    Impartial

That must be why in Bullseye competition everyone uses 9mm. You misunderstood. I have owned and carried on duty over a hundred handguns over the last 40 years. There is no doubt in my mind what is going to happen if we have a shoot off between Tupperware and 1911’s. What I was saying in that thread was that we would need to find an expert shot (hard enough) but also someone that is impartial (probably impossible). I know that I’m certainly not impartial. I own and have owned several Tupperware guns, but they are carry guns they certainly are not competition guns. And I wouldn’t walk across the street to get a Glock if they were giving them away free; if I had to keep it. Therefore I couldn’t give it a fair chance. Hey I’m just being honest. You couldn’t be impartial either; you just judged a firearm on nothing but emotion. In one paragraph you mentioned Kimber, Les Brown, Wilson Combat, and Nighthawk, but said the best was a WWII 1911your great uncle had. Was it better than those you mentioned? Heck no, you have got to be kidding me. You were 13 years old and didn’t know the first thing about a good handgun. It was a good emotional experience for you because your great uncle, whom you respected, let you shoot this weapon. Nothing wrong with that; but that doesn’t make it better than those others you mentioned. You are correct when you say most of it is on the shooter. Dave Sevigny would outshoot me if I had a $5000 handgun. But I think he would be the first to say that if he was standing next to the top 1911 shooter and the top revolver shooter at a 50 yard bulls eye match; he is coming in last.
  2. That’s easy to determine. Shoot for groups. Aim at the same point each time and don’t “chase†or compensate for where they impact. Don’t even try to see them or have anyone tell you where they hit, concentrate on the point you are aiming at. You have to have a tight group, doesn’t matter where it is. Once you can do that, you can worry about sight adjustment and ballistics.
  3. And what is the height from the bore axis to the scope axis?
  4. You can buy and own a Police Badge without proof.
  5. The difference at 50 yards with a 100 yard zero would only be about a bullet diameter.

    40 vs the 9mm?

I’m just messing with you man. You are too far from me, but I would like to watch. I would like to find an expert pistol shooter that would shoot several different guns and put some of this to rest. The problem would be finding someone impartial. I would like to see them shoot some mid range 1911’s (S&W, Kimber, etc) against some high dollar 1911’s ($2500-$3500) and then against any Tupperware guns (Glock, M&P, etc)

    Sights like these?

    40 vs the 9mm?

You are going to bring just a plain out of the box Glock and shoot against a 1911 in a 25 yard pistol match?

    40 vs the 9mm?

Wow… a challenge. Couple of questions… What are you going to bring? And what is Accurcity?

    40 vs the 9mm?

Sorry, but they went to semi's after Illinois State Police. Hoover didn’t like semi's.
  11. What about Steven Segal LAWMAN. You have a bunch of 50 something year old high ranking brass running the streets with an actor acting like they are street cops. Seeing them chase someone is hilarious. And acting like a reserve Officer is the Chief… yeah right.
  12. It has been deemed not unconstitutional by the highest court in the land. Only the SCOTUS is higher; they are the interpreters of the Constitution. If they decide to stand silent; all is well and the Constitution is working. Life is not fair. State Legislators can change a law at the state level, and Congress at a Federal level.
  13. Don, David and Colby are bullet proof. The rest of the entry team is not; that is why they go first.
  14. He can certainly try. It appears he may have the NRA helping with his bills. (But I would be interested to know if that is true.) That’s pretty clear cut and has already been addressed by the SCOTUS. I don’t see them hearing it on a 2nd argument, unless his attorneys have some other reason they think the Court may hear it.
  15. She’s a TV actor not a cop. But it doesn’t matter because the person she was handing it to would verify that it is clear.

    40 vs the 9mm?

I’ll take the M&P over the Glock. The .40S&W is a superior round to the 9mm. That’s been beat to death here, but that’s why many departments have made the switch to .40.
  17. You can’t get it overturned. We see that posted here all the time. “I would take it all the way to the Supreme Courtâ€. You don’t have that option. I know; I tried. All 2nd amendment cases will stop at the Federal District Courts. Almost all of the Federal Districts courts have ruled that the 2nd is not an individual right. Yes, I know in Heller they ruled ownership is an individual right; but they also ruled that the states can still regulate carry, or the right to bear. The Federal Districts will rule that way. The SCOTUS picks and chooses what it hears. You can’t force them to hear a case.
  18. Gator Navy. That looks like a mini version of an LPD.
  19. From DPMS...
  20. Isn’t that Bear ammo lacquered coated steel case?
  21. Laws based on the Castle Doctrine do not allow a free shoot or create free fire zones. If investigation shows that a person has submitted, is incapacitated, has surrendered or is fleeing; you may still find yourself in court if you shoot them. They mainly just acknowledge the presumption that you are in danger if engaged by an intruder. Tennessee’s law change didn’t make as big a splash as Florida’s because Tennessee never had a duty to retreat; Florida did.

    Revolvers

Well here is the good news… No matter what you want in a revolver S&W has it. The 610 or the 29 are both great weapons. I personally don’t care for the size of the N-frames. I have owned them and carried them and they are too big for my needs. But if they fit your needs they are built like tanks. The 610 is going to have a lock, but the 29 you can get in a Pre-Lock. The lock wouldn’t keep me from buying one, but if you can find a pre-lock it will hold value better. I kinda like wheel guns....
  24. We don’t have a justice system; we have a legal system. And any one that thinks you are innocent until proven guilty has never been arrested, handcuffed, thrown in jail and had to wait for arraignment or a bond hearing. I doubt the Feds will have any interest in your case, but good luck anyway.

    FNAR v. M1A?

I bought the DPMS for a short range SHTF .308 rifle. I haven’t shot it past 100 yards. It had a Leupold 3X9X40 VX-I on it at the time and shot good groups. Probably could get better but I was setting up the scope at the time. I also have a Remington 700 VLS in .308 with a Leupold 6.5X20X40 LR VX-III that I shoot beyond that. That is a tack driver, but given the difference in actions and optics; that is a given. I have heard guys brag about the DPMS at long range but I have not tried it. As far as reliability I have never had a FTF or a problem with it. I bought the PLR-16 prior to the law being passed allowing us (HCP) to carry rifles in the vehicle. It’s a go to weapon if something really bad was happening while on the road, or like you say, you just stop by the range for some fun. I have only put maybe 100 rounds through it but I have had no problems. The hand guards and the muzzle break are required options. My God it is loud without that muzzle break. Even though it is classified as a handgun; it’s a SBR without having to pay the tax. Would I strap it across my chest and go for a walk though Radnor Lake Park? Not hardly.
