  1. I’m all about Smith & Wesson. They are the #1 gun maker in the world in my opinion and have protected me and mine for over thirty years. Having said that I wouldn’t recommend a Sigma to someone on a budget. They just need to save a couple of hundred more and get an M&P if they want a Tupperware gun. But if it makes anyone feel better I would take a Sigma over a Glock any day. You damn sure won’t have an ND with a Sigma.
  2. I don’t know. I don’t keep guns long enough to get a holster from them.
  3. Yes Yes They are dependable You really need to actually shoot a Sigma before you can comment on it.
  4. Do the banks know he is a convicted felon?
  5. Don’t worry about the community; there are people paid to take care of that. All you can do is what you think is right to protect yourself and your family. If you shoot a neighbor’s dog (or anything else) in your yard with a gun there is a very good chance you will be arrested. But if that happens you will be able to go to court (on your dime) and make a case for yourself.
  6. The first step is to get a lawyer. A friend of mine wanted to do this. I didn’t personally know any Attorneys in Tennessee that work in this area, so I recommended he call John Harris. He talked to Harris on the phone and then paid him a retainer. Later, Harris told him that the problem was the state of Tennessee. He said that even with an expungement the state of Tennessee will not restore gun rights if the conviction was drug related or a violent felony. My friend’s conviction was for a drug possession charge 25 years ago. It was the only time he was ever arrested and he has not been in any trouble since. But that doesn’t matter. Yes, he did his time and has never been a problem since, but that mistake will stay with him as long as he lives in Tennessee. It’s tough to argue for convicted felons; no one wants to hear it and I seriously doubt any politician would support it. DUI and Domestic Violence are two misdemeanors I can think of that stay with a person for life.
  7. Because Smith & Wesson is too long of a name for a screen name and is harder to spell? We can't wait.
  8. I’ve seen those guys around Murfreesboro.
  9. I agree with everything you say, and if it is true your wife delivers the animals to a “No Kill†shelter. If she doesn’t, she is just a dog catcher and is part of a system that is barbaric.
  10. I need another scope mount. Does J&T have their own table?

    Well, Son of a B****

Why in the world would you want to do that?

    Well, Son of a B****

Why not? I called the TBI and they told me. They were wrong, but they still told me why they initially turned it down and that it had then been approved.
  13. I don’t think there are going to be any surprises. The right to own guns in your home is an individual right; the regulation of bearing arms is a State Right. That is how the SCOTUS has already ruled; I don’t see anything different happening in this case.
  14. I think that by the time you covered the 50 feet to your truck and got back, some of the other parents would have grabbed some bats and taken care of the problem. Then the local PD would have a flurry of calls from parents that were freaking out because you would pull a gun on a school baseball field. But hey… I could be wrong.
  15. If the cops and District Attorney decided it was in self defense; they are not required to prosecute. However, there is no ban from prosecution. Here is what the Tennessee Supreme Court said about it. (The entire transcript is interesting reading if you want to know why the court was looking at this case.) http://www.tba2.org/tba_files/TCCA/2008/clarkt_041108.pdf
  16. When were you in the military and what branch?
  17. Well there you have it. Have you thought about a career in computer graphics?
  18. I hate people that do not control their animals. I also hate people that kill animals for sport.
  19. Then they would have to argue it in court; they don’t want that. It is not “Right to work†that just means that joining a union can’t be a condition of employment. It is “Employment at Will†and simply means that unless you have an employment contract either party can terminate without penalty. Most companies don’t give reasons anymore when they let you go; they don’t need to. I’m not in a union and don’t want to be, but if you want your job protected; join a union. That is what they do; protect your job when you have pissed the boss off. Tennessee puts business above the worker. That’s why you can’t sue your employer in Tennessee if you get hurt at work. It’s also (IMO) why you will never see legislation that allows you to carry in posted businesses.
  20. All cops don’t get the same training, and cops aren’t trained to shoot in any given situation; they are taught the law and what will justify the use of deadly force. Most of the situations you see with cops doing it are when the car is intentionally trying to run over the cop on a traffic stop or in trying to get away. If you are not in a direct path of the vehicle it is simply fleeing and you can’t shoot (based on that alone). A Nashville cop did it a couple of years ago and was cleared because he was in front of the vehicle and had nowhere to go. If I remember right he went up on the hood and shot the guy through the windshield.

    Marlin 1894C

Judging by the prices I’m seeing there must be two different models of this rifle. One is around $500 and the other is around $700. They do the same thing with the 336; one has a plastic looking stock and a lousy blue job and the other has a wood stock and a good blue job. One just ended on GB $575 and never got a bid. (Auction # 158666177) But I advertised here and a couple of other places and never found one, so unless you want a long wait I’d say a fair price is whatever the seller is asking.

Sounds like a great idea. I sold my 30/30 levers, but I sure wouldn’t pass up a chance at a lever in .357Mag.
