  1. Does the rugby team carry guns too? Just kidding…Welcome.
  2. I don’t think Murfreesboro replaced anything; I think the Franklin show is still over there.
  3. RK Show...Williamson County Ag Expo Center in Franklin? Or Murfreesboro… it’s an RK show also.
  4. My thoughts on this are… 1. Failure to prosecute does not mean a shooting is justified. 2. Getting an award or settlement in a civil case from someone that has sued you is worthless if the person doesn’t have any money. So even if you are justified it can still cost you a lot. But what does that matter? You still have to protect yourself. Don’t worry about Castle Doctrine; you are always justified if a reasonable person would believe you are in danger of death or great bodily harm. As far as I know that would work in all 50 states and does not require or depend on “Castle Doctrineâ€.
  5. Looks nice…. Kimber America » Solo What’s up with all this new stuff in 9mm? Did they forget about us 40S&W guys? Oh well maybe next year.
  6. Never thought I’d be interested in it; but things change as you get older. I don’t want to run around getting up and down off my knees, or roll around on the ground anymore. I need some shooting competition that is simply stand and deliver. You guys don’t kneel or roll around on the ground do you? So how about it? How many of you are involved in this? Where can I go see it around Murfreesboro? It appears to me you are required to have two revolvers; is that correct? (Plus the rifle and shotgun of course.) Are you required to wear period correct clothing, or is that just something people do? I thought my gun collection was pretty good, but I don’t have any single action revolvers and no levers or shotguns anymore. So if I wanted to do this it would of course involve buying all new guns. Tell us about what you have and post some pics.
  7. Check out post #4 here for the latest info... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/want-buy/50987-wtb-tennessee-gun-owners-hat-anyone-have-extra-laying-around.html
  8. Won’t be long before they get caught.
  9. Receiving stolen firearms that have passed through an FFL? I guess it’s possible but I doubt it happens often. Sounds like your dealer doesn’t want to transfer; just use a different dealer.
  10. Palin won’t be running for President. The people are not happy with Obama and want him out. The republications will run someone that has a better chance of winning. But you can bet whoever does run will want the support of Palin.
  11. PLR-16 doesn’t require a hand guard; mine didn’t come with one. It is an accessory.
  12. I had a Belgium Browning Hi-Power in the 70’s. I sold it in the 80’s when I got rid of all my 9’s. It was a beautiful handgun. Fantastic hi-gloss blue job and the action was like glass. I have always thought that if I ever bought another 9 I would like to get one like it. The new ones I have looked at certainly don’t have the finish and don’t appear to have the quality of machining of the old ones.
  13. I haven’t had anyone beat Wal-Marts price on WWB for range ammo, no matter how much you buy. (.40S&W & .45ACP)
  14. It’s a dangerous game that can hurt the citizens. They just did that in Wisconsin (or somewhere). The CLEO and the DA can say whatever they like; but they don’t make laws. If there is a city PD involved they may not play along and people get arrested. The law needs to be changed for the state. Other than Metro Davidson where is there a CLEO (Sheriff) that is not elected?
  15. The PLR-16 would need some very specific language to outlaw it. Unlike the AK or AR it was designed and built as a handgun and has never been a rifle. So no, I don't think it could just “become a rifle". I would think it would have to be specifically outlawed (same as the Buntline example). what would be more likely would be addressing caliber.

    SNOW!!!

Yep. When you bury the frame it really doesn’t matter how many tires you have spinning.
  17. I don’t think that is right. Tennessee law defines barrel length for a handgun. You have Federal Law and State law; it just depends on who is charging you and why.
  18. First off for typing sake I will refer to the 5.56x45mm NATO as 223 and the 7.62x51mm NATO as 308. I am familiar with these rounds and I thoroughly understand that military and civilian versions are not the same. That being said…. You have used both haven’t you? I have a lot of experience with both the .223 and .308 and have both. I have never been impressed with the .223 and my opinion is that it is nowhere near being in the class of the .308 as a round capable of stopping the threat. Unless I’m reading your statement wrong you are saying you think that the .308 loses accuracy beyond 300 yards. That just isn’t true. There is a reason your Marine Corps Snipers use the .308 instead of the .223. Also Bench rest shooters. I have a DPMS .308 Panther and that is the combat rifle I would want. Even for close quarter combat. It is devastating, it fires a round that is capable of ending the threat, and it was a proven performer in a couple of wars. The main complaint I hear is the weight of the ammo. I would think that now a day’s most of you have vehicles with you and the weight issue could be overcome. For us (Civilians and LEO’s) it’s not an issue. I think it’s terrible that our government will not give our troops the tools they need to stay alive. Going to 9mm and .223 was a tragedy that has cost the lives of many American servicemen and women. Thank you for your service and welcome to the forum.

  20. Okay, I wasn’t there I was just going by what was posted. Thanks for clearing that up.
  21. Good grief… You have to be one of the top shooters on this forum. 200 – 300 rounds at a time several times a week?? Good for you… You have far more experience than most of us, what’s your take on the question? “Get a little expensive†You have to be spending $300 a week not counting range fees if you have any.
  22. Wow… It’s good to know you don’t need an HCP to carry in your county. That or it’s sad your Sherriff is a dumb azz. It is great that he does this class for $5 though.
  23. I wasn’t blaming China I said it’s due to China. The blame is ours. Due to us handing over our manufacturing base China’s economy is skyrocketing. One of the major reasons for the price of copper rising is because of China using much more copper in the production of new homes. The war is another factor. But the big jump in ammo and gun prices at election time was due to panic by those thinking that Obama could somehow impact the availability of guns or ammo as soon as he took office.
