A copy of a Kimber???? Who wants that? You can already buy cheap knock offs of 1911’s; they are all over the place. They are junk and putting Kimbers name on the side of them won’t change that. But they aren’t $200 anymore. They are $500 and they are selling because they are cheap. You can buy a Chinese copy of a Leupold scope, EOtech sight, or a set of Callaway golf clubs. They are not marketed to people that want a cheap alternative; they are being sold by criminals that try to pass them off as the real deal.

Most Americans are in denial. They don’t care where something is made as long as it is cheap. The Chinese didn’t do anything to us; we did this to ourselves. We can stop it at any time, but it looks like it will have to get a lot worse before we have everyone’s attention. War with China is not a real big concern. MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) is in force and will be until technology is developed that can neutralize the threat of ballistic submarines and ICBM’s. (The Strategic Defense initiative) China (Japan, India, Etc) doesn’t want a war with us. They just want a good economy. We seem more than willing to turn our backs on our own economy. We buy their stuff made by laborers working under terrible conditions and we even turn a blind eye to their obvious patent infringements against U.S and other countries manufacturers. We won’t pay for this our children and Grandchildren will. And if some of you are still alive they may look you in the eye and ask “How could you have been so ignorant?â€

You have got to be kidding me. Is this really an issue?

No it won’t; they are spring loaded. They take up the shock of over travel. You have your mind made up and that’s that; but some of us are commenting for those that really question if it’s a good idea.

Knowledge of metallurgy and mechanics tells me it is not good. No, occasionally dry firing will not hurt it. But the weapon is designed for the firing pin to be stopped by the round; not by the shock of over travel. Call Glock and see what they tell you. I don’t see why this is such a big issue anyway, why would you risk repeated dry firing when you can use a snap cap?

No reputable gunsmith will tell you to dry fire any weapon without snap caps. Call Glock or S&W, they will both tell you that they will fix your gun if you break it and they will both tell you to use snap caps. Check out Glocks punched out breech faces. You think everything just floats to a stop in air?

It’s too big. I love the M&P’s (as far as Tupperware goes) I have owned four and have two 40,s in full and Compact now. I really wanted the .45 to complete my set, but when handing it at the store I just couldn’t justify it. It’s bigger and fatter than my 1911. I wouldn’t carry it and it isn’t going to outperform my 1911’s at the range; so I couldn’t justify it for anything but home protection. If I wasn’t into 1911’s I would have one; they are nice.

Man, I’m a Smith & Wesson fan all the way; but the Sigma is a POS. I laughed my azz off the first time I pulled the trigger on a sigma. Anytime you see a rant about S&W quality; you can bet it’s a Sigma. S&W designed it for the low end market; it is a sub $300 gun new. Save a couple of hundred more and get an M&P or just buy something else.

If you are just going to flip it on here; no that’s not a great price. But if you want a bolt, that is a hell of a deal compared, to what you would have to spend to get something of that quality today. Especially if that is the original Walnut stock. I would jump on it at $300, but that’s because I would like to have it to keep.

There is just no way to compare a P-11 to any small revolver; its apples and oranges. If you want a small revolver and you think recoil may be a problem; stay away from the aluminum, titanium, or unknownium frames and go with steel or stainless. Not only do they have less perceived recoil; they are better quality weapons. Then you would need to compare the Taurus to the revolver than owns that category; the Smith & Wesson J-frame. Take a look at the stainless Model 60; it can use .38, .38+P, or .357 mag. Good deals can still be found on the used Pre-Locks, and they will always have great resale.

And if a U.S. company tried it they would be shut down by patent infringement suits.

Yes. If the feed ramp is the problem, it is because of the finish or the shape. I doubt your EMP has a rough finish, does it? If it does I would use Happich Simichrome on a gun patch using your finger to polish. You should be able to find it at a local motorcycle shop; our Harley dealer carries it. If it won’t feed one type on ammo very well it is probably shape; either don’t use that ammo or send it back to the factory for rework. Dremel tools spin fast and will remove material even with polishing compound. Not something you want on a feed ramp.

That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw “Longrange tactical Varmit killing machine†but he wants a long action. Why? Is he shooting more than 1000 yards?

Anyone using these? Are they adjustable? To me this is far more desirable than a grip mounted laser. But I wonder how they hold up under the stress/shock of being in the guide rod?

I’m certainly not a Democrat, but the smart Democrats (is there such a thing? ) shouldn’t be quitting and need to be fighting this guy unless they want to see the Democratic Party turn into the Socialist party.

When I was charged with having a gun in my car in Illinois, I wanted to fight it by claiming my 2<SUP>nd</SUP> amendment rights. I asked the NRA for help and they said they don’t help anyone charged with a crime.

Is this a new gun? I’ve never heard of it and when googling it I ran across a thread on the high road that was started 5 years ago and picked back up recently. There were some owners in there that didn’t have much good to say about it. I have used ported pistols and revolvers both in competition, but wouldn’t want one for carry.

I had the same problem… taking an arsenal to the range. Academy runs these cases on sale for about $24. They are very cheaply made and are usually already banged up in the store, but they will hold two rifles and have thick foam padding. The foam would probably cost near that much. Both Federal and Remington have free software you can download. I had a real good one that was way better than either of these, and was free. But now I can’t find it and don’t remember who’s it was. But here’s a screen shot if anyone recognizes it…. I thought it was from Remington or Federal but it isn’t the same stuff they are offering now.

A little bit of tea blew out my nose when I saw that statement made by someone with the screen name 10mm4me.

I haven’t shot the bull barrel 10/22, but I would go the factory route unless you just want to get into having a bunch of money in a 10/22 build. I bought the Remington 597 at Bass Pro with a scope on sale for like $149.00. I liked it because it has almost a full size stock instead of the child sized stock of the 10/22. It took over 1K rounds to get the action broke in to where it would feed properly, but once it was broke in it was fine. It was boring; it would shoot quarter (probably more like dime ) sized groups all day at 25 yards (indoor range). I bought a Remington 552 Speedmaster off a forum member here a few months ago that appears to made exceptionally well; but I haven’t had it to the range yet. The Ruger 10/22 Target with the Bull barrel looks pretty nice. But at around $600 for the rifle and a decent scope; it’s getting pretty pricey just for trigger time.

How big is his head? I don’t shoot .223 in rifle but my software tells me that a 55 gr .223 zeroed at 50 yards will hit less than an inch high at 100. (.6 to .7â€)
