker is simply retailing new guns. GunBroker can be a good source if you know how to use it. You see all the time “These are selling on GB for…” When in fact they aren’t selling anywhere near that; that is just a hopeful listing. If you join GunBroker you can search to find out what guns actually sold for. I’m really surprised at the jump in prices at Buds within the last year. Use to be that was the rock bottom price on the net and you went from there. Now their prices aren’t really any better than most others. I wonder who will be the next big dealer on the net. GoLSN is whacked anymore. But they have a market the legitimate dealers can’t sell to.
  12. Not sure if there is a difference in a Long action and a Long Action Mag, but you might check here, they have a bunch. Remington 700 DM RH L/A Magnum Synthetic Stock*|*e-GunParts.com
  13. It is an A misdemeanor here if you are in public with one or more person present. That includes highways. Or if you are under the influence.
  14. No, it not okay. It is a defense that the ammunition was not in the immediate vicinity. But that statute states that the ammunition was not in the vicinity of the person or the weapon.
  15. Is a DM different than a standard BDL stock?
  16. Check these out. I want one, but can’t find anyone that has owned one. BLACKHAWK! Axiom U/L Rifle Stock - BLACKHAWK!

    Kevlar Depends

They make them, but they are expensive and I don’t think MediCare will pay.

    My M&P 40

Looks nice. Did you do something to the slide or is it just the lighting? In the upper right and left middle it looks like a high polish blue, but in the middle right it looks normal.
  19. Carrying a loaded weapon is illegal in Tennessee, on you or in your vehicle.
  20. Internet stories are a dime a dozen; most of them are either made up or embellished to get a marathon thread started. No reason to fear the cops if you know what to do. The “where you can carry†stuff is getting a little out of hand. But that is because there are no “rights†involved. It’s a privilege you buy from the state and you have to play by their rules.
  21. Since it is your first 1911 you will (like everyone else) be trading and moving up. I would shoot it and enjoy it. Maybe you will get an opportunity to shoot some other 1911’s for comparison. You need to check that if it is important to you.
  22. I don’t think we mandated it. Japanese soldiers tried to grind off the mum because it was a disgrace to give away something that belonged to the Emperor.
  23. I didn’t attribute anything to you. I quoted what was in the story you posted. Don’t worry most can tell the difference. But based on your avatar and statements about the government I don’t know why it would concern you.
  24. I bet it has. But until now we have never had a President that would allow it to happen.
  25. Can you provide a link to those PDFâ€s other than that esnips site; its terrible to try to use. <O:p</O:p Your link is no good in the other post. I’m curious to read what happened initially, but all I can find is the video. Are you Hamblen?
