  1. Mouse over the link; if it’s from the CA and you don’t like that, don’t click it. I usually try to put text in the thread but like OS says, sometimes it just requires too much formatting. Also, there are some pages that do not allow you to copy and paste.
  2. Is it possible that is because you were not there for them to talk to? After you pulled a gun on him did you call the Police? Fill us in with the rest of the story. What did they tell the Police happened? Oh and BTW… as someone who has been arrested for no crime other than having a gun in my car; let us know how that whole “NRA Member” thing works out for you.
  3. I have never shot one of those but I see it’s offered in a 16†version. What can that rifle do that my 16†LR-308AP4 can’t do at about a third the price? I’m not arguing with anyone, I have never even seen that rifle, much less shot it; I would just like to know.
  4. Pros & Cons of the finished blade or Pros and Cons of you machining and heat treating a blade?
  5. Step by step with pictures... The rifle... Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle (2006) - Surplusrifle.com The bolt... Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle (2006) - Surplusrifle.com If you look, there is also a link on those pages to download a PDF of those intructions. Good luck with your new toy.
  6. I’m a Toolmaker by trade and know a little about metallurgy. Unless you are a bumbling moron you won’t hurt your barrels by cleaning them. Yes, if you use a steel rod and whaller it around like your trying to get a fence post out; you could damage the rifling. Brass rods are fine, carbon fiber is better. But no matter what you use, keeping them clean is as important as the material they are made from. Wipe them down as you go so you aren’t dragging abrasives residue up and down the bore. A bore guide can’t hurt, if you think you need it. I would bet all the barrels you see that look terrible got that way from being stored dirty; not from being cleaned. Proper maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of your weapon will help it last a lifetime. Neglecting it, storing it dirty, and dry firing it at the TV all night will result in mechanical failure.
  7. I didn’t have to get printed for my C&R. But even if you do now; the price of your prints is included in the HCP fee. For my HCP I was directed to a place that did electronic prints. It didn’t look to me like they were set-up to do inked cards.
  8. If he’s in the left lane doing 50 in a 65 I would assume he is looking for something in the median. I would pass him and use care not to hit whatever he is looking for. I was always amused when I would pull up to a busy 4-way stop. If I was bored I could sit there and watch the traffic back up, but usually I just went on; because no one is going until the cop goes.
  9. I have dreamed of building a World Class Indoor/Outdoor range in this area. The problems I thought I would have with an indoor range would be Zoning, Insurance, OSHA, and EPA. In this day and age I think those are the areas I would want answers about first. I assume that is why our local indoor range has to charge over $20 a person to shoot. I am more into rifles and I think a Long Distance rifle range would be a great draw if the cost to shoot could be kept down. I don’t think I would want to try anything in the city.
  10. Drill Doctor works well. If you learn how to do it, it’s faster to sharpen them by hand. But it would have to be a very big drill for us to justify the cost of a machinist taking the time to do it. At home all you need is a bench grinder.
  11. You might want to check it out before you say that. I suspect egos are involved more than anything.
  12. Not a good argument to use when you are selling foreign made guns. Besides that some of the Glocksters have already informed us they don’t care about the National economy; so I doubt they care about you or the local economy. I buy from the local forum vendors; but I buy American made firearms.
  13. We have some guys shooting a 1†group at 10 yards with a 2†J-Frame Airweight. This should be a piece of cake (or pie…whatever) for them. Since you opened it to any handgun I suspect they will take your $200 in short order.
  14. Do you work in Mexico?
  15. See has a hot body but in some of those pics her face is kinda long like a horse face. So for that reason I have to give her an 8. Like anyone else; sure I’d hit it. But that doesn’t make her hot; it just means our standards aren’t that high. But I guess if you are a screw-up, get fired, and can find an attorney that will take the case; anything is possible in the good ole US of A. Justice would be that if she loses her case; Citibank could get a judgment against both her and her attorney for every dime they spend on this case.
  16. Any insurance experts here? Reference the case where the guy in Clarksville is being sued civilly for shooting the kid that was banging on doors. Would the Home Owners insurance and its limits of liability be in play in that civil case? I’m asking specifically if this guy didn’t own anything worth winning in a judgment, but he had homeowners insurance would his limits of liability be available as a reason for the victims family to settle?
  17. The NightBat dosen’t come in a Kompact; the Wombat does through.
  18. I like Buds for stuff my dealers don’t have. I have purchased from them and they would be my first choice for on-line. But for something as common as a Glock .40 I doubt you will save much (if any) when compared to local stocking dealers. From Dickson I would check Guns & Leather and then Hero Gear. I would assume they both have them.
  19. Would your wife carry a second magazine that is immediately accessible? If not, the hold open is moot. Second Strike I guess is a good feature I guess; it’s planning for failure. I would take a Ruger over a Taurus any day, but I wouldn’t want my wife carrying a .380 unless that’s all she could handle. Good luck with whatever you get.
  20. I can’t get my phone to work worth a damn on the forum (or much of anywhere else) it’s a Samsung Rogue. What are you using?
  21. Oh, I did not know that.
  22. I wouldn’t waste my money on both. I am aware of no reason to have both. I went through customs quicker in Canada using a passport than I did using a DL. What makes you think having a card would be any quicker than a full passport?
  23. I don't think they are. I have shot there, and while I didn’t get yelled at or bothered, I don’t like it because I don’t like any supervised range. Many people are just the opposite; they want to go to a supervised range…it makes them feel safe. I don’t think closing this range is the answer. I was impressed with this range, it was large, clean, and well taken care of. If you are upset with something a range RSO did, either take your scolding and move on, leave and don’t go back, or talk to whoever is in charge.
  24. I don’t open carry, but I do at Terry’s place…. It doesn’t count. Who doesn’t open carry at the range? Was the rifle side dry… no standing water?
