  1. Are we going “Back to the Future”?? So many MFG’s have brought new bolts to market. I don’t hunt, but I love bolt action rifles. All of mine are blue and Walnut (or laminate); I don’t have any “tactical” bolts. But anyway…. this is interesting. With it, it appears SIG is going to try to market another designer round they think we need; the .277 SIG Fury. However, they are offering it in the venerable .308 Winchester. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/sig-cross-rifle.html
  2. You can buy the kit the AF is using. http://cryhavoctac.com/ I don’t know how this will fair in accuracy and longevity testing, but I could see this becoming popular with those who like to “tinker” with their firearms. The MFG claims less than 1 MOA repeatability. I’m not sure this offers anything over the standard AR breakdown, for those of us that don’t have to fit our AR in an ejection seat; but its interesting.
  3. I’m amazed at what I’m reading here, because of who it is coming from. That any gun owner would think I should be arrested because my car was burglarized. Or that I am irresponsible because I put my gun out of sight and lock my vehicle. But those of you concerned about your homes may be right. If they think it’s your responsibility to make your car a fortress, the next logical step is your house. According to at least one that is especially true if you happen to live in an area with a lot of burglaries.
  4. Greg, we’re going to have to quit agreeing on LE issues; people will start to talk. I wasn’t really blaming the cops, other than politicians thinking that cops should arrest victims of crimes. Most cops aren’t going to do that. But some would, and rookies would have to if that’s the law. That being enacted into law would be the problem.
  5. We are in a gun friendly state….for now. What concerns me are the liberals that are going to want you to have to show that you saw a weapon and a “reasonable person” would think you were in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm when you run into their kid burglarizing your home in the middle of the night; and kill them. Or they will want to charge you when you kill someone that tries to pull you out of your car during a car jacking, only to find, after you kill them; that they are unarmed. My point is that when someone commits a criminal act against another; they should be held responsible for their crimes. The victim of a burglary can never be a criminal. And I don’t believe the state Supreme Court, or the SCOTUS will allow Nashville Metro government to do that.
  6. You are correct; sorry about that. https://www.targetsportsusa.com puts it on sale every once in awhile at these prices and allows us lowly citizens to buy it. GT Distributors sent me the email; I made the incorrect assumption they wanted my business.
  7. It’s a failure by the parents and it’s a failure by the community. We need to not only take the cuffs off the Police, but we need prosecutors that will get convictions and jail/prison time. That means building more/bigger jails and prisons. The taxpayers don’t want to pay for that. But keep in mind that burglary is not seen as a violent crime as was years ago. When I was a cop you could shoot a fleeing burglar. We didn’t have many burglars run when we caught them in the commission of a burglary, now everyone runs; they have no reason not to. Until they pull a weapon; some don’t think they are an immediate threat. When they do pull a weapon; sometimes its too late. A Metro Police Officer is going to trial charged with murder for killing a suspect that was running with a gun in his hand. What was going to happen when he got to the corner and had cover and the Officer didn’t? But Oh, that’s not important. Does anyone think that when they are willing to charge cops with murder for shooting violent criminals; they won’t charge a civilian when they kill an intruder? Certainly, they will. I know that Metro, like many Departments, probably doesn’t have the Officers for proactive Policing. And they go from one call to the next. But as you can see, even some gun owners here are okay with charging me with a crime if I simply lock my car doors when I go in somewhere that requires me to leave my gun in the car. If I was a liberal gun hating DA, I would much rather let the criminal go, that has no money for attorney fees and fines, in exchange for their testimony against a law abiding gun owner that may have the money to have to pay out attorney fees to my fellow attorneys and fines to the government. I am not a criminal hugger and I do not believe in second chances for criminals that commit violent crimes. Their second chance is after they do their prison time. Burglary of a car is a crime that deserves jail time the first time. Burglary of a house or business is a violent crime that should require mandatory prison time.
  8. Unless its with firearms safety. Then failure should be something to fear.
  9. Ha, Ha, Ha, I thought I covered that. Did you miss the part where I said Metro should quit eating donuts and go check their districts?
  10. As a former Police Officer, I get mad every time I see this topic come up. You can’t make a person a criminal because they are a victim of a burglary. Metro PD needs to get off their lazy azz and go do the job they get paid to do. The Chief of Police where I was would have laughed at this and the told those planning it “You can’t be serious”. I keep a handgun in my car and am planning on having a rifle. My vehicle is always locked; even when parked inside, in my garage. If a gun is stolen from my vehicle in a burglary and then discovered on a criminal that has just committed a crime, what do you think the criminal is going to say when asked if the vehicle was locked? Then a DA can make a name for himself by going after the terrible citizen that left his car “unlocked” with a gun in it. This is BS. Rant off.
