  1. I couldn’t get my bolt to come out when I pushed the bold release. I removed the stock and I had to push down on the end of the bolt release lever; it was stuck. If even minimal pressure is put on the front of the bolt release lever, the release button can’t push it back; it is stuck in the slot and I have to push on the back of the bolt release lever. Is the end of the bolt release spring supposed to just be lying on top of the bolt release lever? There is a hole in the forward end on the lever, but there isn’t anything in it. I cleaned it thoroughly with powder blast sprayed it down with Break-Free CLP in case there was some dirt in there. But it didn’t do any good; it still sticks. It’s a fairly new 700 VLS with the X-Mark Pro Trigger…. If that matters.
  2. Does the ignorant azz think they don’t get news in prison? Not only would the blacks know he is in for plotting to kill a bunch on blacks (regardless of his tattoos); he has now decided to turn his back on his beliefs. So the AB won’t help him either. Criminals are dumber than chit. Bend over Danny.
  3. He tried to stop these thugs when they were attacking a patron of the bar. That is what any Police Officer would do. They attacked him, knocked him out and then kicked him while he was on the ground. Why would it matter if he was drinking?
  4. Do they still have prison teams that play each other?
  5. Look it up. He said he wants to outlaw semi-auto weapons.

    Keltec PMR-30

    I have a Kel-Tec Pistol that holds 30 rounds of .223.
  7. I’m the “States Rights†guy remember. I’m sure Obama would like to take my guns. He has said so. But the chances of the state of Tennessee allowing the Feds to do that is exactly the same as the Feds telling Illinois they have to recognize the 2nd amendment….. None.
  8. Speaking of foolish…. Who is “they And why are they coming to get my guns? <O:p</O:p Katrina was an isolated incident during the worst disaster the area has ever seen. States like Tennessee and others have enacted legislation to make sure that can’t happen again. So without using any lame azz Katrina pictures or videos…. Who did I need to watch out for? <O:p</O:p
  9. Depends on what the state does. If the state sides with Daley they will tell the Feds to go pound sand. I don’t agree with Daley on the guns issue but many (including me) see this as a States Rights issue. This is an Illinois call, not up to the Feds. It would be different if the SCOTUS ruled we have a right keep and bear arms; but they were to chicken chit to do that. They knew some states would not comply. Daley is giving the people that elected him what they want. The poor and minorities in Chicago are who elected him and they want gun control. They will be even more anti gun when they find out only the wealthy can have guns. I guess next we will see what the Illinois Courts do. I’m betting that Daley will wreak havoc on this as long as the people keep him in office. I know this isn’t a popular opinion on a gun board, but you can’t simply fall back saying that it is written in the Constitution. States don’t recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right… Illinois doesn’t and neither does Tennessee. Exactly
  10. Have you tried the Hogue Bantam grips? They are the smallest Hogue’s, and have finger grooves. They don’t cover the back strap; I doubt you will find any compact grips that do.
  11. You can if the other party agrees to it. But to avoid any problems later I would write N/A on the signature line and have both parties initial it to show you are both aware there is no third party "Witness". Of course if there is a problem it really doesn’t matter. At that point it all comes down to who can afford the best attorney.
  12. Call (or go to) the Headquarters or the District Precinct of the Police Department that would respond to a shots fired call.
  13. It’s the right thing to do. However, I hope when he made his announcement he advised the citizens of the County that both the local Police Chief and the Sherriff are going to continue to make arrests until this is addressed by the Courts or the Legislature. Putting your own career at risk is one thing. Putting your constituents at risk of criminal arrest on a weapons charge is another.
  14. Exactly. His job is to keep his name in threads like these so he can lead the good life.
  15. I believe it was a well written article. He offers opinions from both sides; I don’t see where he is making his own opinions on the issues known. The States Rights concern is a valid one. There are states that will not be told by the Federal government when and where guns can be carried. Illinois and Tennessee are two of those states. It is a crime for the average citizen to carry a gun in Tennessee and it will remain that way until Tennessee chooses otherwise. Same with Illinois; the difference in Illinois is that they do not allow you to purchase the privilege. No matter how badly you believe you should be able to carry a gun (and I do believe that), you can’t believe that the Feds driving that down a states throat is not a “States Rights†issue. The 1st vs. 2nd argument is lame and it has been addressed by the Justices.
  16. The way the number is used it would not only include all people shot under all circumstances, but it would include suicides and all those people that had minor injuries from a gunshot. I wouldn’t get in a pizzing match over that number; it could be accurate.
  17. Yes, they could rule it is unconstitutional, but they won’t; they won’t even hear the case. Just as in the “bear arms†part of all the gun rulings; they aren’t about to take on States Rights. <O:p</O:pFYI… Illinois doesn’t register guns. FOID registers gun owners.
  18. Heller and McDonald have come and gone. And as predicted it is still a crime for a citizen of the state of Tennessee to carry a loaded gun. Fix that before you move on to something you have absolutely no chance of winning. Just a thought…. <O:p</O:p
  19. I would check out the new Remington 1911. I haven’t seen or used one yet but I hear it is made here, that’s enough for me to give it a try before buying foreign. One of the forum dealers said he sold some to forum members; but I haven’t seen any reviews yet from those that actually own one.
  20. My main concern is the economy and jobs. I want to know what they intend to do about fixing our economy and restoring our manufacturing base. If our economy fails the issues like the Constitution, religion, and abortion simply will not matter. It has been proven time after time that someone that supports gun control can easily be elected. So while it is an issue for me; I won’t waste a vote voting for someone that shares my firearms beliefs but can’t get elected. Don’t forget… While the rest of us were looking at the issues Obama was elected by a group of people with a single goal in mind. One thing’s for sure. If we keep the elections focused on the economy it won’t be Democrats or liberals getting elected.
  21. As expected… now comes the entertainment. Daley isn’t done yet. He is already suggesting licensing, training and additional insurance requirements for gun owners. As with Heller the SCOTUS left the door open for state regulation of firearms laws. From what he is suggesting it will be like Tennessee only at higher costs; those that can afford to play the game will be okay, those that can’t will be criminals. Knowing Daley very well, I won’t be calling this a win until all Chicago citizens can legally own handguns.
  22. It’s simply a courtesy. It gives the CLEO a chance to notify the ATF if you are a nut job. Of course if you are a nut job; you probably won’t send the copy to the CLEO.
  23. *Sigh* Thanks for the lecture Jamie, but I’m pretty clear on what is going on. The battle for the “Right to Keep and Bear arms†has been going on all my life and will continue long after I am gone….. Always one court case away from everyone strapping on their guns and walking down the street. You will be allowed to do that when the state you are in decides to allow it and not until then. We already fought a war over states rights and it will not happen again. Do I think we should be able to carry? Of course. Do I think the Federal government will ever cram that down the throat of any state? You would have to believe in the Easter bunny to buy into that. D.
  24. It can never be the law of the land…. There are states that will refuse to comply. The SCOTUS knows that, and that is why they know they are safe in ruling you have a right to own guns; but where and when you can carry them is States Rights. But hey… maybe I’m wrong. I will be in Illinois on Monday with a bunch on guns. Maybe I’ll be able to carry. <O:p</O:p
  25. I would get another one if Kat Von D would do it.
