  1. Are you kidding me? Of course they are going to laugh at you, most will do it to your face. If you are going to be close enough to a deer for a kill shot with an AK; just use your shotgun. It will probably work out better for you and everyone won’t be pointing at you and laughing.
  2. Having a bill of sale and requiring ID can help you if the following happens to you…. You are arrested for selling to an out of state resident. You are arrested for selling to a minor. You are arrested for selling to a convicted felon. (ID’s and Bills of sale won’t get you out of this one but it will help a lot more than having no paperwork; if you just sold to a convicted felon.) As far as what Tennessee law is check here… http://michie.lexisnexis.com/tennessee/lpext.dll?f=templates&fn=main-h.htm&cp=tncode Tennessee law doesn’t require you to ask for or see ID; but it is a crime to sell to a minor. Tennessee law doesn’t require you to ask the buyer to submit to BAC or drug testing; but it is a crime to sell to someone that is intoxicated. Federal law requires that handgun sales to or from out of state parties go through an FFL. The fact that you didn’t know they were from out of state might be your defense; but it could be one you will be presenting at your trial. Federal law doesn’t give you access to run a background check; but it is a crime to sell to a known convicted felon.
  3. I wish you would have simply taken down his license plate number and then at a more convenient time, walked your azz into Franklin PD and made a complaint. Then when you made an internet story out of it; we would know if it was a cop. Because right now all we know is that two not very smart people met in a parking lot. One got his feelings hurt and one got a parking space. All that matters is this…. Did the badge story save face with the new chick? You got all that from this parking lot incident?
  4. This is what I have on the Suburban. It is 7.62 Nato, but they might make one for you in .40 or 9mm if you are concerned about ammo cost. YouTube - Dillon Tactical Vehicle
  5. Mine has the serial number on the left side of the receiver right under “Model 552â€. But it’s only about five years old. If you give Remington a call during working hours they have a historian that will tell you anything you want to know.
  6. If that’s made here by Remington and has a street price under $700; Remington just hit a home run.
  7. Duct tape will fix that.
  8. Anyone know of any auto detailers in Murfreesboro they would recommend? I found a couple but they are kinda pricey for me not having seen their work.
  9. Okay.. Good luck But get your C&R and you don’t need luck.
  10. The state isn’t going to automatically give or transfer ownership to anyone. But it’s a civil court (Divorce Court, etc) that will deal with the issue, not a criminal court. Your wife can’t steal your gun and she can’t steal your car while you are married. No. The same way she would if she bought it from one of us on the forum…. No background check required. Yes, but its Federal law, not state law. You would only be in violation of Federal law if you bought the gun for your wife knowing that she can’t legally own a firearm. The state doesn’t require a check on a private sale. If your wife was a convicted felon and she took your gun; you could call the Police and have her arrested for “Felon in Possessionâ€. She would go to prison and you wouldn’t have to worry about anything…. Until she got out.
  11. I can’t direct you to the laws, other than ATF.gov, but pre 1899 are not even logged into bound books. Transfer through an FFL is always the best way to go if you are not sure of the laws or the status pertaining to the weapon. The state doesn’t require a background check on private sales, but the FFL holder will.
  12. Your Georgia license is good in Tennessee. The cops aren’t going to address the employer issue unless they are called to escort you out. Tennessee is employment at will; so unless you have a contract they don’t need to give a reason for letting you go.
  13. They aren’t going to kill you; let’s not get crazy. You and I are the same age. For our entire lives the 2nd amendment has been fought in the courts. Citizens will not have a right to carry guns (that they can exercise) in our lifetime. It just can’t happen. You will have a right to bear arms without a permit when and if the Tennessee legislature decides that is what they want to do. Will the SCOTUS incorporate the 2nd? I don’t know. But I am absolutely sure that no matter what they do the people of Illinois and Tennessee won’t be strapping on their guns and walking down the street. It doesn’t matter what happens in Chicago with the McDonald case. The Feds don’t have the authority or the ability to dictate to the states that their citizens can carry guns. If I am wrong and the people of Illinois are allowed to strap on their guns and walk down the street I will get on this forum and make a public apology for not knowing WTF I am talking about. But trust me when I say I’m not working on any rough drafts. I don’t want you to think I’m making fun of this or that I don’t think people should be allowed to carry. I believe it is a right. Unfortunately the courts and our elected politicians do not agree with me.
