Certainly. That is as long as it’s someone that would be intimidated by that, and is less trained that you are. But if it’s a gang banger that rolls the window down and drops you dead while doing your intimidating "OC strut"; it would not be very smart.

It’s the guys from “Cheatersâ€.

Just curious. Why would you pay $271 for the Nikon RifleHunter 550 when the Nikon ProStaff 550 is $195? The specs appear to be pretty much the same.

I could be wrong but I disagree also. Federal powers of arrest come from Federal Statute, not state law. Of course, a state could refuse to enforce any Federal law they choose. But that does not protect someone that is the custody of federal agents. Once you were taken into custody on Federal weapons charges charge there would be nothing the state could do to protect you. <O:p</O:p Without going into a lot of detail I will offer this example of the Feds controlling the powers of arrest (on federal charges) of a local Sherriff. Phil you have watched too many Vietnam movies. I was in the service during Vietnam, and while I was not in combat and did not face an AK, I was on an amphibious assault ship with 1000 Marines. We discussed the AK; none of them wanted one to use as a combat rifle. As I said before the AK is a POS by design. The only thing it has going for it over an AR is the caliber. It’s a larger caliber than the AR but that only helps when you are close enough to hit the target. The AK certainly is not the long distance shooter the AR is. The AR of today is far more reliable than the AR of the Vietnam era. But it’s still a .223. If the AR had been 7.62 NATO, no one would ever choose the AK for anything other than maybe a boat paddle.

That is correct. I can’t for the life of me understand how a dealer could look at the pistol, not be able to reassemble it either, and then tell you he can’t take it back. I go to that show in Murfreesboro and would like to know who it was so I don’t buy anything from them. I also can’t understand how Kahr can have both you and the dealer calling them and telling them that the gun has a problem, and still not issuing a shipping label on a one day old gun.

I’m really curious to see what Daley does. I don’t think the state would back him in an outright refusal to remove the gun ban, but if they did there isn’t much that could be done. But it’s going to be a great side show.
-
Possibly, but not likely. The court is being very clear that they will be ruling on an outright ban on handgun ownership. They will not be getting in the way of state control of carry or other bans.
-
That’s because they were out of ammo from shooting all the guys carrying AK’s, and there were plenty of AK’s lying around. I damn sure wouldn’t want to carry an AK into battle and I doubt most of our troops would either.

Are Glock sights white outlined and adjustable?
-
I want to drag this back up before I start a new thread. I hate three dot sights. I probably would never use sights in a defensive shooting situation; it’s just not how I am trained. (Just to clarify that my application is target shooting only) I have a couple of M&P’s (Full and Compact .40) that I would like to put some sights on for better target shooting at the range. This rear sight looks like something I would like, except that I would like a white outline. It appears that the serrations on the face of this sight would make that impossible. I would like to find something that is adjustable on the rear sight, white outline sight blade or interchangeable sight blades and a plain solid front post or a front post with inserts. I understand that Tupperware guns are not target guns, but basically I’m looking for the same options I would have on a revolver used for competition. Any ideas?

Exactly. If I tell you “It’s yours” or “I’ll take it”, you can take that to the bank. Unfortunately though that does not seem to be the norm. For many, money means more than their own integrity. You are correct; it was how you were raised.

Your plan on the use of deadly force should work in all 50 states…. I believe mine will. (Although I admit I have not read the deadly force statutes for all 50 states.) You are justified in the use of deadly force if a reasonable person would believe you, or another, is in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. Keep in mind that no one will care what you thought; only what a reasonable person would think. Also keep in mind that the “Reasonable People†will have days to consider if the decision you made in seconds was the right one.

AK’s were junk when they were made…. They were designed that way intentionally. I couldn’t believe it when I saw them hitting $500. Who in their right mind would pay $500 for POS AK?

Nothing to "get over". If it’s that good of a deal I know that the deal is not done until I have gun in my hand and the seller is gone. Just like buying and selling cars… until you see tail lights driving off; there is no deal.

The question in Illinois has nothing to do with carry, so I doubt the court will address it. I’m simply saying that Illinois does not allow carry… period. I am sure that will still be the case after the McDonald ruling. Nothing is going to change as far as Illinois state law goes. I am curious to see what is going to happen after this ruling. Daley is not use to being told how things are going to go in Chicago. I just wish in Illinois we could keep the 2nd amendment arguments out of the carry permit arguments.

Yep. That’s what insurance is for. Just buy more guns.

Great. I have a DPMS Panther in .308 (LR-308 AP-4). I thought I wanted the 24" heavy barrel until Joe at Hero Gear put it in my hands and asked if I was sure that was what I wanted. I opted for the AP-4. For Long range application I went with a Remington 700 VLS in .308. I think you would be better off just selling what you have and buy a flat top.

Here are some before and after pics of a model 19 I had refinished locally. Mechanically the gun was in great shape, the finish was trashed from carry and lack of care. I didn’t have any problem selling it. I did all the prep work, stripped it, glass beaded it, buffed everything, etc. I told the guy that blued it I wanted the blue like S&W use to put on guns that was high gloss, almost black. I think he did an excellent job.
-
What is the price difference between .223 and .243 ammo? I would think that it would be substantial enough to be the deciding factor. Do you go deer hunting?.... No….. So that is not even a factor in this decision. If someone out of the blue asks you to go they will probably out of the blue offer you a rifle to use also. My target rifle is a .308, but don’t let anyone kid you it kicks like a mule. Even the macho men will know when they have fired 100 rounds. If I was not shooting past 400 yards I would go with a .223 heavy barrel. Don’t spend all your money on the gun because a quality scope is the other half of the equation.

Nothing wrong with the way you are doing it. Enjoy those 15 packs (except have a date set) and then quit. I have used both the Chantix and Nicoderm CQ. I think the Nicoderm CQ is the best if you go into it understanding that while you are using the patches you are still getting nicotine. You will still have cravings after you go off the patches, but they are manageable and won’t be as bad as cold turkey. That gun won’t be any incentive to quit. Lets face it… you are 51 years old and know that what you are doing is killing you; if that doesn’t make you stop a new 1911 won’t. Try this…. Go 90 days without smoking and then you get that 1911. It gives you incentive and if you can make 90 days…. You can quit. Good luck.

I would check these out for mounting the Leupold. I get them from J&T at the local gun shows. (I got one at the Nashville show and one at the Murfreesboro show). They are well made, rock solid, and cost less than most other one piece mounts. ($50 OTD) Sorry for the lousy pics, but he cell phone was laying here.
