  1. Thanks, their web site looks great. Might be time for a motorcycle trip.

    One nice K40

Besides being great looking those finishes are functional. It makes clean up after a shoot a breeze. You also don’t need to worry about scratching them because if you do it’s a pretty easy fix; unlike blue or painted finishes. Here’s a 6†686 I did in a few hours while watching TV.
  3. Thats what I use also.
  4. All my revolvers are Smith & Wesson, but I wouldn’t be afraid to buy a Ruger SP101. In the small guns; heavy is better. Check that gun out against the S&W Model 60. (Those would be the top two competitors in that size and stainless.)
  5. That’s surface rust. The stainless is not hurt a bit, the steel components will clean up, and unless there is some kind of coating sprayed over the aluminum; it’s okay also. But right now any plain steel parts inside that gun are rusting and starting to pit. Sorry for your loss. I assume insurance will replace the car?
  6. From what I have seen posted here the short story is that you can only shoot there if you are participating in a match. Waldens is 300 meters.

    GA Precision Rifles

No, but I sure would rethink your caliber choice.
  8. You can legally buy and sell as you like as long as it’s a private party sale. State law is 18. 21 is federal law and applies to dealers. I don’t know if an FFL would buy from you or not; but I would try a private party sale.
  9. I don’t know anything about the “National Association for Gun Rights†so I googled it. There is a lot of controversy. Online petitions are meaningless. If someone wanted to give to the cause why would they want to give their money to this group instead of the NRA? I don’t belong to either group, but I kind of thought the guy was a little whacked when he got that head going and said … “It really doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why they would want to do that. And you really don’t have to believe in conspiracy’s to see why the Federal government tracking all those firearm sales and gun owners is a bad idea.†Seriously though… if this guy is a friend of yours or something don’t get pissed. I just wondered if he is so stupid he thinks signing an internet petition will do anything*; what he would do with our money? * Other than causing you to have way more spam in your inbox.

    New Rifle

Good deal. What distance and what caliber?
  11. Not as tactical looking, but I’ll stick with my Dillon Tactical Suburban. Just Kidding. Mount this on it... YouTube - Dillon Tactical Vehicle
  12. You did the right thing. The rules change when you are carrying a gun. I’m not getting in a fight while I’m armed, and I’m damn sure not pulling off the road in a road rage incident. My freedom is more important than a bruised ego. I would be pissed for a couple of hours though.

Thank him for his service and let him know we support what he is doing.
  14. If you allow the wearing of those T-shirts you should be able to wear the American Flag on any day. By sending them home the dumb ass Asst. Principal drew a line in the sand. What did he think would happen? At least the School District issued a statement that they didn’t approve of what was done. FOXNews.com - Tensions High at California High School Following Flag Flap
  15. It seems there is Illinois case law on this. firstamendmentcenter.org: commentary
  16. Since its stainless steel and aluminum you shouldn’t have any signs of rust yet. Hoppes #9 will work fine; you just need enough of it to submerge the frame and parts and soak it overnight. Thoroughly clean the parts and lube. (Break Free CLP or any common gun oil will work fine. Don’t use stuff not designed for guns like WD-40.) The problem is not really just the water; but all the garbage in the water. You need to make sure you get everything off so it doesn’t give rust a place to start. Some of the internal parts of your gun may be steel.
  17. I went for a quick ride awhile ago. It is beautiful riding weather today.
  18. Its stainless steel and aluminum; it will be fine. But its needs to be completely disassembled and the parts soaked to get rid of all the crap that was in the water. Oil and reassemble and it should be fine.
  19. Keep us informed on how it works out. I doubt a muzzle break or Mag-na-Port will tame it considerably. I have a .308 Remington 700 VLS that is a beast when you are talking about shooting 50-100 rounds in one sitting. I have bought a PAST recoil pad, but haven’t tried it out yet. PAST I thought the BlackHawk Axiom rifle stock looked like a good idea, but I couldn’t find anyone that had one on a 700 Heavy barrel and the company wouldn’t respond to my email; so I gave up that idea.
  20. Well that’s good news for two groups. Those that only buy American will have a low cost 1911 available to them. And those that don’t care where their 1911 is made they just want it to be cheap will see the prices of the Philippines made guns drop. I’m really curious to see an impartial test of this weapon. I would buy one just to do that if I could get one at the price Buds was selling them at. EDIT: I’m not impartial though.
  21. Do you understand what the sign meant when you saw it? If your argument is that you did not; you may have a valid defense in court if you are cited. If your argument is that it was not a legal sign; the judge will make that call in court if you are cited. Is there case law that would clarify the law? That is something that we don’t know. Why would you want to sue? Right now you may have a defense should you choose to ignore the law. If you force a clear cut sign; they will be printed by some enterprising individual and sold to the anti-gun business owners. Has anyone been cited or arrested for this? It sure is talked about a lot for something that as far as we can tell has not happened.
  22. Does it need to be a semi-auto? Cheap Tupperware guns aren’t going to make good target guns. But $400 might get you close to a revolver that would be good for target shooting. (If you found the right deal.)
  23. Certainly there are. In criminal trials I have been instructed by the Judge that there are things I saw at crime scenes that I could not comment on during my testimony. I have also been told that while I could say I recognized the suspect that was fleeing the scene; I could not say I recognized him because I had arrested him for burglary. I think Police Officers or anyone else should be able to say anything they like during testimony; but I would bet you would be one of the first here to disagree. Judges pretty much do what they want. Life isn’t fair; make sure you don’t have to end up in front of one.
  24. I’ve never seen a Judge throw someone in jail for the way they were dressed, but on several occasions I have seen them reschedule a hearing for another day. Of course it’s always been those in traffic court without an attorney. Your attorney would not let you disrespect the court in a criminal trial. Free speech in a courtroom? You have got to be kidding. In a courtroom you will be told when to speak, when not to, and you may be told (and threatened with jail for contempt) things you can’t say.
  25. I’m not overlooking anything; I agreed with you. They (Police Officers) are a special group; we (HCP Holders) are a special group. We both have special firearm privileges the average citizen does not have. The average Tennessee resident is the one that has a real complaint; if they get caught carrying a loaded gun they go to jail. That happens because neither the United States Constitution nor the Tennessee State Constitution gives them a right to carry. I haven’t seen anyone imply that LEOSA has anything to do with interstate commerce. We live under Federal law. That includes interstate commerce; it is not because of it. It certainly is. They also get to drive over the speed limit, disobey traffic control signals, and they can buy new guns much cheaper than most of us.