  14. I apologize, I thought you were wondering how cops felt about you being armed. I would guess their feelings about the meaning and intent of the 2nd amendment would be just like the rest of the population…. Split. Maybe I’m in the minority here, but when I think of a person being able to defend their very life against a killer; I just don’t see the need to have the 2nd amendment validated as a stamp of approval.
  15. 1-3 are all the same question just worded differently as far as I can tell. So I’ll address #4. If the question you are asking is do cops support you carrying a gun; the answer is …yes. I know a couple of hundred cops and most of them believe that you should be able to carry a gun. This in no way shape or form has anything to do with the 2nd amendment. The problem is that cops don’t make the laws; they enforce them. Even the ones they don’t believe are right.
  16. Your Doctor can kill you if he has a bad day or is not focused while he is operating on you. Another driver can kill you because they are having a bad day…. Or simply think its okay to have a cell phone chat while driving. The world is a dangerous place. How a cop’s day is going shouldn’t impact your life, but sorry… they are people and it might. But you do have recourse. If you are an HCP holder and a cop puts you on the ground or makes you eat gravel for no reason at all; there is something you can do about it. Police Command Officers and administrators are not limited by state law on what is allowed and what is not. An Officer can be disciplined or even fired for being too aggressive or being disrespectful to citizens.
  17. Gator Navy. Those were after my time. I was a machinist on LPD-15. During landings/operations I was a Mike Boat Engineer.
  18. The SCOTUS has already said that you have a right to keep arms, but not the right to bear arms. Since Daley made an argument that ruling did not apply to Illinois; the case will be heard again. The Court will rule the same way they did in Heller, but in this case they will answer the question of whether or not a total ban on handguns is reasonable. The SCOUTS is never going to make a state allow carry; it just isn’t going to happen. I believe several states would flatly refuse compliance. We already fought a war over that. I’m pretty sure I know how this case will go. What I am unsure about is what Daley’s response will be. But if it doesn’t go his way; it could be entertaining. What earth shattering acknowledgement of rights do you think is going to take place in Illinois with this case? Here is a link to the Illinois Constitution. If you are questioning what is in it, click on “Bill of Rights†and read Section 22. Illinois Constitution
  19. I can debate either side of what your 2nd amendment rights are. But it is pointless; no matter which side you take you end up at the same point….. You do not have a right to bear arms in the state of Tennessee and if you choose to bear arms without first paying the state and getting permission you are subject to arrest. If you want to argue how things should be; I have said many times I believe that we have a right to carry; but I am not tying that right to a dog like the 2mnd amendment. Shoot man, you are beat before you get started.
  20. Good deal. It’s always good to hear about a company that takes care of their customers; it is truly rare.
  21. Why? It is illegal to bear arms in both states. Illinois Constitution SECTION 22. RIGHT TO ARMS Subject only to the police power, the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Tennessee Constitution 26. Weapons; right to bear arms That the citizens of this State have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.
  22. I would like to think that you are right that something will happen; but I doubt it. I may be wrong (and I hope I am) but I don’t think there are enough Patriots left to do anything about it. If our economy collapses the Constitutional issues mean nothing. Our economy is being destroyed by us. We can’t blame the government or any other country for that. We could change that today and we choose not to. So if “The People†will stand by and watch as their economy circles the drain; I doubt they will get real excited over a Constitutional Amendment even a Constitutional Convention….. Do you?
  23. It would have made a cool video to show them dropping their stern gate and deploying one of these….
  24. Google Speer 53617. I found several places that were $25-$30 for a box of 50.
