  1. Just general photography. I don’t do it for income, but I have shot weddings. The 7D and the 60D are the same size sensor (APS-C). I can’t justify the cost of full frame models.
  2. Let us know how that works. Good luck with your new set-up.
  3. They don’t need guns in Canada; they don’t have crime. And if a Bear attacks, you just play dead.
  4. Just might be time to sell the 20D. But now do I want the 60D or spend the extra money for the 7D? Decisions…. Decisions… Canon U.S.A. : Professional Imaging Products : EOS 60D

I fixed it. I figured you would get around to it later.

    Harris Bipod

I have been looking at a Harris bipod for my 700 VLS. Do most of you fix a mount of the stock or do you use the sling stud?

    Harris Bipod

I have had no problems with the Federal Power-Shok in my VLS. I get it from Wal-mart for less than they want for some of the junk on-line. I also get Winchester and Remington when they run the rebates. I don’t see much difference in any of the top name brands.

You guys need to be kinder and more understanding... less argumentative. Like me…
  9. The EPA and OSHA are two very big costs that foreign competitors to our country’s industry do not have. I didn’t read the article, but they are trying to ban the use of lead in our industry and we have nothing to do with ammunition.
  10. To me, M1’s an AR’s are different animals and don’t compete. I have both. (Although my M1 is a Garand) If you are looking for a modern .308 Winchester (7.62 NATO) in a semi-auto I would look at the DPMS. Shooting golf balls at 330 yards is quite a feat. But I’m in Murfreesboro and have a DPMS LR-308AP4. It’s not set-up right now with a scope capable of doing that, but I guess I could mount my Leupold VX-III 6.5X20X40 LR on it. If you want to try it let me know and we can go down to Walden’s place; its 300 meters.

    SHTF

There isn’t much we can do about natural disasters. A lot of mistakes were made during Katrina; we learned a lot and won’t make them again. Help will be pouring in from the outside areas. No one will be trying to take your weapons; at least no one acting in a lawful official capacity. We also learned not to listen to FEMA when they tell us not to go to the area to help. It would be a shame if we failed because of our economy. We control that; we can change that whenever we want. We don’t need the government or politicians to do much of anything. So I like to think that before our economy collapses the more intelligent part of the population will change the course. Or… maybe the majority of the population is too stupid to change; then we get what we deserve. Look at who our president is; the people elected him.Wow… now as I type this I’m wondering if we deserve to be saved.

I don’t think many of us are going to go running off as long as our homes are standing. If a natural disaster destroys my home; I’ll go stay with friends or relatives until the insurance takes care of things. So SHTF would have to be a Tornado, fire, earthquake, etc.
  13. laughed out loud at that. But you know what? People like her vote.
  14. Probably. But you won’t be eligible for one of the secret settlements from Glock.
  15. Around 84. Is this the part where you tell me that today’s rounds are so much more advanced than Federal Hydra Shoks were back then?
  16. Sorry but when I was a cop I saw the autopsy photos of a guy that was shot (19… I think) times by Police and was still returning fire. They were shooting him with 9mm hollow points. He was dead, he just didn’t know it, and continued shooting until he collapsed. The Officers at the scene were amazed. I carried a 9mm Browning Hi-Power off duty at the time. I sold it and have never owned another 9 since. But like always in all the caliber wars, that just my opinion based on what I saw. I will not argue a headshot would not have taken him down, but I will say that unless you have experienced a shooting; I wouldn’t count on having the ability to do it.
  17. Granted, but the “free populace†needs to understand that nothing is free. We need to protect our economy. I do not support the government trying to fix our economy. It is the American people that caused it and it needs to be the American people that fix it.
  18. There are people that are alive today because their cars called for help when they were in an accident and unable to call for themselves. I remember when the tinfoil hats didn’t like that because it could be used to track vehicles. Joey Greco.
  19. At least 14 to 20X. But to do that you are going to have to spend some money. My Leupold is pretty good at 300 meters on 20X, but I have never got to shoot it past that. That’s why I asked how much difference there is between the savage and the Remington. It’s all about the glass. I would guess a savage with a quality scope will embarrass a Remington with a questionable one. Given the same shooter. After all that’s the biggest variable that usually gets left out when comparing rifles.
  20. Is this a theme? Just couldn’t let Kegger out do you huh?
  21. Not a bit. They aren’t using the technology to track anyone yet. They are using it to catch law breakers. I’m not a criminal and I’m not concerned about them having the ability to track me. All my financial transactions can be tracked by minimum wage workers in a cubical somewhere; that bothers me more than cops tracking my vehicle. Sorry, but I just don’t look good in a tinfoil hat. I support law enforcement and will give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove me wrong.
  22. +1 I have that Simmons Whitetail Classic also; it’s big, cheap, and clunky. It’s not a good scope it’s just high power on the cheap. Its $109 right now at Midway and I wouldn’t use it on a target rifle. You can get a Leupold 3X9X40 for just over $200 and it is far superior. How much difference in price is there between the Savage and the 700 you are looking at?
  23. The rest of the iceberg is that you can use them at sudsy's car wash with a monthly pass and you don’t have to use a ticket to pay with. If you aren’t a criminal don’t worry about living in a Police State; that’s just movie and internet hype.
  24. Why were they booting them…traffic tickets… warrants?
  25. Man…. Technology is really advancing. Info on Stolen, warrants, revoked of all the vehicles around you… these guys must keep busy.
