  1. I have one and I don’t think it is. I’m not trying to be a smart azz (this time:D) I’m being honest, I would truly be amazed and have great respect for anyone that could do that. I wouldn’t bet money Jerry Miculek could do it.
  2. The card is cheaper, but it is only good for like Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Post Office; same place you get a Passport.
  3. I keep telling the wife to get hers. One day we will need/want to travel out of the country and there will be a bunch of drama and added expense to get a passport in time.
  4. 10 years
  5. I read some of the questions about ID (trying to get birth certificates, etc) and it made me wonder. I have had a passport for many years because I traveled overseas on my job. But with the recent changes requiring a passport to go just about anywhere outside the states I wonder why everyone doesn’t get one. Then you don’t have to be concerned with ID again.
  6. I am serious. I will drive to Clarksville to watch you do this. If you can shoot a 1†circle out of a 3X5 card at 30 feet with a 2†J-frame without sights, in 5 shots; I need to learn from you.
  7. We see it on this forum all the time. Our Founding Fathers were some hard core guys that were tough on crime; not a bunch of criminal coddling liberals.
  8. LA schools are 73% Latino? Is that true? What happened to the blacks? But if true, I guess that makes the statement from the board pretty much a no brainer. It must be tough to admit you are a criminal if you are just trying to better yourself.
  9. That one sounded pretty well thought out to me. You were obviously taking the question seriously while I was being facetious and flippant.
  10. I have a S&W model 36 that was my first off duty gun I keep for sentimental reasons. Every other handgun I have is just a tool or a range toy. I will sell or trade them at the drop of a hat. And so will the rest of you as you get older.
  11. I’m all about Smith & Wesson but every large company has had a black eye at some time or other. With S&W it’s the Sigma. It’s a POS with a terrible trigger that was targeted at the bottom feeder market. Has she taken a look at the .40 M&P? Its better quality than either the Glock or the XD.
  12. I use a passport for ID. I keep my car hid and really don’t want people to know I have a drivers license. My driver’s license is for LEO’s to see only, and then only with probable cause or a warrant.
  13. An American made 1911 in the bottom feeder market and the only problem is the safety needs a radius??? Show me one!! One of the forum dealers said he sold a few to forums members. They should have already been posted, but…..
  14. Just got off the phone... I just talked to Nathan Noble the owner. This is a work in progress. He said right now they can accommodate 2-4 shooters at a time out to 1600 meters (that’s 1750 yards!). But eventually they will have more lanes set-up. He said they have been pretty booked up by the military and private companies, but that they are open to the public. He said they allow .50BMG, but anyone that has not shot there would be required to spend a couple of hours with their people to show that they know what they are doing. They will not blindly allow .50BMG. Sounds like the start of something big. Nathan was friendly and answered my questions. If you want to contact him yourself… Phone: 270-749-4101 Email: info@parkmammothresort.us
  15. One of the dealers here can correct me if I am wrong, but don’t they still have to pay the state for a rejection? I can see them charging you what their real cost is. Since they charge $10 I assume their cost is that or less. <O:p</O:p I have never heard of a restocking fee for an item a dealer has in stock and has simply picked it up off the shelf; that would be crazy. <O:p</O:p I wouldn’t think a dealer would think of anyone that is trying to buy as “wasting their timeâ€. I’m sure they have customers that come in weekly and put their grubby paws all over weapons that they will never buy. But if they humor them they may tell someone that can buy.
  16. I can’t find anything. Could it be Rock Castle Shooting Center? http://www.parkmammothresort.us/rockcastle.htm But I don’t see much there except shotgun?
  17. If we formed a shooting club I wonder if we could shoot on the 1000 yard range at the base (Tullahoma)? I mean a real club with a bunch of members that will actually show up. (20, 30 more?) Does anyone know the contact info for who actually controls that range? Air Force…State..Private??
  18. Tullahoma has one at the base. The problem is (as related by some on this forum) that you can’t practice there. They said the only way you can shoot there is to enter a match. I saw on another forum that they don’t allow anything over .338 because there is no berm. I just read that I don’t know if it’s true. How can you have a 1000 yard range with no berm? I would like to shoot my .308 there.
  19. Quit talking about my woman.
  20. Sure it is. They just aren’t on the clearance self. He wants to know what’s the best round; he didn’t ask what’s the best round for the money.
  21. That title has been held by the Federal hydra-Shok for over 20 years….. and it still is.
  22. Absolutely. They can buy the real deal full auto AK’s directed from the source. They don’t need the neutered stuff we have here. And when did drug cartels start using bayonets? It would be real interesting to find out exactly what these “assault rifles†were and where they came from. I’m picturing Hillary paying a couple of bums to run a load of Mosin Nagant’s across the border so she can act like she has even a little bit of a clue about what is going on.
  23. Unless things have changed, they build their higher end models (like the TRP) in Illinois on frames from Imbel in Brazil. But I think the Micro is made complete in Brazil and Springfield just puts their name on it as required by Federal law as the importer. Same as with the XD from HS Produkt (IM Metal) in Croatia. But my info could be outdated; maybe someone has newer info.
  24. The Kimber is made here. The Springfield Micro is not a Springfield, they are just the importer; it is made in Brazil. I don’t know if that’s important to you, but it’s a deal breaker for me. I have owned several Kimbers including an SIS Ultra. I didn’t have any problems with it, but I didn’t put many rounds through it either. I have owned Springfield’s made here, but not their imports.
  25. Check my post in this thread for Todd Watts in Christiana. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/gunsmithing-troubleshooting/20384-gunsmith-smyrna.html