  11. Well…. In the last election “The Economy” was the #1 issue. Because of the huge advancements Trump has made for Business and the working class; it no longer is. According to the MSM Healthcare is #1 now. Will voters disregard everything he has done for a candidate claiming, “free healthcare for all”? many won’t because they are smart enough to know that nothing is free and there will be a huge cost attached. But a big percentage of the population know they will not be impacted, or impacted very little by that cost. The Democrats have done a very good job of keeping healthcare discussions off the table until after the election. That way they can make all kind of ridiculous claims about what they will do, if elected. The Republicans need to address healthcare before the election. The Democrats are going to want to address mandatory background checks on all gun sales prior to the election.
  12. That could very well be. We all keep seeing that we are the most divided we have been in many years. I think a big part of that is because the division is so close. Most any issue could go either way.
  13. GT Distributors has a good sale on this right now. Around $20/50 box for 9MM, around $25 for .40S&W, .45ACP. I think they also have a store in the Chattanooga area. I don’t know if this sale is online only or not. https://www.gtdist.com/products/guns-firearms.html?cat=1031&limit=48&manufacturer=Federal+Cartridge
  14. No, I don’t need anymore expensive hobbies; I have enough.
  15. Because there aren’t enough of them. If it wasn’t for the Electoral College Hillary Clinton would be President. Imagine what that would be like. It appears we are divided about evenly between Conservatives/Liberals or Republican/Democrat. The group that wants the government to run their lives is getting bigger. Health Care appears to be the tool they will use to get it done. I don’t see how anyone could vote for a liberal, a democrat or certainly a socialist for anything; but it appears half the population may do it.
  16. I worked with a young man that told me he was a Jets fan. I told him I didn’t think I had watched a Jets game since Broadway Joe played. He said “I don’t know who that is??”
  17. I don’t know man; he’s rocking that bald head and those 70’s Aviators. He might pull it off.
  18. I’m looking for some .45 Colt range ammo. I saw this stuff that I can get locally at Sportsman Warehouse for $30/box of 50??? https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/ammunition-ammo-for-hunting-shooting-sports/handgun-ammo-hunting-shooting-sports/grizzly-cartridge-45-long-colt-250gr-rnfp-cowboy-handgun-ammo-50-rounds/p/1528762
  19. Yep. Some Democrats don’t have armed protection details and don’t want to be disarmed.

  21. We all get very busy with our careers so our family can be prosperous. But spend all the time you can with your kids. When you retire and have plenty of time to spend with your kids; they will be busy, and will have to try to work you into their schedules. You owe it to your kids to teach them that life is not fair. There are winners and losers. They will be judged when they enter the workplace. Teach them they don’t have to respect the person; but they will respect the rank. (“Rank” could be teachers, bosses, cops, etc.) Teach your kids to not be criminals, drunks or drug addicts. A big part of that is by example. There is a lot of good recommendations here about money. Heed them; life is easier when you have money. Don’t live beyond your means.
  22. I'm not sure what anonymous mode is, but you obviously can post, and I can see your name, and click on your profile, so whats anonymous?
  23. SCCY has a model with a Crimson Trace red dot with a MSRP of $330. Of course they did since I just bought a SCCY to try out in October. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I did clean it today so its ready for a range trip. Here’s info on the SCCY with the Red Dot they waited until I submitted my order on the old model to release. https://www.sccy.com/handguns/cpx-1rd/ They also have a striker fired model coming, the DVG-1, also available with the crimson trace. https://www.sccy.com/handguns/dvg/
  24. Never let it be said that PSA let a gun issue slide by without putting it on a lower.
  25. Not a bit of anything to do with that weed can cross state lines. (same with guns; but you can get permission) The Feds haven’t pursed states allowing the sale of drugs. They could shut it down in every state that does it, and arrest all the people they want, on any given day. It all depends on who is running the Justice Department. When Tennessee passed the TFFA they said it was legal for me to buy a suppressor made here without Federal involvement. Because I have a C&R FFL, I got a letter from the BATF that more or less said they would put me in prison if I did that. I’m good with letting our state handle our gun laws. the Feds are going to be in charge of Background checks on guns purchased through FFL’s, and NFA items, Everything else is pretty much up to our state. I’m good with that and I believe its better than the alternative. If we want laws changed; we have to get them changed. Passing legislation to ask LE to disregard a state or federal law isn’t fair to the people. It implies they won’t be arrested. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If the Feds want you; they will take you into Federal custody and tell the locals to go pound sand. No one will help you.
