Protesting and picketing is done all the time at the private residences of businesses people, Politicians, and any one else that finds them selves in the limelight. When you are taking peoples home you can say you are just doing a job if you like; that doesn’t mean much to those losing their homes. I’m not defending anyone. I just don’t feel sorry for this guy; but that has nothing to do with unions. You murder a protester on your lawn they will put you exactly where you belong… in prison; I don’t care where you live. If you think Castle law has anything to do with killing an innocent person in your front yard; you are totally clueless as to what the Castle Doctrine is.

We are supposed to feel sorry for a Senior Exec of Bank of America? **** that. It doesn’t sound to me like his kid was in danger. But if he was; Baer should be ashamed that his business practices put his family in danger. Maybe when the son gets done hiding in the bathroom he will do some research and find out what kind of guy good ole Dad is.

I have a Don Hume Agent 9 I picked up at Hero Gear. It rides pretty high. But I wanted a thumb break.

I would bet anything this isn’t his idea, and he was promised something for doing this. Hillary looked like a fool when she started rattling off statistics about how all the weapons in the cartels come from the U.S. The statistics turned out to be as we all knew they would when we heard it. FOXNews.com - The Myth of 90 Percent: Only a Small Fraction of Guns in Mexico Come From U.S. He has always been for it; he just hasn’t gotten around to it yet. Since we have term limits he will probably go after it in his 2nd term. But it won’t be an assault weapons ban; he wants to ban all semi-auto weapons. You think this guy is bad now…. Wait until he has four years of not having to worry about what anyone thinks.

The Prosecutor can’t prove what you knew or what you didn’t. The Castle Doctrine is simply a presumption that you were in danger. If he can tear down that presumption; you will be convicted. It is not a law that says you are considered to be in danger of death or great bodily harm; no matter what. (As some would have you believe) The jury is a “Reasonable Person†if they believe he has proved you were not in danger; you have a problem. In this country the only time you get a free kill is when there is no doubt that you were in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. Even then some still end up in prison.

We see this posted every time Castle Law comes up. We will just have to be in disagreement on this; you are wrong. We are in agreement here… castle Doctrine allows for a presumption; that is all it does. It does not give you a free pass to kill someone if they illegally forced their way into your house. I don’t know why this so hard to understand. The Castle Doctrine allows the presumption that you are in danger; you don’t have to prove it. But if the Prosecutor can prove that you were not in danger that presumption is gone and you can be sent to prison. Let me give you an example…. You come home late one evening and find the 15 year old neighbor kid burglarizing your house. You come in the back door and he runs away from you trying to get out the front door. Feeling secure in your exceptional knowledge of the law you blast him in the back several times. Because after all… you are protected by the Castle Doctrine. You will go to prison. Now…. Any of you can boast about how you are going to kill anyone that comes in your house for any reason and how you are going to protect your family at all costs.. Truth is… if you have to leave your family to go to prison you have failed them and you are a moron.
-
You are losing sight of the facts. Forced entry doesn’t give you a free pass to execute someone. Some of the Castle laws provide that you are given the presumption of being in danger instead of having to prove you were. If the Prosecutor can prove you were not in danger and you simply killed someone; you can be convicted and sent to prison. Immediate death or great bodily harm will never fail you. Anything else is a grave risk to your freedom.

Justices Rule That Sex Offenders May Be Held After Their Sentences End
DaveTN replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
Allowed to stand?…. its done. The system that our founding Fathers put in place has worked. They have ruled there is no violation of rights or of the Constitution. I will go on record as saying this is a good thing and no slippery slope. Now… when the state legislature decides to hold traffic offenders in prison after they pay their tickets; we may have to revisit this. -
Justices Rule That Sex Offenders May Be Held After Their Sentences End
DaveTN replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
If you think your legislators are going to start putting speeders and pot smokers in prison for the rest of their lives; then yes this may be a slippery slope. But you might try taking off your tin foil hat and putting on some skis; it’s worth the ride. -
Have you decided not to buy a 380 because of the ammo shortage?
DaveTN replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
No, I decided not to buy a .380 when there was an abundance of ammo. -
If you are right handed… Car keys, change, etc goes in front left pocket. ID’s and such go in your wallet in your back pocket. If you carry a knife it either clips to your belt or goes beside your wallet in your back pocket. Right front pocket is free for a gun. At least that’s how I see it.

