Who does the machining is usually more important than who made a casting or forging. I work in the Aero Space industry and we make many parts from castings and forgings. You can see the fit and finish difference between two shops. But more important is the location and the dimensional tolerance of features in the part. I can put two parts from different shops on my CMM and there will be differences. I can run profilometer on parts and there will be a difference. Both parts may be within tolerance but because of the difference one may be a better performer in the end product. So if the casting or forging and the machining were all done by the same shop; I would agree that they are probably the same quality. But the fact that a forging or casting came from the same place would mean very little to me; the shop that finished them would be more important. What feature does the Stag have that is not available in the DPMS?

Is the mini 30 receiver slotted with the rings clamping directly to It., or are you using a mount attached to the receiver? If you swapped the rings front to back without rotating them and it still shot left, then the rings are not in line with the barrel. If one of the rings was off center it would switch directions when you swapped them. If it has a mount; I would say the mount is not straight. Assuming of course it’s not the scope.

I keep saying we need to group purchase a plot 25 yards wide and 1000 yards long, but so far no one else is interested. I have to go to Illinois to be able to do that; can’t find anything here.

Murfreesboro has them and the city says they reduced the serious accidents “in†the intersection, but increased the less severe rear end accidents “at†the intersection. I doubt that is a policy of your local department. We would have people stay on the line and talk the Officers in. I have had the dispatcher relaying a car count from the corner that a witness was giving them. Contrary to popular belief by some; a citizen’s call of a suspicious person or vehicle is probable cause to make a stop and investigate. Most District Officers would want the information you have. I would call the Police, but if you live out in the county or something and the local security can get there faster; call them.

I don’t think it has been done because the .22 doesn’t have the power to reliably move a 1911 slide around. You have to take weight off the slide and then it’s not a 1911 anymore. I could be wrong through.

Glock doesn’t have a solid reputation. That’s why you see all the Glock bashing/hatin’ going on. No matter which side of the argument you are on you have to agree that a large percentage of the market thinks either they are not safe or they are junk. How much money do they make? I have no idea. How would a financial expert rate them? I would guess they had a large market share because the sold guns to Police Departments cheap; which gave them the civilian market. S&W has taken a serious bite out of the LE market with the M&P.

Buds has DPMS for $123 and S&W for $131 shipped. I can’t find anything around here anywhere close to that (in a name brand). A local gun shop had S&W, but they wanted over $200 for them.

God I hope if they want a handgun company they buy Glock and not Smith & Wesson. I truly don’t think S&W customer support could anywhere but down right now.