Federal Court Rules Open Carrying Disorderly
DaveTN replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Our founding fathers put in place a system to address Constitutional issues. That has been done. Do you want to put carry to a vote? I don’t, the average person doesn’t think you need to carry; concealed or otherwise. You just saw a President elected that openly said he wanted all semi-automatic weapons banned. Those of us that carry are a small minority; if “the people†get what they want we are in trouble. -
I don’t carry all the time, but I usually carry either a J-frame (36) or a K-frame (2 ½†66) during the summer. During the winter or if I’m going to Memphis I carry a full size M&P 40 or a Compact M&P 40. Everything is application driven.

The ability to hold your weapon level without sagging and without you having to pull it so tight you pass out. Appearance. It shouldn’t look like you are wearing a cheap Wal-Mart belt. (That may not matter to some but it does to me.) Leather quality. A quality leather belt should last years.
-
I researched belts and the same answer always came up… Beltman. Gun Belts by The Belt Man | tel. (919) 387-1997 | DUAL-LAYER BULL HIDE BELTS I ordered a 1.5” Dual layer Bull hide with a Velcro liner. I have worn it to work every day for a year and a half. I haven’t done anything to it, and it still looks nearly new. 86.95 delivered isn’t cheap, but I don’t think I will ever wear this belt out. All the competitors I have looked at are just as much or more. I bought Tan, now I need black.

Taking the photoshop plung, what have I gotten into?
DaveTN replied to hardknox00001's topic in General Chat
Photoshop Elements is not a user friendly program. But it doesn’t have to be; it has no competition. I have generally dealt with one task at a time (Whatever I need to do) and used the help (online) section. I would suggest the following for a beginner. 1. Shoot everything in RAW or RAW+Large JPG. 2. Use big cards so memory is not even an issue. (4GB and larger) 3. This isn’t film…. Shoot away with total disregard for how many shots you are taking. This is one time when Spray & Pray is a good thing. 4. Save original files and do not edit them. (Then when you screw up your pics, and you will, you can start over.) 5. Know your camera equipment and you won’t have to edit much. 6. Find a good photography forum. For Canon this is it… Canon Digital Photography Forums - Powered by vBulletin For Nikon I don’t know, but you can still use that Canon forum for stuff that is not camera dependent. Good luck. Digital Photography is a great hobby, but just like guns; it is expensive and the good stuff costs. -
Since you say you are new to rifles I assume you have not shot any better with other set-ups that you can compare to. That’s not a high dollar rifle and who knows what that glass is, but 2” groups don’t sound that bad for a beginner with a new rifle. Is there a marksman where you shoot that could try it out? Maybe someone here will volunteer, where in N. Alabama are you?

That’s it in a nutshell. But some people can’t grasp the concept.

Federal Court Rules Open Carrying Disorderly
DaveTN replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I don’t know. Are all Black Men banned by state law from entering a retail store and only a special group of Black Men allowed to do so? -
No, you can kill anything if a “reasonable person†would believe you are in fear of your life. Unloading a 15 round mag and running down the street screaming like a little girl because you saw a snake is not reasonable. It’s funny the way the mind works and the different things grown men are afraid of. I’ll handle snakes and let spiders crawl all over me; but if a wasp shows up I will freak TF out. I can’t ignore them and I can’t be around them. I’m convinced they are the creatures of the devil and I would shoot them if I could. But if I got arrested I doubt a Judge or Jury would think that is reasonable.

I’m not interested in meeting Brett Favre or killing birds; but I sure could use a new Remington. Where’s that option?

That might be a better deal than Buds then; they add 3% if you use a credit card, you have a transfer fee, and they also want insurance on shipping.
